MOBA Game Apocalypse

Chapter 122: Sweet Dilemma

[Name: Adam | Planet: SS4E | Strength: 18 Agility: 1 Endurance: 1 Perception: 1]

[3 Status Points Available]

"Hm…"

Adam stared at the floating messages in front of him, still a little bewildered at this development. More and more status points piled up in him as they carved through the cavern and the monsters—he was trying to see how many feinors it took for him to gain points, but his mind wasn't working properly.

What… did this even mean? Adam initially thought that the 7 Status Points that the Game had given him at the end of the last Game were their so-called gift to him when he turned into a Hero.

…But that wasn't the case at all.

This was the gift. And although Adam was quite unaware of most things related to the Game, he knew that this was… different.

Heroes weren't supposed to level up—only Creeps were able to do that, and even that had limits. The only way Heroes grow stronger was that if they train their bodies and master the abilities that have been given to them.

Other than that, they work with what they have; that was why there were rarely any Heroes climbing up their Hero tiers, and the reason why the Creeps try to contribute and stand out as much as possible from the rest—to be gifted greater power.

But now, here was Adam, still having access to his status.

[3 Status Points Available]

Oh, where should you put them, Adam? Do these Status Points even have the same effect as when you were a Creep? Or maybe they are weaker now, right?

Adam was at a loss as to what to do. He thought about it. If these Status points still held the value they had, the value that simply multiplied from his base traits…

…then wouldn't this be quite powerful?

Adam may not know much about all this Hero stuff—but he wasn't dense enough to think that what he had here had the potential to be really… really strong.

"Hmm…" Adam squinted, placing his hand on his chin while walking. The sisters, walking behind him, noticed this. But they just looked at each other before leaving Adam alone.

…They thought he was probably disappointed that the Game didn't grant him power.

Oh, how wrong they were.

…Agility, maybe?

He already had 18 Strength, putting three more might make him a lot stronger—but at this point, he wanted to see just how effective these points were. And so, after thinking about it for almost an entire hour… he put it all on Agility.

[Name: Adam | Planet: SS4E | Strength: 18 Agility: 4 Endurance: 1 Perception: 1]

"Oh…" He thought it wouldn't be as painful—but he was wrong. Pain exploded through his nervous system. But not the done-deep agony he was used to, no. This one was… a sharper pain.

It felt similar to when he was being electrocuted, targeting each end of his nerves. He felt his muscles stretch, his balance shifting to the point he almost tumbled forward.

He had to bit down on his tongue to keep himself walking forward.

"Sir Adam?" Sylvie noticed the change in his gait. "Are you tired? Do you wish to rest?"

"Sis, please…" Clementine waved her off and then flashed a cheeky smirk at her. "Adam doesn't get tired. Trust me, I know it."

"And what does that mean?" Sylvie furrowed.

"Who knows," Clementine whispered, shrugging while letting out a small giggle as she slowly looked away. "Who knows. All I'm saying is that we've spent a lot of time alone together. You know, more than you."

"What…?"

And while the two began quietly… instigating each other, Adam couldn't hear them at all as he was busy with his own thoughts.

Should you tell them, Adam? Sylvie saved you from the Hospital, and Clementine trained you—if anything, you should consider them as friends… and you do trust them, don't you?

The question is… do they trust you? Do they trust you enough that they won't be like those people in the White Room? Do they trust you with this… power?

Adam shook his head off of the thoughts he was having. There were… a lot of issues he needed to tackle first. And in the first place, he needed more information about his own abilities before he could actually tell anyone about it.

He himself doesn't understand the extent of it just yet.

And so, he chose to keep quiet for now and continued to walk. And soon, the cavern opened into a massive chamber ahead, and Adam could hear… voices.

"Ah, merde, where are zey?" A man's voice echoed. "The madame said zey would be 'ere by now."

"Patience, Hugo," a woman replied. "Ze Boss, it sleeps still. We 'ave time. We—Hm?"

And as Adam emerged into the chamber, the owners of the voices turned toward them. The first was a mountain of a man with arms like tree trunks and a ball crackling with blue energy—[Hugo, the Magic Baller].

Beside him stood a lean figure in fitting armor that seemed to shift and flow like liquid metal—[Xavier, the Agile Wall].

The third was a petite woman whose red hair seemed to flicker like actual flames—[Margaux, the Whisper of Fire.]

"Enfin!" Hugo grinned, spreading his arms wide. "Ze famous sisters return! And zey bring... Oh? Now, who is zis little one?"

"Adam," Clementine said simply. "Treat him as one of us."

Margaux stepped closer, her flame-colored eyes studying Adam's face with growing recognition. "Wait... wait, I know zis face." Her eyes widened. "You are ze one! Ze one Sylvie kissed in the—"

"Margaux," Sylvie's voice interrupted her. But…

"—kissed on ze livestream!" Margaux finished with a delighted laugh.

"Margaux!" Sylve raised her voice. But alas, it was too late—that was all everyone could think about now, even Adam.

He'd forgotten about it due to everything that had happened… but something like that did happen, right? But these people were misunderstanding it… she wasn't kissing him, he remembered it more vividly now.

Sylvie was licking his cheek back then. But… why?

Adam glanced at Sylvie… and she quickly looked away from him.

"So, are you the Mesdame's boyfriend?"
