Chapter 215: Doubts Shock

Melvin's expression shifted slightly when she heard the officer's words. Even she herself had seen the card that Michael had handed to the police officer, claiming that it was a driver's license.

She knew the appearance of a driver's license. But in her entire life, she had never seen a driver's license that looked like the one that Michael had presented.

She also had her own doubts about the driver's license, but she did not think that Michael would lie. After all, with the abilities that he had demonstrated back at the abandoned factory, why would he lack a driver's license?

From the way that he was driving the car, it was no different from professional drivers. And with his family background, it was quite easy for him to be able to arrange for a driver's license.

As a result, she thought, there was no possibility that Michael would lie about it. Maybe that was just a special type of driver's license?

She trusted Michael, and that was the reason why she had spoken up the moment that the officer insisted that Michael did not have a driver's license. As for the officer's claim that it was a membership card, she found that to be nonsense.

Who on earth would hand over a membership card to a traffic police officer, when asked for a driver's license?

Despite what she was thinking, she replied calmly, "Sergeant, can you ask him if he verified that the card that he was given was a membership card, and not a driver's license? If it is a membership card, can he tell me what institution or entertainment venue does this membership card belong to?"

Before the sergeant could even respond, the officer quickly said, "I can recognize a driver's license clearly. That is not a driver's license. As for the membership card, how am I supposed to be able to know where this membership card is from? It is not as though I usually visit those places, to be able to know how each membership card looks like."

Listening to the retort from the officer, Melvin could not help but frown further.

As for the sergeant, he really felt like beating up this guy. Did he not understand what situation they were dealing with? Could he not speak randomly?

Despite his displeasure, he glanced at Melvin, before he looked towards the Audi. Through the car's windscreen, he could see that there was a young man sitting on the driver's seat with a calm expression on his face.

Judging by his expression, it was as though he was not that much concerned about what was going on out here. This left the sergeant slightly puzzled. What kind of background did this kid have?

But as he tried to remember, he realized that he could not recognize Michael at all. He had done his own research before, to know the young masters and misses of all the powers within this city, to allow him to be able to handle the situations appropriately.

Despite not recognizing who Michael was, he was good at reading people. Just by judging from Michael's demeanor, he could tell that Michael was not simple.

The sergeant wanted to ask Melvin who Michael was, but Melvin beat him to it. She spoke while looking at the officer with a questioning gaze, "He is Michael Santos, the current owner of Sky Technologies. Do you think that someone like that will use a membership card as a driver's license?"

The moment that she asked that question, the expressions of the two officers shifted completely. None of them had expected that this young man, was actually the owner of Sky Technologies.

Yes, they knew that the owner of Sky technologies has changed. As for the sergeant, he also had some little detailed information, understanding that the new owner was considerably young.

It was just that he did not know his appearance. But now, with Melvin saying this, he was left shocked. As for the possibility of Melvin lying, was there I need for her to do that?

Melvin had a reputation of her own, and there was no need for her to lie for something like this. After all, an issue regarding driving without a driver's license was something that could be easily handled, not that easy it to blow up, as long as it was handled properly.

As for the officer, he suddenly remembered the way that he had handled Michael. He was even roughly pulling him out of the car, and if not for Michael not budging, he would have no doubt thrown him out of the car.

Thinking about that, and thinking about how Michael was not moved, despite the officer using his full strength, he suddenly realized that this seemed to be the truth?

Additionally, he could clearly remember, during the time that he was checking the vehicle registration, and the card that was handed over to him, both of them seemed to have the name Michael Santos.

Even though he himself was not that familiar with that name, since the sergeant was here, it was impossible for Melvin to lie about an owner of such a big enterprise like Sky Technologies.

If that really was the case, did that not imply that he had just provoked a big shot? If a youngster like Michael could own Sky Technologies, just what kind of background did he have?

If they decided to take him down, it would only be a matter of a single phone call. As he thought about that, he nearly collapsed, as he thought that his future was completely ruined.

Despite regretting his actions, he also blamed Michael. He is so rich, and with such a big background. Why the heck did he have to drive such a cheap car?

If he had driven a sports car, or even a luxury car, would he have handled him the same way? At least, at that time, he would have been much more cautious.

Of course, at this point, the officer completely forgot that most of his actions were driven by his emotions. Due to the situation back at home, he was not thinking logically when he handled the situation.

Melvin on the other hand gazed at the two. Even though she was amused by their reaction, she was in no mood to enjoy their reaction.

Instead, she just glanced at the sergeant, waiting for his explanation. She knew, with the sergeant knowing that Michael was the owner of Sky Technologies, it was inevitable that he would understand the situation.

At the moment, the other two officers had already been attracted by the situation here. They could not clearly tell what was happening, but they could pick up bits of the situation.

Unfortunately, they could not approach to know what was happening, as they still needed to inspect the other cars passing by.

As for the motorists that were driving by, they were also quite curious about what was happening here. But in the end, after the inspection of their cars was completed, they had no other choice but to drive away.

"Where is the driver's license that you were given?" The sergeant asked as he looked at the officer with narrowed eyes.

By this time, the sergeant did not believe that the card that had been given by Michael was a membership card. The probability of that was quite low.

Upon hearing the question, the officers complexion turned paler. He remembered, he had thrown the card down, before he stomped on it. There was a possibility that it had broken?

Thinking about it, he quickly rushed towards the car, before he picked up the card that he had thrown down before. He examined it, only to realize that apart from a few scratches, nothing had happened to the card.

This made him feel relieved, but at the same time shocked. He wondered, what kind of material was used to make this card, to the extent that, despite him using his boots to stomp on it against the tarmac, it had not broken.

Regardless, he gazed at Michael, who completely ignored him, before he rapidly went back to the sergeant's side. After that, he handed over the card.

Taking the card, the sergeant could not help but be surprised. Even he himself had never seen a driving license like this, despite his extensive knowledge.

He gazed at the young man who was sitting calmly in the car, before he took a deep breath and observed the card closely.

He could see that on the front of the card, there was the name, Michael Santos. And on the back, there was a QR code.

Without hesitation, he quickly rushed back to the booth, before he came back with a handheld terminal that was usually used to access the government database for the traffic department.

He scanned the QR code behind the card with a handheld terminal, waiting as the device queried the central database.

The screen flickered briefly as the device connected, then populated with the driver's details, which left him completely dumbfounded, as he felt his body suddenly beginning to shake slightly.
