It was only then that Laura White remembered she would still have to face Fiona Wright and Shirley Ewing every day. She turned to the Dean of Students and said, "Dean, can I switch dorms?"

"You shouldn’t switch dorms when you have such magnanimous roommates." The Dean of Students was a shrewd man to have reached his position, and he had already guessed Vera Xavier’s intentions. "Besides, there are no empty dorms right now."

"I could call you that, but would you dare to answer?" Vera Xavier asked with a smile.

"Why wouldn’t I dare to answer?" Sheldon Caldwell said with a look of disdain.

Vera Xavier looked at him and said, "If I call you ’big brother,’ does that mean you have to protect me from now on?"

"Of course!" Sheldon Caldwell agreed without hesitation.

’He had always known she was different from Susan Caldwell. Susan would use the Caldwell Family name to swindle and bluff her way through everything, but Vera Xavier wouldn’t act unreasonably just because she had powerful people watching her back. After all, Nathaniel Nathan’s backing was already more than enough, and he spoiled her to the heavens, yet in all this time, he had never seen her start any trouble.’

A small smile touched the corner of Vera Xavier’s lips as she called out sweetly, "Big brother!"

’Even though she hadn’t yet publicly revealed her identity as a daughter of the Caldwell Family, it wasn’t a bad thing to claim this brother first.’

’She thought Sheldon Caldwell had pretty good judgment; the ’little sister’ he was taking under his wing was actually his real sister. She just wondered if he’d still be able to act so calm after he learned the truth.’

Sheldon Caldwell’s eyes instantly lit up. He could tell that Vera Xavier’s "big brother" came from the heart. He nodded and said, "Good. Behave from now on. If anyone bullies you, just tell your big bro, and I’ll definitely stand up for you."
