As colossal as the giants themselves, the tower known as Gureia's grand was grander than the devil's imagination. After seeing Lumenos, Zephyr's expectations were meagre for the rest of the world. Alas, the truth was far more different, and to his surprise, the sage who'd accompanied them until the door was far stronger than he would've expected her to be. And now, being guided by butlers to a room with their group split in three, his eyes honed in on the servants–each above level fifty and surprisingly stronger than the magic knight.
'No wonder their spies had their memories erased with powerful spells. Unfortunately for them, it also undid their experience quite a bit.' Honing in on that thought, Zephyr wondered if the sages could undo people's levels with similar techniques. After all, experience gained could also be lost, and with it the levels a person held. 'We're gonna need to find that out.'
Within the blink of an eye, he connected himself to the minds of the servants around him. Scanning their memories was a waste, as most of what they remembered only pertained to their duties and nothing else. Even so, leaving a morsel of his mind rooted deep within their skulls, he opened his eyes with more consciousness than he'd closed them with.
Through them, he could smell, taste, and see. Now the only thing remaining was to figure out if they were hiding something that had escaped their memory.
"This way, sir and madams," opening a door, the butler gestured for the fiend's group to head right in. "You can stay here until the morning, and if there's anything that you need, please feel free to ring the bell inside by the nightstands. We will be at your service."
Bowing his head, the butler waited for everyone to walk in before shutting the door and leaving. Once inside, Zephyr remembered something, and on came a flurry of questions.
"I thought this was supposed to be an academy, but it feels more in line with a high-end inn." Though he was right in his assessment, having never studied in a formal setting, he failed to realize that they were currently in a dormitory for the kind of nobles and their kids. Many servants accompanied their young masters, and currently, it was a room meant for servants in which they'd been shoved in. "Memory wiping magic. They're expecting us to be devils. All the precaution points towards it."
Turning his head, he met many gazes of the girls he'd been left alone with. Aura and Valentine seemed unbothered while Okio was visibly timid, as she'd never been in such an extravagant place.
"Separating us from the rest of the group and taking Glyea away, they definitely know…" Speaking her mind, Aura added to Zephyr's suspicion. "And if I were in their shoes, then trapping us in here for the night, I would definitely try something without the other two groups knowing anything."
Cautioned by her words, everyone looked around the dorm room. Much less extravagant than most rooms in the dorm, but it was large enough to host multiple servants, and that too comfortably. Three different beds hugged the right wall with multiple closets on its left. At the foot of the same, two vanity desks were also present, and reflected within their oval mirrors was the large chandelier hanging between the middle two beds.
"It looks okay to me…" Not seeing anything out of the ordinary, Okio turned her attention back to Zephyr. "We will be okay, right?"
Nodding his head, the fiend assured her.
"Yes, there's nothing to worry about." Slowly, as he shifted his attention to the other two, he found that they were already looking at him. "Valentine, Aura, you know what to do, right?"
Smiling back at him, the two changed forms and the very next moment disappeared into a cloud of smoke and bats. For Aura, her task was to find the sages and learn as much as possible about them. Valentine, on the other hand, was tasked with partially taking over the people's minds so they could use them in case the situation arises.
"Now then," taking a seat at the edge of the bed, Zephyr motioned Okio to sit on his lap. "I need to talk with Elicia. She can probably help relay what's happening on the other side."
Watching Okio sitting on him, Zephyr hugged her from behind and reached out to Elicia through his mind. She'd been taken with the hero's group as the butlers mistook her for being one of Rudy's companions instead. Elicia had tried to correct them, but Zephyr had stopped her, and although the other group was confused by it, none of them had enough clarity to say even a word.
'Elicia?'
'Oh! What happened? Why am I here with these losers?'
'Just listen to me, alright?' Pulling Okio's body against his chest, Zephyr nuzzled her up closer with his hands, squeezing her belly. His warmth now shared through the skin helped the capra feel a little better, and without another though she wrapped her arms around him.
'Okay, what do you want to tell me?' Elicia asked, her voice still a bit unnerved from the separation.
'Keep an eye on the group you're with. During the night, someone might try something, and if that happens, you can't show them your true form, no matter what, alright?'
'What… Is someone going to hurt us?'
'They could, but I will handle it. You just make sure not to blow your cover, alright?'
'Mhmn…' Humming with a nod, she agreed to the terms without even realizing what was going on. For the priestess, this place was nothing but a temporary stop before their return to the Uzumiya Holt. Alas, if she knew, being a succubus in a hostile territory, she would've possibly freaked out far too much for the fiend's liking.
"Alright," opening his eyes, Zephyr glanced sideways at Okio's gentle expression. Her torn horns were digging into his neck a little, but that didn't stop him from leaning closer to her lip and seizing them. "I guess we have some time to kill until the others return."
The kiss was only a start, as it had been a while since Zephyr had milked the capra–from both her upper and lower body, that is.
