Infinite Dimension Physique: Rise of The Lustful Devil

Chapter 127: What’s so funny?

Rahu felt weightless, as if he were floating around in some lake. His body, free of any restrictions, motivation, and responsibility…wait! Responsibility!?

BOOM!!

He snapped his eyes open forcefully and found himself in a void-like space, with pitch-black darkness stretching endlessly in every direction.

Rahu clutched his head and massaged his temples for a second; he was feeling incredibly nauseous.

"How strange, I haven't even felt like this during the teleportation. This place, don't tell me I am inside the bracelet." Rahu frowned as numerous questions popped up in his head. But after a few seconds, he shook his head. Clearing all the useless thoughts.

After all, this wasn't the time to think. Action was needed. Glancing around, he took a step forward and started walking aimlessly. He could only see a hand's length worth of space, and even that was less visual.

After walking for a few minutes, he stopped and sighed. "Why do all the Inheritance have such complicated trials? Couldn't they just test one's strength and will to see if it is compatible? Oh well, if it was that easy, even Karma would be able to pass this with her stupid little brain," He chuckled.

Suddenly, light flashed in front of him. Rahu frowned a bit. For a brief moment, his senses were dulled, sounds stretched, weight returned, and the empty darkness seemed to recede.

"Masterr!! Master!!"

An excited voice pierced through the haze of confusion.

"Hm…? What? Where am I?" Rahu slowly opened his eyes, only to see a large tongue lapping around his face.

"....Karma?" Rahu glanced up, a bit confused. One second, he was teleported. The second he was in that strange black space, and now Karma was in front of him? Also, he looked down at the ground. He was lying flat with Karma on top of his chest, jumping and pressing her paw on his face.

"Master!! Y-You were out for a whole month! How could you be so reckless!!" Karma shouted, pressing her claws in his cheeks deeper.

"What? You stupid mutt, speak clearly," Rahu instantly snapped up, holding Karma's cheeks, he ordered. Just yesterday, he was fighting the cultivators of Solterra and Yvaris. And now, he was out for a month? What kind of fucked up joke was this?

"Master, we found you lying among a pile of corpses! At first, we were scared shitless! But upon closer look, you were the only one breathing!! So, we hurriedly bought you here. All the other girls are out, looking for a solution to wake you up!" Karma said, her voice was serious and worried at the same time.

"Huh? I was…lying down, among a pile of corpses?" Rahu blinked. Weren't they sucked into some type of hole that was created by his bracelets?

Speaking of those bracelets, he hurriedly went through his pockets and storage rings. But, he didn't find them anywhere.

Having no other choice, he glanced at Karma and asked. "What happened to the Inheritance? Also, whose corpses were I lying between?" He asked, slowly standing up. His body ached all over.

"Masterr! It was those Celestial and Demonic cultivators! There were so many that the whole battleground was littered with corpses!" Karma spoke; a slight tremble was noticeable in her voice, which Rahu immediately noticed.

'I see…it seems something unexpected has happened. Heh, and here we thought that it was the Inheritance!" Rahu laughed, his tone light. He stretched his arms and yawned.

"Tch…a month has passed, huh, can't you guys wake me sooner?" Rahu said, his tone sounding annoyed. Hearing this, Karma immediately shook her head.

"Master! We have tried everything we could, pills, herbs, medicines, tablets, blood, pain, everything! But you didn't wake up, so we had no other choice but to wait for you to wake up by yourself!"

Karma spoke, recounting the entire scenario in a single breath. Indeed, Seris had almost killed herself by overexertion of energy and constant refining. She had tried every method she knew, every trick. But nothing had come to fruition. It was like he was sucking in everything like a black hole. Nothing was working.

"Oh? This…sure is something," Rahu sighed. Everything was confusing now.

"So? Where are we right now?"

"We are just a bit away from where we picked you up!" Karma replied, her tail wagging.

"Let's go check it out." Saying that, he gestured to her to lead the way. While walking, he slowly raised his hand, focusing on his core. He felt his arms shake, and his hands slowly began to transform.

After a second, it turned into a set of incredibly sharp claws!

"This is working fine, and even my Vital Soul Core is functioning properly," Rahu muttered, raising his index finger, and he focused a bit on the tip.

Purple light flashed ever so slightly; seeing this, Rahu again frowned. His [Sword Aura] was working perfectly fine. And he even felt it grow stronger ever so slightly.

After walking for seconds, they finally reached the place where the battle had taken place. Rahu narrowed his eyes as he surveyed the battlefield. It was…a slaughterhouse. Every corner the naked eye could see, there were dead bodies. The scale was truly unimaginable.

But when he watched their figures closer, for the first time. Rahu's heart skipped a beat. The faces of those corpses were lifeless. No, not in the sense that indicated they were dead. It was more like…they were soulless.

Most of the Spirit Realm cultivators and lower weren't even cut down; they just lay there, dead.

"This…" Rahu was speechless, but somewhere in the corner of his existence. He felt it; he somehow knew what this scene indicated.

"Master, do you know who committed this massacre?" Karma suddenly asked, and her question caught Rahu off guard.

"And who is that?" he asked curiously.

"It was…you master. You had slaughtered all these beings in cold blood, taking their lives like they were some insects. They had families, brothers, daughters, sons, fathers, mothers, and friends. But who took it all from them? All for what? A small powerup? New women? Or is it the slaughter you thrive in?" Karma spoke; her voice was so convincing that he almost believed in her...almost.

Rahu closed his eyes for a moment. A second later, he opened them and burst into a fit of laughter!

"What's so funny?"

"Pff-Hahaha!! I see, I see! Good, very good. I can see what you are trying to say here. And yes, I have the perfect answer for all of your questions, you stupid trial."
