Chapter 89: Did You not Just Meet Him?

For a moment, Michael looked at Alex, wondering if this guy was an idiot or something?

They were just talking about something else, how did it suddenly take such a turn?

"What?" Looking at the gazes that he was receiving, Alex seemed totally clueless, as he asked with a puzzled expression on his face.

Michael did not bother to respond, as he simply shook his head.

"Anyway, I need to go back to my place first. After that, I will be coming over to look for you." Michael stated as he headed towards his Koenigsegg Regera.

Martin followed behind him, but was stopped by Michael, "There is no need to follow me all the way. You can just go back and continue with your work."

"Okay." Martin nodded, but did not leave immediately.

Alex on the other hand quickly shouted at Michael, "Hey, you better keep your word. This time, I will show you some skills. You won against me in the racing competition, but I doubt that you will be able to win this time."

"Maybe. This is after all my first time trying something like this." Michael responded offhandedly.

"Haha! Then you are in for a ride! This time, I will surely make you lose face. So, when you come over, you better be prepared." Alex burst out in laughter as he said those words.

Michael simply shrugged his shoulders, before he got into the Koenigsegg, and drove away.

On the other hand, after his laughter subsided, Alex noticed that Martin was looking at him.

"Ahem! Mr. Alonso, is there something that you need from me?" Alex asked, a slightly puzzled expression on his face.

"Do you know Mr. Santos? Are the two of you really close?" Martin asked while observing Alex.

"Hmm... How should I say this? It's like this, we have only met once. But still, I feel that we hit it off from the start, and a friendship between us is not something impossible to form." Alex responded honestly.

Martin nodded his head as he said, "It is no wonder. Anyway, there is no need for you to look for the chairman, he has already left."

"Ah? But I was informed that he was supposed to be arriving this afternoon. Why was I not informed that he had already arrived earlier?" Alex questioned with a dumbfounded expression on his face.

Martin turned around, heading for the elevator. At the same time, he said, "Did you not just meet him right now?"

His words left Alex completely dumbfounded. He was puzzled, he had already met the chairman? Why was it that he could not remember?

But only a few seconds later, it suddenly hit him. The only other person that he had talked to ever since he arrived was Michael.

Was it possible that Michael was the chairman of Sky Technologies? That was actually possible, considering that he was being escorted by Martin.

Additionally, just by looking at how Martin behaved around Michael, it was clear that he was respectful to Michael. So, it was actually true that Michael was the chairman of Sky Technologies?

This left Alex dumbfounded, as he stared in the direction that Michael had left long ago. This guy, just what was his background?

First of all, to be able to convince Koenigsegg to produce another car for him, then now, easily acquiring such a big company...

No matter how much he thought about it, only those big families from the central province had such capabilities.

And, not just anyone from the central province, but from the capital city. The capital city was the main base of the biggest corporations in the nation, and the big families as well.

"It seems, I have to be careful around him. If I mess something up, my family will not be able to handle the consequences.

And, it seems that I will have to inform the others to be careful as well. If someone suddenly provokes this guy, without knowing his personality well, nobody could tell the consequences." Alex mumbled to himself.

Immediately after that, he took out his phone, before making a call.

In just a few moments, the call connected, before a feminine voice came from the other end.

"Alex? What is it? Are you trying to shirk the responsibility that you were given? Let me tell you, I am currently held up. And, even if I leave now, I won't get there on time. So, it is impossible for me to take over right now. You better make sure that you don't mess things up."

Alex scratched his head slightly before he responded, "Actually, I have kind of partially completed the task. But, I'm not really sure if I will be able to form the connection that you need. Maybe, could you give me some support?"

"What do you mean by partially completing the task? And, have you not just arrived there? I have been informed that you have not even arrived in the reception area. Are you currently in the parking lot?" The feminine voice threw out a barrage of questions.

"Ah... Sis, are you sure that you are busy? How come you are paying so much attention to my movements?" Alex asked, confused.

"Don't you know that what you are handling is more important than what I'm doing? Had it not been that I would not be able to get there on time, I would have handled that matter instead." The feminine voice responded in a harsh tone.

"Okay... Anyway, I just realized that the new chairman of Sky Technologies is someone that I know. I have just met with them, and have made an appointment, we will be meeting up at 3 p.m.

At that time, I will try to see if we can get some kind of collaboration or cooperation with him. What do you think?" Alex responded in a slightly timid voice.

"Seriously? Anyway, if that is the case, make sure that you try. But, don't force things. In fact, for the negotiations, I will be coming over.

We have got some interest in some of the future projects of Sky Technologies. As long as we can convince him to hand them over to us, it will be quite beneficial for the family's growth.

Send me the location, I will be over there in a while as soon as I'm done with what I'm doing here. Probably, I should be able to get there on time." The lady responded.

"Sure. I will pin you the location later on." Alex responded, before he ended the call.

....

Michael on the other hand went back to his apartment. Immediately after getting back, he began reading the compiled information on marksmanship.

For the current situation, he did not need this skill to reach the expert level. Just the intermediate level was going to be enough.

In fact, even at the beginner level, it should be enough for him to be able to handle some competition from Alex and the others.

After all, just by depending on his current physical abilities, he should be able to handle most of the guns. But, he should at least have some skill, not do things roughly.

And since he was simply targeting the intermediate level, he was able to get it in just slightly over an hour.

With this out of the way, Michael looked at the time, realizing that it was already approaching 3 p.m. So, he texted Alex, asking him to send him the exact location.

Alex: {Losto Shooting Range.}

Accompanying the text was a pinned location, indicating that Alex had probably already arrived at the location.

Looking at the text that Alex had sent him, Michael went online, before he searched for Losto Shooting Range.

He was able to easily find the information on this shooting range online. As he looked at the information, it seemed that it was just as he had anticipated.

Losto Shooting Range was located on the edge of the city's commercial district. Though open to the public, access was strictly limited to registered members who passed through biometric checkpoints before entering.

Inside, the facility offered climate-controlled shooting lanes fitted with advanced targeting systems, a dedicated long-range hall for rifles, precision-pistol bays, and a simulation room designed for moving and reactive targets.

A secured armory, firearm maintenance workshop, and a central control room completed the setup, making Losto one of the most refined member-only shooting ranges in the city.

Michael had already anticipated that the place that Alex and the others would go to would be quite high end. And as expected, according to the information, this place was quite expensive to go to.

It was not that easy to be able to acquire the membership, as it was not just about money. One needed to have some influence within the city, in order to qualify for the membership.

As for the pricing, it was quite simple. It required a one-time initiation fee of $7,500, followed by a monthly fee of $300 to maintain access.

These fees covered the use of all facilities, from the standard shooting lanes to the advanced simulation rooms and long-range rifle hall.

Having already received the location, Michael did not linger, as he immediately headed for the shooting range.
