Magical Soul Parade

Chapter 64: Chaos and Madness

Their blows clashed with a resounding Boom, sending a shockwave of distorted air that rippled outward from the impact.

He caught it?! Finn's eyes widened in shock, as right before him, Nathaniel — the gray-robed man, had grabbed his fist with an open palm.

Finn wriggled his fist out of Nathaniel's hold, jumping a step back quickly. And immediately, Nathaniel's arm dropped to his side, dangling uselessly. The bones in his arm had snapped terribly from the impact, but yet the man didn't bat a single eye. Instead, his smile widened, splitting his face into a rictus of pure, unadulterated joy.

He charged at Finn again, cackling madly. "More! More! More! Show me more!"

His broken arm flopped around without care for pain as he charged at Finn, who lashed out with blow after blow to keep the madman at bay.

Yet again, Finn scored a sickening blow that shattered the bones in Nathaniel's arm — this time, his good arm. But unlike before, instead of simply grabbing Finn's fist, the man transitioned quickly after the hit and trapped Finn's arm in a lock, drawing him close.

Finn snarled and unleashed a headbutted with his superior strength, nullifying the advantage the man had created, widening the gap again.

But not without cost.

As Finn reeled from the headbutt, shaking his head to clear his vision, he felt a searing pain flare at his sides.

Immediately, he glanced down and saw a large gash with blood streaming out like a river. What? When?! Finn refocused on Nathaniel quickly, gritting his teeth.

This madman! He doesn't give a damn about himself as long as he can cause me harm!

Right in front of Finn, Nathaniel grinned with ecstasy, holding up his right arm that Finn had broken earlier. His pale white bone jutted out with a sickening sharp edge. Somehow, the man had snapped his arm from a fracture point and created a weapon out of his own bone, using it to injure Finn when he least expected it.

Blood spurted out like a fountain from the mangled veins and blood vessels Finn could see from where he stood. Coupled with the sick grin on Nathaniel's face, his entire visage could send a shiver down anyone's spine. This was a man prepared to unrelentlessly keep coming at Finn like a zombie without any care for his own well-being.

If Finn had been fully sane, he could have thought things through logically, and maybe considered a strategic retreat or at least looked for an alternative solution. But he was fully immersed in the Crimson Fist Baboon soul mass embodiment. All he saw before him was a threat, and he wanted to put it down.

The only saving grace was that, at least, he still recognized that to put the threat down, he needed to do something more.

"Come out, Syf!" He yelled with a roar, charging at the cackling madman.

The shadows beneath his feet exploded. And immediately, Syf, in her massive form, erupted from the floor like a geyser of darkness.

Without hesitation, even while still forming from Finn's shadow, she lunged at Nathaniel with her jaws wide open, clamping down on his shoulder with enough force to chomp a man's torso in two.

Needless to say, nearly half of Nathaniel's side disappeared cleanly. His body was tossed into the air like a ragdoll as Syf crunched on the half of him she had chomped off.

He landed a short distance away, tumbling on the ground like a broken puppet.

But Finn wasn't finished.

He dashed forward immediately, joined by Syf who spat out Nathaniel's body parts and looked intent to get more.

"Kekeke… I knew you were holding out on me," Nathaniel somehow still spoke despite his mangled body. "Good. Let me show you more too…" his voice came out in an eerie chuckle that sent Finn's hair rising just as he and Syf reached to pulverize his remains.

…[Chaotic Reassembly]

Instantly, despite the courage and brazenness from the Crimson Fist Baboon embodiment, Finn reared back at the speed of light, leaping away just as he felt the skin on his outstretched fist unravel.

He glanced at his fist, which had been devoured cleanly of his skin, showing the white bones underneath. It had been devoured so cleanly that Finn could see the lag time between the untouched pink flesh at the edges and the blood which finally began to flow to the open wound.

Some semblance of sanity returned to Finn as he broke his immersion, and with a horrified expression, he watched the spectacle occurring before his eyes.

What the hell kind of magic is that…?!

Around Nathaniel's mangled body, the air distorted and twisted with the same dangerous thing that had nearly wiped his fist from existence. Syf had also come in contact with this same thing, and it had immediately unraveled her form, sending her back into his shadow instantly.

Chaos.

To Finn's soul, he could clearly sense chaos in its raw and unbridled form. It destroyed matter within the radius of Nathaniel's body, using it to chaotically reassemble his body at a rate visible to Finn.

His mangled side grew at a rapid pace. His broken arms formed bones and stitched blood vessels, flesh, and skin before Finn's eyes. Every injury healed, returning his body to a whole state, and with even better sturdiness.

Nathaniel stood up slowly, staring Finn dead in the eye with his signature sick grin. Slowly, the chaos surrounding him dispersed, and he let out a soft sigh of contentment.

"Ahhh! That look of utter shock on your face right now…" his voice trembled in a raspy squeal. Slowly he reached for his nether region. "It's making me fucking hard!!"

Finn's face spoiled immediately. "You sick animal," he growled, taking a steady step forward. "I don't care how many times I have to kill you, whether it is ten times, twenty, fifty, a hundred… No matter how long it takes, your weird magic will no longer work, and you will die."

"Come out! Syf!" He roared.

Immediately, his shadow squirmed and shifted. Syf's form morphed with a vengeance… but at the crucial point—

Failed?!

Finn's eyes widened in shock, and he tried again, this time with more intent and a guttural roar.

"Come out! Syf!!"

His shadow shifted and squirmed again. He could feel Syf's mass try to form through his link to her tethered soul within him, but no matter how much they both tried, she failed to break past the last step and actually morph into a corporeal form.

Slowly, Nathaniel began to chuckle, at first lightly. But as Finn tried over and over again, he devolved into a fit of chilling manic laughter that soured Finn's already angry mood further.

Finn had clearly realized that the same chaos that had devoured the skin on his fist had also done a number on Syf. But it seemed the effect on a shadow manifestation like her, went way deeper than it did to him.

"What. The fuck. Did you do?!" Finn seethed through clenched teeth. Trying to calm his boiling anger as Nathaniel cackled at his expense, laughing with a high pitched whine like a hyena.
