Rahu stepped forward. Leaning on the desk, he whispered.
"Silent Night"
The young girl's eyes instantly sharpened. "Follow me", she said in a low voice, glancing around carefully. Then she turned around and walked inside the door parallel to the desk.
Rahu nodded and followed behind her. They soon entered the door, which led to a staircase. It was really dark as nothing could be seen around them.
Soon, they reached the end of the pathway, and what they saw stunned them.
It was a vast hall, large enough to fit at least a thousand men! There was a large board hung up on the wall displaying the names of various cultivators.
There was just a single enormous chamber within. "That's the branch assassin's cabin; you can go in there"
The young girl spoke, turning around and leaving from whence she came.
Rahu took a quick look around. There were roughly three hundred cultivators here. Most of them were in the Vital Core Realm, and some even mid-stage Spirit Realm! A strong lineup of killers.
Rahu glanced at Zira through his mask, signalling her. Then he stepped towards the cabin with Karma.
"Hmm? What do you need, brat?" A fat middle-aged man was sitting there smoking a pipe. He glanced lazily at Rahu and spoke in a brash tone.
Rahu looked at him, surprised. "Hey, is this a joke? Karma, you guys said that this branch manager was capable and strong. Yet look at this fat fudge, a newly promoted Origin Realm cultivator. Hah. Just activate the domain"
"What did you just sa—" before he could finish his words, a terrifying half-black, white dome erupted from Rahu as the centre enveloped the whole hall.
Instantly, all hell broke loose, and all the assassins panicked as their Vital Core and Spirit Seed became chaotic and disrupted.
RUMBLE!
A terrifying sound of thunder echoed through the hall, as five heads fell to the ground with a dull thud. Zira was standing in the midst of the assassins, swinging her sword laced with her signature thunder element.
KRAACCKK
RUMBLE!!
More heads began to fall as panic spread.
"WHHAT, WHY CAN'T I USE MY VITAL CORE!!?"
"NOO, GETT WAY FROM HER!! RUN"
"SHIIIT WHO THE WHY IS SHE? AND THAT THUNDER!"
Zira's whole form was covered in purple lightning; her sword was coated in dense purple. She moved so fast that the assassins barely registered her presence or felt what was happening, until their vision blurred and they collapsed.
They were trapped like mice, unable to escape or scream for help, because this base was specifically designed like this, and the backdoor only opens once in 24 hours.
"CALM DOWN, WE CAN STILL USE MANA, SURROUND HER AND KILL!"
After all, they were at the end of the day assassins, cold-blooded killers who could kill even children without blinking an eye.
They quickly formed multiple formations and began to attack Zira from all angles. They were relentless
Blades and knives flashed. Though they couldn't use their elements, they could still use mana, albeit in a distorted and uncomfortable manner.
"ATTACK!! STRIKE FROM HER BLIND SPOT!"
"KILL THAT BITCH"
"THAT BITCH IS HOT WE SHOULD TAKE TURNS ON HER JEJE"
Shouts and deranged comments flew across the room. But Zira was a peak Spirit Realm cultivator who had her element and [Spirit Seed] intact. These fools were just asking for it.
Meanwhile, inside the room.
"Y-you monster, what did you do? Why are my meridians being clogged and distorted?"
The fat fudge screamed at Rahu. But he didn't pay any attention to him and turned towards Karma.
"Go mark him, he has just opened just two of his meridians and..." A terrifying, ominous purple flashed, cutting the fat fudge's arm, and it fell to the ground.
"AHH! W-wait, I didn't do anything!!!" He screamed, holding his left hand, which was severed. Intense pain shot through his body.
"Oh, this was just a warning, resist, and we will just choose another one of your assassin's branches. Do you understand, trash?"
Hearing his cold tone and words, the fat fudge sweated buckets; he understood that even if he resisted now, they may very well kill him and find another, it was just the way they saw him…annoyance.
Karma stepped forward, her body shifting, and she returned to her original form, half-black and half-white. The fatty was terrified when he saw this.
Karma's paw emitted a strange light the moment it touched the fatty's back. Intense pain surged through his body.
"AHHH!!! W-WHAT IS THAT!? IT HURTS!!!" The fatty screamed at the top of his lungs.
"Mhm, as expected, Origin Cultivators are truly in a different league" Rahu nodded when he saw that the man was still conscious, unlike Zira, who had fainted the moment she was marked.
A yin-yang sigil formed behind him, spreading like a parasite when connected to his nerves, taking hold of his spine and brain.
Huff Huff
The branch assassin fell on his knees. Looking up, he lowered his head.
"M-master"
It wasn't because of the sigil that his mind was being controlled, but the psychological impact. As soon as he thought of betraying him, an intense pain shot through his head, reminding him how terrifying this existence was.
"Mhm, I have a small task for you"
Saying that he took out a small box, which had a small suppressing formation on it.
"Are you an acquaintance of Morath?" Rahu asked, still holding a box.
"Yes, he is my regular contractor, as this branch is on the border. So the base serves as his proxy." The fatty nodded.
"That's good, I want you to give this box to Morath. I believe you are quite familiar with that old coot; say that you found this on a merchant's caravan by accident and took it. How to convince him? It is your job. And I do not like mediocrity; this task must be completed by tomorrow morning. Do you understand?"
The fatty nodded his head like a chicken pecking its peas. Rahu handed him the box, and with a whoosh, the assassin disappeared.
"Master, what was that?" A sweet voice echoed.
Turning back, he saw Zira, who was drenched in fresh blood from head to toe, some gore still clinging to her figure.
Seeing his gaze, Zira's heart skipped a beat, mistaking his gaze for disgust and repulsion. But instead, lips curved in a demonic grin.
"You look so hot, I am thinking of changing plans by fucking you right on this floor"
Zira exhaled, a long one. She didn't know she was this nervous; his words somehow brought a sense of relief to her.
