"Hahaha, hehehe."
In the forest, standing above a tree, Dante observed a few stone fur monkeys fighting each other, laughing like a psychopath in secret.
'I understand it now. I finally understand that blood-red crap!'
One of the stone fur monkeys that had intense blood-red luck had bumped into a female monkey, leading to a fight between it and what seemed to be the female monkey's partner.
When that fight started, the blood-red luck's intensity kept increasing until this moment.
After fighting for a few minutes, the stone fur monkey that came to protect his partner lost and ran away, then the winner took the female with some hints of increased pink luck.
'It doesn't mean death. It represents concepts like fights and wars. Death was only one possibility of a fight, and misfortune increased the chance of that possibility!'
That was why Demonic Jinx increased only this color of all other colors. It added misfortune to fights, increasing the chance of death.
'This also might be how the baron died. He died while fighting the frost elves. My spell was effective all the time!'
With that realization came the new effect of the coin spell. Now, he couldn't only detect misfortune, but by using demonic energy, he could also detect the possibility of having a fight!
'This can be useful to have a more accurate prediction of the misfortune that awaits me. It can help me to know if I'm going to face a moving enemy or just some traps, for example.'
Dante finally let out a breath of relief, adjusting his body slightly to prevent himself from falling off the tree.
Learning about luck by observing wasn't easy at all. Three whole weeks had passed since Elizabeth left him to return to her kingdom.
Following the advice of his fellow transmigrator, Dante worked so hard to improve himself as effectively as possible.
His routine was to read in the library, complete a quest, read about chaos, some random self learning, sleep, and repeat.
So now, after everything he had done, he was confident that if he fought his old self from three weeks ago, he could easily defeat him without needing Fafnir.
'Even chaos energy wouldn't be needed.'
Feeling bored, Dante stared at the stone fur monkey that was mindlessly mating with the female.
'Tsk, get a cave you two.'
All of a sudden, the monkey started to feel a headache. It ignored it and continued mating, but it kept increasing until it became unbearable.
The monkey suddenly screamed, its eyes turning blood-red, and went toward the nearest tree.
BAM! BAM! BAM!
The monkey hit its head brutally on the tree, its blood splashing all over the place.
The female monkey seized the opportunity and ran away, but the monkey simply continued hitting itself.
The headache became more and more unbearable, and after a moment, the monkey was barely able to move itself.
Bam!
Finally, it hit itself weakly one last time, killing itself and stopping the agony.
Dante watched all that silently, his lips curling into a faint smile.
'My first mental attack, huh?'
Dante flexed his hand, enjoying the sight of an energy that was flickering between white and black covering his fingers.
Unlike mana, it was chaotic and unstable, refusing to stay in one place without trembling and moving.
It was chaos energy, an energy that shouldn't have existed in this world.
'All that reading wasn't worthless. I'll find a way to resist that magic someday.'
The memories of his struggles to read two lines without taking a break for two hours resurfaced in his mind.
The more he read, the stronger the book affected his eyes. It was a real hell to read. Even after three weeks, he still didn't finish even half the book.
Mainly because he had to practice what he read rather than memorizing everything mindlessly.
As Dante rested against the tree, the definition of the chaos energy flashed in his mind.
``Chaos Energy is not evil, unlike how some cultures portray it. But it looks evil because of its refusal for stability.
No matter how we tried, whether we used science, supernatural abilities, or both—we couldn't make it stable in any way.
Thus, we gave it the name Chaos Energy.
Unlike mana, it's almost impossible to affect the chaos energy by an aspect. I was able to do that because of my Crown, but I couldn't find a way to add an aspect to chaos energy without it.
In other words, you'll likely have to use it in its raw form, unlike how I usually use it. But don't worry—even in its raw form, it's still able to create miracles.
After all, in its raw form, it was able to shatter space and send me thousands, millions, or billions of light years away from Earth.
And remember, only because I couldn't doesn't mean you can't. All you need is an open mind and some experiments to see the limits of this beautiful energy.
So, how do you start?
Firstly, you need chaos energy.
Unfortunately, this energy doesn't exist in this world. It was something exclusive for our dear Earth.
But thankfully, I was able to find a method to turn mana into chaos energy. It's a hard and slow process. But once you master it, it won't take a single second for you to use it in a fight.
Remember, don't share this method with anyone that isn't from Earth. We have a natural affinity for chaos energy. But if someone from this world tried to use it…
Let's just say even I don't know the terrifying things that will happen to them.``
'Maybe something like turning into a tentacle monster? I might share this method intentionally, in fact.'
Oh, how cool it would be to turn his energy into a lunatic without raising a finger. He could take advantage of someone's curiosity to defeat them easily…
'Well, unless I was unlucky enough to fight another transmigrator. That would be a problem.'
Dante shook his head and raised his hand, a faint, blue glow covering his index finger. Using this finger, he began to draw something in the air.
A magical circle that included several dangerous runes. Its main purpose was taking the properties of life, structure, and stability out of mana, converting it into chaos energy.
Once the runic circle was formed, Dante sent some of his mana through it. The mana came out from the other side as a chaotic energy that flickered rapidly between white and black.
That was how he could convert mana into chaos energy. He could then use this chaos energy to cast some spells which were in the book.
'Of course, I won't do this.'
Although he had finally learnt how to cast magic with runic drawing, he didn't find this method efficient.
It wasted a lot of time and the energy itself would be visible for his enemies. If they interacted with the process of converting mana into chaos energy, he'd fail to cast a single chaos spell.
'But I fixed this problem.'
For the past three weeks, Dante worked relentlessly to improve this method, using Sorcerer's Gift as the foundation of the new method.
Thankfully, he was able to do it.
Dante immediately used Shadowstep, teleporting to the monkey that lost its woman.
It was crawling on the ground, running away with shame on its face.
Dante gripped its head, lifting it above the ground. The monkey tried to scratch and kick Dante, but it was all meaningless. It didn't have any power left in its wounded body to throw a proper punch.
All of a sudden, a surge of chaos energy burst out of Dante's arm, entering the monkey's body.
Chaos Magic — Chaotic Mutations!
In an instant, the monkey's body began to change.
Its right arm split into two, revealing its bones that suddenly merged into a sharp bone blade.
Its lower part transformed into stone tentacles, and the fur on the upper part turned into brown slime.
The monkey opened its mouth widely, revealing rows of shark-like teeth. Then suddenly, an internal maw extended from the monkey's throat, aiming for Dante's neck.
Dante immediately dodged that attack and clenched his fist, exploding the monkey's head and killing it instantly.
But the body itself wasn't dead.
Before it could attack Dante again, Dante put it in shadow flames, burning it from the inside and outside.
It was just chaos.
That was why it was called Chaos Magic.
