Chapter 359: Dungeon Invasion (Part 9)

I unleashed several successive Mana Pulses, the skin around her neck rupturing and tearing apart as blood poured out of her mouth, before I thrust my blade towards her solar plexus.

She managed to get her left hand in the way right in the nick of time, the blade piercing through her palm and bursting out the back of her hand, the tip of the blade nicking the skin over the middle of her torso.

I swiftly let go of her and flew back as an unstable mass of Negative Energy shrouded her entire body, a furious scream ringing out as she unleashed it in a powerful eruption, coughing out blood as she flew back, gasping in agony as she struggle to stay in the air.

"Aria, go find a Healer, immediately. Acedia, guard the Chairwoman's body," I remarked as I glanced back.

"I-...okay, I'll be back as quickly as possible," Responded Aria with a conflicted look on her face, before flying off rapidly, as Acedia swooped down towards Charlotte and stood guard over her body.

It's most likely futile, those injuries are severe, it may well be too late for even an Ace Healer to save her.

Even so...

"I don't know why I've been targeted, but by the time I'm done with you, you will regret coming after me. Or maybe you already do," I stated as I narrowed my eyes at the Archdemon.

"D-Damn it, my strength is not returning! I-I will need more time now. Wh-What have you done to me?!" She exclaimed as she healed herself, but still looked shaky and unsteady.

Hm? More time? For what?

No, it doesn't matter...I have no intention of letting her buy the time she needs for whatever it is she's planning.

I'll kill her well before that.

"And why would I answer any of your questions?" I inquired icily, before I shot towards her.

She zipped across the air in alarm, glancing back with a grimace as I steadily closed the gap between us and whipped my arm across, firing out a slashing wave of Negative Energy towards her.

She narrowly evaded the attack, before spinning around crossing her arms in front of herself as I unleashed a concentrated blast of Negative Energy, blowing her away as the attack struck her arms and erupted fiercely, a cry of pain ringing out.

As she hurtled back through the air, she brought herself to a halt by spreading out her wings, her eyes widening in alarm as she quickly veered down as I fired a volley of Negative Energy arrows towards her, a few grazing her as she just barely avoided any direct hits.

I swooped down and chased after her, whipping my blade across as I closed in on her.

She began to fly back, before crying out in pain as I slashed her eyes and blinded her, grabbing the top of her head and unleashing several consecutive Mana Pulses, tightening my grip as I lifted my arm and whipped it down with a snap, hurling her towards the ground.

A deafening crash rang out as she slammed onto the ground with a devastating impact, a cloud of dust rising up as deep cracks spread out across the ground, a weak, agonized gasp ringing out from amidst the dust cloud.

I zipped into the dust cloud, driving my left foot down and slamming it onto the middle of her chest, a loud crunch ringing out as I shattered her ribs upon impact, blood bursting out of her mouth as she wheezed in pain.

Hm, she landed a bit close to where Charlotte is laying, I should be more careful...fortunately, it looks like Acedia shielded her from the shockwave.

I wonder, why didn't the Archdemon attack at all towards the end?

She only evaded, she didn't use any attacks to try and slow me down...even if her Negative Energy Generation is unstable thanks to Mana Pulse, she's still able to cast it, so why didn't she?

I suppose it doesn't really matter, it'll be irrelevant once she's dead. And on that note, it's time to end this...

"Now, you die," I remarked coldly, as I raised my blade.

"Over there!" Came Aria's voice from a short distance away, my gaze shifting in that direction, to see Isla by her side, along with Cameron Del, the Demonsbane Guild's Ace Healer.

"I-I finally linked it!" Suddenly exclaimed the Archdemon, my attention shifting back towards her, before she chanted as I drove my blade down towards her Core, "[Demonic Art: Warp Gate]!"

My body froze in place as a dark blue shimmer spread out across the ground around her, expanding rapidly, the glow getting brighter and brighter with each passing second, as I strained against it to try and move, but to no avail.

The shimmer had engulfed Charlotte and Acedia as well, spanning a radius of about twenty-five meters around the Archdemon, Acedia unable to move too.

What is this?

"No! Kai!" Yelled Aria, as she raced towards us, before coming to an abrupt halt as she crashed onto a invisible force field at the edge of the shimmer.

She repeatedly slammed her fists against it in desperation, but to no avail, the glow of the shimmer suddenly spiking intensely, blindingly bright as she called out my name, her voice fading away as everything went white...

I blinked as the bright light faded, before looking around in perplexity, as I found myself in the midst of a forest.

What just-...?

My foot suddenly got pushed off the Archdemon's body as she unleashed a Negative Energy burst, scrambling onto her feet frantically and shakily backing away.

She flinched as I met her gaze, before spreading out her wings and zipping up into the air, flying away as fast as she could.

I don't know what just happened, but I'm not letting her get aw-...

I paused as a weak groan suddenly rang out, turning my attention that way, to see Charlotte regaining consciousness, her eyelids fluttering open before she gasped in pain and stiffened, coughing out blood.

I briefly glanced back at the retreating Archdemon, before hurrying over to Charlotte's side, deactivating my power boosts.

Fenelza Zazzeka...this isn't over, I will kill you, you can count on it...
