Magus: Rise of the Darkness Empress

Chapter 89: Ch 89: Toward the Second Floor

Weiss rested her body for about 6 hours before she started to move again. Normally she would need only 1 or 2 hours for her injuries to heal, but as her injuries this time was quite serious, she needed almost three times more time to somewhat heal them.

While she was resting, she had focused all her life force on the injury to make the healing process to be faster. During this time, all the functions of the life force in her body was paused. This was the most defenseless that Weiss had ever been.

Fortunately for her, after she had defeated the puppet here, there was no other danger left in the first floor. So even in her most defenseless state, Weiss was perfectly safe and sound.

...

After ending the break, she started of check her body by moving around and by flowing life force throughout the whole body.

After doing these, she still felt some pain in her left side and she was also having a little uncomfortable feeling when she was moving around.

But this current condition of hers was already much better than before. Even if she needed to fight again, she could do that without any trouble as she did not really consider pain to be a hindrance.

So after this, Weiss took out the orb that she had extracted from the giant puppet. She had not gotten the time to analyse to it and she was looking forward to doing just that.

After about half an hour, Weiss put away the orb with a light sigh. Just like fake cores that she had found, there were a few components of this orb that Weiss currently was not able to understand.

But there was a big difference between the fake cores from before and the orb currently in her hand. This orb was produced with much more complex technique compared to the fake cores.

If the fake cores were mass produced junks then this orb was a lifetime work of a master blacksmith. The difference in quality between them was equivalent to heaven and earth.

So even for Weiss, she would need some time to decipher the secrets of this orb. So for the time being, she put it away. After returning to the Souran territory, she could start researching on it.

So the next thing that Weiss needed to do was to finally destroy the wall that was separating the first floor from the ground one. And that was exactly what she was going to do now.

While standing before the stairs, she readied one of the broken arms of the large puppet. The metal it was made of was a very strong unknown one. It was also extremely good at conducting life force. So Weiss decided to use this as a blunt weapons to destroy the wall.

Even though her sword was also capable of doing this, a blunt weapon was inherently superior for demolition work. That was the reason why Weiss decided to use this impromptu arm as her weapon.

...

After Elise and Peria had heard what Weiss had said to them, they managed to calm down a little bit. But they were still extremely worried about her.

Fortunately, Weiss had given both of a them a map that clearly marked the location of the traps in the ground floor. So even without her, the two ladies here were at least not going to be troubled by these traps.

Still, they were unwilling to just sit in the room and wait. So they took out all the items that were kept in the room and started camping right before the stairs.

Not just that but they also started to investigate the wall that was blocking them. Both of the ladies tried of attack the wall in order to break it but failed to do so.

As for the result of the investigation, even though Elise's talent as a knight could be said to be a match for Weiss, her comprehension ability and intelligence was no where near her level.

So even after her best effort in investigating this wall, the only result that she was able to find was that the wall had a separate layer which was blocking all her attacks. As for what kind of thing this layer was made of, she had no idea.

But Elise had heard about the magus from Weiss. As this barrier was something that she had no understanding of, she immediately associated it with the work of a magus.

So even though she did not go through any logical deduction, Elise actually managed to reach the correct conclusion. But even though her conclusion was correct, this did not give her any idea about how to break this wall.

...

"I think we should try to find a different way to the first floor. I don't think all the path to it is blocked by the wall."

This was a suggestion that Peria gave. But Elise had something to refute it.

"I have already checked the whole castle. And even though it is hard to believe, I was not able to find even a single hole that was not covered by this metal wall."

Hearing this Peria became a bit distressed. This was the only idea that she could come up with. Seeing Peria's down mood, Elise tried to cheer her up.

"Don't worry, Peria. I don't think that this wall is unbreakable. If I go all out with the Storm Assualt, I think I can break it. Not just that but believe in mistress Weiss. She must have a way to break it."

These two ladies were discussing about this matter while eating the rations that they had brought with them. Then suddenly they started to hear very loud banging sounds and it was coming from behind the metal walls.

They immediately stopped eating and looked up toward the wall. And then, before their eyes, large cracks started to form on the solid, almost indestructible looking wall.

As the two ladies watched this with widened eyes, the wall broke apart and the figure of Weiss became visible. Currently she was wielding the large arm of the puppet and looked extremely valiant with her flowing black hair and cold expressionless face.

But seeing her like this did not make the two ladies impressed. And instead, they looked extremely worried. And the reason for this reaction was her torn blood soaked clothing and the still slightly visible wound on her body.

Elise and Peria immediately ran up to her and started to check her body. Seeing Weiss injured was something that they had not expected at all because of how strong she was.

That was why both Peria and Elise were this frantic. So Weiss took some time to explain to them what had happened and calmed then down after reassuring them that she was perfectly fine and would completely recover very soon.

After that, Weiss told them that they were going to rest until she had completely recovered. And after that, she alone would go to the second floor.

Elise and Peria had immediately tried to object to this decision but Weiss had forcefully shut them down.

From what she had seen in the first floor, the second floor was most probably the area where the mysterious Meister person did his experiments and research.

If this speculation was true then that floor was definitely going to be extremely dangerous. Weiss could not allow the other two ladies to step foot there without making sure that it was safe.

So what was waiting for her in the second floor ?
