The desperate players followed along with Arthur and joined his group, drawn by the bloody promise of salvation.

Their group pushed through the horde's of beasts, with their leader's efficient blood manipulation technique making easy work of the withering beasts.

The weaker ones of course.

Ishiki watched them go, but he didn't follow behind them.

He was looking elsewhere.

He was looking up at the top of the remaining section of the wall.

Standing there, silhouetted against the Silver Moon, was a figure. It wasn't a beast or a player.

It was a humanoid shape with large, bat-like wings folded behind its back. Horns curled from its forehead. It stood with its arms crossed, looking down at the slaughter with a smile of pure, satisfied malice.

Ishiki's breath caught in his throat. His blood turned to ice.

It was the Demon that had almost killed him inside the Crimson Canopy all those months ago.

The demon's beautiful eyes locked onto something... at first Ishiki thought it was looking at him... but it was looking at something else entirely.

The demon opened its wings... which were not actual wings, but rather just imitations of one formed from compressing air behind its back.

Ishiki's eyes widened as the demon suddenly vanished from his sight... it moved too fast for him to see... he could only see displaced air.

His heart started pounding in terrified, frantic rhythm. The demon was targeting the group of players that were running towards the obsidian gates.

Ishiki burst into a sprint... not to save the players. He couldn't care less if those bastards died. But there was Nina... she must be around the place he had seen her last time.

The Demon was heading to that direction too.

'screw it... screw it.' Ishiki gritted his teeth and ran faster, activating [Ghost Blade] to get away from the beasts without a fight.

The Demon was faster and It reached the players withing seconds, its fist passed straight through the heart of a player, ripping the organ apart.

Everyone froze for a second... even Arthur who was the farthest away from the demon was shocked.

Ishiki found Nina's collapsed form not too far away. She was sitting all lost in deep thoughts, Kaori was by her side too protecting her. But it looked as if she was being overwhelmed by the beasts.

He didn't think or contemplate over the situation... rather he directly jumped in between Kaori and a beast coming from her back.

It was a frail looking, zombie like beast with mangled body. It was impossible for such a thing to be standing upright... but here it was attacking humans with its unnatural speed.

But before its talon like fingers could reach the girl's back it was suddenly cleaved in half.

Golden blood spewed as two completely different parts feel to the ground. Kaori finished one too and turned back with a frown to find a dead Withering beast's body she hadn't killed.

Her attention immediately turned to Nina... Kaori had gotten too far from her while fighting.

Although she was panting and covered in golden blood and sweat, she couldn't stop.

Honestly speaking... she was useless right now. The Moon was high above in the sky and it marked that it was night time.

Well, it was very strange. From the moment kaori had come here... she had never seen the silver moon in the sky. It was her first time looking at a star that was not Crimson Moon or the Sun inside Aethelburg.

Thanks to it, she had now lost most of her stats.

As she was deep in thought... a wild Xenon of about two meter tall jumped from some distance leaving cracks behind at the place he stood.

"The fuck did this come from?"

Kaori stopped in her tracks and raised her blade. The Xenon was coming at her with a strange speed and power behind its bulky body.

She was at her lowest and was sure that she would be taken away with the beast after Collison.

But the collision never happened. Kaori blinked at what just happened. Out of nowhere the Xenon was suddenly cut into two parts from between. The two different sides of body fell to the ground with a sickening thud and green, fetid blood spewed onto the rubble.

'What in the world just happened?'

Kaori was shocked until she saw that there was someone standing just right between the way of the beast.

It was a not so tall figure... wearing a completely black armor that had spikes protruding out of it in all sides and especially large ones on the shoulder plates.

The figure held an empty hilt in his hand that had no blade... and yet it had cleaved the Xenon so clearly that it was unbelievable.

Without further delay the figure turned and looked at Kaori with deep blue eyes... his face was smeared with golden and green blood.

"Ishiki? When did you?"

A smile bloomed across her face, but Ishiki wasn't smiling back instead he suddenly turned into a dash and dismissed the bladeless tachi.

On his way... he picked up a slightly bent pipe of metal and blurred past Kaori and Nina.

Kaori was stunned at first... but was brought back to reality as a strong shockwave rippled behind her, nearly knocking her off her feet.

She slowly turned around and saw Ishiki's body flying sideways, he crashed into a heap of masonry twenty meters away, dust billowing up from the impact.

A Demon with beautiful eyes and a terrifying built was standing there with weird patters on its body. It was hovering above the ground with two almost invisible bat like wings.

"Do You wanna see something, boy." The Demon's voice was heart wrenching as it picked up a players body from the ground. He was heaving heavily but was still alive.

But the Demon just looked at him for a second and then drilled his finger right into the players eyeball.
