After making all the preparations, Weiss finally left the tavern where she was supposed to meet this man.

Elise also came with her but she was not going to enter the tavern and instead would wait outside and keep an eye on the situation. She was actually quite good at covert operations like this.

As Weiss entered the tavern in question, a strong scent of alcohol reached her nose. This place was not a very luxurious establishment and instead was a cheap place with liquor with low prices.

As Weiss looked around, she soon found the man in question drinking in one of the tables placed at the corner of the tavern. There was no one else on that table except for him.

Weiss soon approached that table and sat down. From the amount of bottles on the table, it looked like he had been drinking for quite some time but he still did not look drunk at all.

But it was actually common for any official Knights. Without actively controlling ones resistance of alcohol, it was quite hard for a knight to get drunk with regular liquor.

Seeing Weiss, he smiled a little and then offered her a cup. And even though Weiss had no fondness for alcohol, she still gulped it down. It was something necessary to do in order to start the negotiation in a positive note.

As for the chance of this alcohol having poison, it was not low. But Weiss had taken precautions for something like this too.

Just as she had swallowed the alcohol, she had used her life force to completely cover it. This way, even if there was anything adverse in this liquid, it was completely isolated from her body. She had also prepared several kinds of antidotes beforehand.

But after checking the alcohol inside her body, Weiss found that she was worrying for nothing. Her life force had managed to break the alcohol pretty easily and it was also perfectly fine without any signs of poison.

Seeing Weiss gulping down the mug, the man laughed out loud and took a heavy sip from his own mug. Then he suddenly took out an object from his pocket that looked like a paperweight.

As he put it on the table,Weiss was able to feel some kind of mysterious energy was actived and this energy was not life force.

From this Weiss gusessed that it could only be magic. So she looked at the item on the table with a lot of surprise and curiosity.

And it looked like the man was pleased with the reaction that Weiss had given. So he enjoyed the sense of superiority and fulfillment for a moment before speaking up -

"Hahaha, I want to thank young miss for joining me in drinking on this fine evening. It had truly been my pleasure. So please allow me to take care of all the drinks for the night. By the way, I think you're already aware but still, let me introduce myself. My name is Mathius Bornell, a humble merchant of mystical wares."

Weiss gave a little curtsied and introduced herself too.

"I am Weiss Souran. A Baroness from a remote northern territory of this Brightshine kingdom."

Mathius was a bit suprised after learning this. For him, anyone below the rank of a count was not worth anything as they were too poor to do any kind of trade with him. That was why he was a little surprised.

But still, it was very much possible that this baroness lady was a subordinate or wife of a higher ranking noble and she was here in their behalf. From the little glimpses of what he had seen of hers, this lady was definitely a beauty.

So Mathius did not become disappointed and instead asked her what she wanted from him very directly.

This was actually something that Weiss liked. So she was also very straight forward with her reply.

"I want know how can I go to the magus world ?"

This was the main question that Weiss had in her mind. If she could go to the world of the magus, her options would completely open up. She did not need to be introduced to a magus and just needed to know of a way to go there.

Hearing this question, Mathius lifted his eye brows. It looked like the costumer for the day was a bit special. So far, all the people who had done business with him had only thought of his gadgets to be mysterious but they had no idea about their origins.

But this lady here was different. The way she mentioned the magus world, it looked like not only she knew about its existence, she probably was also aware of a few things about it.

In that case, there was a high possibility that this lady had an ancestor who was from the magus world or she had found something related to someone from that world.

So before giving any answers to Weiss, Mathius asked her a question in a very serious tone. He also realised his aura of a peak level Knight.

Weiss noticed that even though he was releasing his aura in full force, it was not effecting anyone else in the tavern. Weiss immediately guesses that this was probably the effect of the paperweight like item from before.

But she had no need to panick about this situation. Even though this man was strong and had many mysterious objects with him, Weiss was still confident in getting away from here with her life intact.

So she calmly answered the question that was asked of her. She told him that her ancestor was from the magus world and after getting his inheritance, now she was trying to go back there.

Weiss did not feel like hiding this. It was not a very surprising thing anyway to anyone who knew about the magus world.

So, Weiss did not lie and told him the complete truth. And if he had some kind of magical device to detect lies, even then she would be perfectly fine as she was telling the truth.

In Mathius's eyes, Weiss was just a low level knight. So he was very impressed by her managing to stay calm before his pressure.

He was also satisfied by her answer. It was not uncommon for failed magus apprentices to come back to their home world. So whatever Weiss said sounded perfectly true.

So for the time being, he decided to give an answer to the question that she had asked first. Only then he would ask for the price of this information.
