Michael raised his brows slightly as he gazed at Fred, waiting for him to speak.

"I thought that you might want to know, Thomas is not the real leader of the dark society. There is someone else." Fred quickly spoke.

Melvin, standing beside Michael, was left dumbfounded when she heard this. She had not expected such a huge secret to be revealed just like that.

Being part of the top circle within the Eastern province, it was inevitable that she would come to know about the Dark Society and its leaders.

She knew that Thomas was the leader of the gang, and below him, there were four people that were usually trusted. She did not know much about them, but only knew about two of them, and Fred was not among them.

But now, with Fred's revelation, she was left shocked. She just could not believe that Thomas, who was regarded as the leader of the biggest gang in the eastern province, was actually a pawn.

Before Michael could say anything, she quickly asked, "Then, who is behind the dark society? Do you know?"

This was something that she was so much concerned about. After all, from the movements that the dark society had made, it was inevitable that the Walter family might get up being involved in this matter.

So, she thought, if she knew the details regarding the Dark Society, she might be able to prepare some countermeasures. She did not believe that every time, she would be lucky for Michael to come and save her.

"What's up?" Michael received the call.

"Michael, Death shadow has issued a new task for an assassination." Adrian's voice came through the phone's earpiece.

"Who is the target?" Michael asked as he narrowed his eyes slightly.

"This time, you are the target. As for the one who has issued the mission, for the time being, it is unclear, but they are from the central province." Adrian responded.

"Okay, no problem. Just focus on what you are doing, leave this to me." Michael nodded after a moment, before he responded.

Even though he was curious about who it was from the central province that had sent an assassin after him, he was not panicked.

With his current strength, and the fortification of the adaptive dermal lattice armor, unless the assassin used high degree explosives, it was impossible for them to be able to harm him.

But, it seemed that he would have to focus on this assassination organization as well. He might as well plan on how to eliminate it, alongside the dark society.

It did not bode well with him that some people continuously targeted him. Previously, he just felt that there was no need to target them, but that was only if they did not target him again.

But now, it seemed that they did not intend to come after him because of the previous failed assassination attempt. Instead, it was a new client who had issued a mission.

Michael already had a few guesses on who might be behind this, but he was not sure. Regardless, he thought, he would deal with it when the time came.

But for the time being, he gazed at Fred who was already bleeding from the two bullet wounds. By now, a small pool of blood had already formed where he was currently lying on the ground.

Without uttering a word, Michael raised the gun in his hand, while ignoring the horror in Fred's eyes, he pulled the trigger.

It was a direct headshot, as the bullet pierced through the head, between the brows.

Fred's propped up body collapsed, as the life in his eyes faded. The fear in those eyes remained, even after he died.

"Ah?! You killed him?" Melvin suddenly exclaimed as she looked at Fred who had already passed away.

"There is no need to spare some people. Even though he claims that he was forced to become a gangster, and the life of his family is in danger, before he even met Thomas, he was already a gangster.

By now, he has already killed quite a number of innocent people, so, there is no need to spare him." Michael responded simply, before he headed towards the door.

Of course, he possessed detailed information on the dark society, including its members. The only reason why Thomas used the families of the top four core members of the dark society was simply because he wanted to gain their trust.

Thomas might have believed that as long as he had the families of those four as leverage, they would have no other choice but to obey him. As for betraying him, there was almost no chance.

Even the plan that Fred had, if Michael had known, he would have simply thought that he was an idiot. After all, how could Thomas not expect that there might come a day when one or all the four of them wanted to escape?
