SUPREME AWAKANED SENSE

Chapter 48: Memories: Mirror Dimension (7)

After everyone had entered the building for protection, Nox, watching the forest spread toward them, the wyverns, the specters, and the giant ravens already within range, sighed and then whispered...

"Mirror Dimension..."

In the blink of an eye, the world seemed frozen...

...

The world seemed frozen, as if time itself had stopped. The creatures of the forest, the wyverns, the specters, and the giant ravens, were suspended in the air, their movements interrupted as if caught in a moment of paralysis.

Soon, the building they were taking refuge in found itself in another dimension with unknown parameters, where space and time seemed to bend to Nox's desires.

The edifice was plunged into a strange and unknown universe, where the laws of physics seemed to be warped and bent to Nox's will. The walls of the building began to warp and stretch, as if space itself was reorganizing around them.

Johan and the others looked at each other, their eyes wide with astonishment, as the building transformed into a labyrinth of corridors and rooms that seemed to extend infinitely. The laws of gravity appeared no longer to apply, and they felt themselves floating in the air like leaves carried by the wind.

In front of them stood a calm and cold Nox.

"We are going to wage a defensive-offensive battle. Those who have reached Rank S are requested to join me outside," he said in a calm, composed voice.

"Outside? Why bring us out here after bringing us in? Aren't we safe here?" Johan asked, scrutinizing the dimension.

"Safe? Yes, perhaps, but the more people this place holds, the more energy it devours. I don't need to tell you that it won't hold up for long if all of us are here. To that end, the Rank A guardians will fight the monsters here, increasing their chance of survival considerably, as this is my domain. The others will be with me outside the dimension."

Following his explanation, those of Rank S were transported out of the dimension with a single thought.

"Captain, aren't you following them?" asked Jack, a young man with brown hair who was part of Kyralia's imperial guard.

"I never left the outside, Jack," he replied with a smile, much to Jack's incomprehension.

"More importantly, prepare yourselves. In case the monsters penetrate the dimension. They seem to be attracted to the dimension," he continued.

No sooner had he finished speaking than monsters invaded the dimension. Everyone was already in an attack position, ready to strike, but instead of attacking them, Nox watched them with a calm and confident smile.

"Welcome to my world," he said, his voice echoing through the universe. "Here, the rules are different. Here, I am the master."

The forest creatures stopped dead, as if under the influence of a spell. They stared at Nox with vacant eyes for a second before recovering.

...

Nox, who was still outside, found himself facing an army of forest creatures, which seemed to have been drawn by the power of his Mirror Dimension. A portion had already begun to infiltrate his dimension, notably the giant ravens which were ahead of the other creatures. He did not stop them. He had no worries, after all, the strength of his reflection, coupled with that of the Rank A inside, would be enough to deal with those monsters.

"Good, let's start here too. Now, it's time to show these creatures what it means to be a true hunter," he murmured, taking an attack stance.

The scene unfolded in a flash of light and sound, as if time itself had been torn. Nox, his body completely enveloped in aura, stood tall, his blade raised high in the air. The specters and the forest, which had continued to grow, were now a few meters away from him, their shapes dark and menacing.

When Nox unleashed his murderous intent, the resulting pressure was so great that the ground began to tremble, as if the earth itself was being torn apart. The creatures of the forest stopped dead, as if they had been struck by an invisible wall.

"Obliteration!" Nox roared in a powerful, gravelly voice.

With impressive speed and force, Nox sliced the space horizontally, leaving behind a trail of white light that seemed to tear reality itself. The power of his technique was such that everything in its path was instantly destroyed, reduced to dust and ashes.

The specters and the forest were annihilated, their dark and menacing shapes erased from existence as if they had never been. The ground itself was ripped open, leaving a deep furrow of destruction that stretched as far as the eye could see.

When the dust settled, Nox stood, his body still enveloped in aura, his blade still raised high in the air. He looked around him, his gaze sweeping over the landscape of destruction he had created.

The forest and the specters had vanished, replaced by a wasteland of ashes and devastation. Nox nodded, satisfied with the power of his technique.

"Silence."

Nox's system was emitting several notifications that bothered him when he ordered it to be silent. An order that was quickly executed by the system.

"Forgotten Truth Technique... Second State: Obliteration," he repeated, his voice calmer now.

Nox's display of power coincided with the arrival of Johan and the other Rank S guardians from the Mirror Dimension. They were all stunned, seeing the devastation Nox had caused with a single technique. The question on their minds was: if he was so strong, why had he called them for help?

And as if to answer their question, Nox turned toward them, his gaze calm and determined.

"Handle the wyverns and the few remaining giant ravens up there," he said, pointing with his sword at the horde of dark wyverns not far from their position, his voice firm. "I'm not very good at aerial combat."

Johan and the other guardians exchanged a look, then nodded. Most were mages, so they excelled in aerial combat. They knew Nox was an exceptional fighter, but they didn't know he had weaknesses.

"Aerial combat, huh. Understood," Johan replied, his gaze sweeping the sky. "We'll take care of the aerial targets."

The Rank S guardians dispersed, ready to confront the wyverns and giant ravens attacking them. Nox watched them leave, then turned toward the horizon, his gaze fixed on something only he could see.

"I feel this is only the beginning," he murmured, his voice barely audible.

...

In the Mirror Dimension, a very surprising spectacle occurred as soon as the monsters intruded. Just after they entered, the walls of the dimension began to warp, as if space itself was reorganizing.

The monsters, who had entered the dimension with disconcerting ease, stopped dead, as if they were confronted with something unexpected.

Suddenly, reflections of Nox began to appear everywhere in the dimension. There were dozens, hundreds, all identical, all with the same determined gaze.
