The CEO's Wife Is a Medical Master

Chapter 450: A Vicious Heart

Chapter 450: Chapter 450: A Vicious Heart

Cara Preston sighed and said softly, "It’s best if we just keep this between ourselves. Don’t talk about it outside. By the way, where in the school did you see my sister’s report card? I’ll go pick it up for her. She’s not home right now."

Elise Langdon pursed her lips and said, "It’s in the college entrance exam office. Cara, after how she’s treated you, you still call her ’sister’? You’re way too nice! She has a great sister like you and doesn’t even appreciate it. She’s so stupid."

In truth, Elise had started to drift away from Cara Preston after the last cheating incident. But she couldn’t resist Cara’s manipulative tactics, so she went along with Cara’s suggestions and blamed Vera Xavier entirely for getting disqualified from the college entrance exam for cheating.

Cara Preston just gave a faint smile and said nothing.

After packing her things, she rushed straight to the school. The moment she left the compound gates, Jack Judd had someone notify Vera Xavier.

When Vera Xavier learned that Cara Preston was heading toward the school, she could guess what she was planning. ’That Cara Preston... a leopard never changes its spots.’

Vera Xavier, who was at the school picking up her own admission notice, glanced at the document. A slight smile touched her lips. ’This is getting interesting.’

After a moment’s thought, she opened the envelope containing her admission notice from Veridia University. She took out the notice, then found a piece of paper and wrote a line of text on it. She slipped that paper into the envelope and carefully sealed it shut with some glue.

Once that was done, Vera Xavier waited until no one was looking and put the envelope back where it was.

Not long after, Cara Preston arrived and headed straight for the college entrance exam office.

Vera Xavier watched Cara Preston from a distance, a chill seeping into her eyes. ’It’s not that I want to harm her. She’s digging her own grave.’

She made a call to both Aaron Cheney and Jack Judd, briefly giving them a few instructions.

Cara Preston entered the college entrance exam office but didn’t dare greet the teacher inside. Vera Xavier’s admission notice to Veridia University was right on top of the pile. When the teacher turned around, she snatched Vera’s notice and left.

It was Cara Preston’s first time doing something like this, and she was a little nervous. The thought that she was holding Vera Xavier’s admission notice—that if she just tore it up, Vera wouldn’t be able to attend Veridia University—was thrilling.

What she didn’t know was that, in this day and age, even if you lost your admission notice, you could still attend school as long as you got the relevant documentation from the school and the city’s education bureau.

When Cara Preston left the high school, her steps were much lighter. She felt the exhilarating satisfaction of having gotten her revenge.

She didn’t go straight back to the compound. Instead, she found a quiet, secluded spot outside and took out Vera Xavier’s admission notice.

Feeling guilty, she glanced left and right to make sure no one was around before opening the notice.

Her hands trembled as she opened it. Veridia University was the most coveted school for students everywhere, world-renowned for its high standards and difficult entrance exam. Although she wasn’t the most diligent student, she, too, yearned to go to Veridia University.

Even though she couldn’t get into Veridia University herself, that didn’t stop her from wanting to gaze upon one of its admission notices.

However, when Cara Preston opened the envelope, she didn’t find the Veridia University admission notice she expected. Instead, she saw a plain piece of paper, with none of the wording of an official notice on it.
