I flew back towards the cliff, landing on it as one of the King Ants shot towards me, swooping down with a vicious snarl and driving its claws down towards me.

I twisted my body across as it closed in, its claws zipping past the front of my chest, before I grabbed its arm and swung it up, before snapping my arm down and slamming the Monster against the top of the cliff.

I swiftly let go of its arm as it began to try and claw my hand off with its other arm, before scrambling back onto its feet and lunging at me.

I leapt up and over it, planting my right foot against the top of its head and kicking off, knocking it off-balance before I spun around as I landed behind it and slashed at the back of its head with my blade.

It quickly spun around and sprang back as it crossed its arms in front of itself, deep gashes appearing across the middle of its forearms as my blade sliced right through its exoskeleton.

I swiftly fired out a concentrated blast of Negative Energy at it from my left hand, deep cracks spreading out across the exoskeleton over its arms around the spots I'd slashed as the blast collided against it, blowing its arms back and leaving it vulnerable.

I leapt forward and slammed my palm against the middle of its torso, unleashing Mana Pulse upon impact, the King Ant shuddering with an agonized chitter, before I swiftly whipped my right arm across, slicing through its neck before it could react and decapitating it.

Good, looks like I can more than hold my own against an average Calamity Level Monster in my base form now, I didn't expect it to be this easy.

How are the others doing?

Looks like Acedia took one down too, and he's now joined the others, who are fighting the remaining two.

Invidia's missing his right arm, Luxuria's got a deep stab wound in her stomach and Superbia's sustained a few scratches.

I swiftly used Ravage on the King Ant I'd just killed, before locking my gaze onto the King Ants fighting the others...

"<Command: Don't Move>."

As the two of them froze in place, the others swiftly cut them down before they could break free of the effect.

I turned my attention back to the anthill, blasting it with a barrage of Negative Energy blasts, the others following my lead.

A few more ant Monsters emerged as we steadily began to bring the large, looming structure down, thick chunks of dirt falling off and plummeting down, breaking apart as they collided against the massive pile of corpses below.

We shot down the remaining Monsters without any trouble, before I leapt down off the cliff, a slight crunch echoing out as I landed on the piled up corpses, before extending Ravage out and chomping through the pile, making my way towards the King Ants the others had killed, eating them up whole the others continued blasting the anthill, most of the structure having collapsed.

"<Are we going in there to clean up any stragglers, Boss>?" Inquired Invidia, approaching me as I continuing mowing through the corpses with the jaws of Ravage.

"No, it's too risky, there's a good chance we'll end up getting buried. The Queen didn't emerge, but I'd say there's a pretty strong possibility that she just buried and crushed somewhere in there," I remarked, as the others gathered around me.

"<Agreed, there's no real reason for us to head in there. We just killed several thousands of these ant Monsters, it should be enough, right>?" Responded Superbia, a glimpse of the ground coming into sight as I wolfed down a large number of the corpses.

"Should be, guess I'll find out soon enough," I replied with a wry smile.

"<Yeah, I don't think it'll be all that soon. It's gonna take a while to eat up all these bodies>," Chimed in Luxuria.

Uh-huh, that's for sure.

It's too bad Void doesn't have the effects of Devour and Drain, this would go a hell of a lot faster if that was the case.

I suppose I don't have a choice but to-...hm?

I stopped as I sensed some strong bloodlust directed at me, right as a sharp, enraged screech rang out, a King Ant bursting out of the large pile of dirt that was left of the anthill, exuding immense fury and rage.

This one's Aura is a lot stronger and more intense than the four that showed up earlier...

Oh, yeah? Alright, then...

"Stand back, guys. I'll take this one on myself," I remarked, cracking my neck with a tilt of my head, before I shot towards the King Ant.

Based on the immense murderous rage I'm sensing from it, I'm guessing I was right and we did end up crushing the Queen Ant of this colony when we blasted the anthill to the ground.

It let out a threatening chitter before sprinting towards me, zipping up a few meters into the air as it began to close in on me, before swooping down with immense speed and driving its claws towards the middle of my chest.

Cracks spread out across its claws as I raised Desecrator up, blocking its thrust with my blade, before it grazed my right bicep as its claws slid across my blade, the Monster shooting past me.

I spun around as it slipped behind me, a sharp clang ringing out as I narrowly blocked a slash of its claws with the face of my blade, my feet sliding back slightly across the pile of corpses below.

Damn, this thing packs a real punch, I'm feeling pretty worn out at this point, and the uneven footing below further ups the challenge...alright, then, let's see if I can take it down in my base form...
