Chapter 1100: Chapter 1100: Their Captain Finally Stepped In
Busy dealing with two enemies in front, Ning Shoukai did not notice the silent killer behind him!
"Shoukai, behind you!" Xie Qingge screamed.
Ning Shoukai whipped his head around, his eyes widening in horror as he saw the cold steel descending toward his head! He did not have time to raise his spear to block!
BANG!
Before the lethal blade could touch a hair on his head, Xie Jingguo rushed in like a battering ram, blocking the heavy metal blade with a qi-reinforced fist. The sheer force of the collision generated a shockwave, forcing Xie Jingguo back three whole steps as his arm throbbed from the heavy impact.
"Watch your damn back, idiot!" Xie Jingguo grunted, shaking out his knuckles.
"Whoa... Thanks, dude!" Ning Shoukai gasped, immediately turning around to land a ferocious kick straight to the attacker’s ribs, sending the man crashing into a wooden wall!
"Alright, now we are officially even." Ning Shoukai grinned, retrieving his spear.
"Are you crazy? You still owe me big time." Xie Jingguo snorted, rolling his shoulders.
"What?! Why?!" Ning Shoukai asked in disbelief.
"Because I literally saved your life just now!" Xie Jingguo stated matter-of-factly.
"Fine, fine! I will buy you the biggest feast in the next town." Ning Shoukai threw his hands up in defeat.
"Deal." Xie Jingguo nodded with a broad grin.
Despite being stuck in the middle of a life-or-death battle against a heavy guard force, the two teenagers laughed merrily with each other without a single trace of fear.
Behind the carriage, Zhang Zhenyu watched the jaw-dropping display with an unbelievably complex expression. These young cultivators were utterly insane. They were literally surrounded by a deadly, armed militia, yet they were bantering and placing bets as if they were merely sparring on their school’s practice grounds.
More importantly, their combat synergy was nothing short of perfection. None of them fought as isolated individuals. The moment anyone showed a fraction of a weakness or got flank-attacked, another companion stepped in seamlessly to cover their blind spot.
Slowly but surely, the guards completely lost their tactical advantage. One by one, their men were smashed, kicked, stabbed, and knocked unconscious onto the blood-stained cobbles.
The guard leader’s face turned uglier and uglier by the second, his skin turning a ghostly pale shade of white.
"How... How can this be happening?" The leader muttered in sheer horror, his voice trembling.
He had genuinely believed these young travellers would be pushovers. They were young, arrogant kids travelling without any powerful adult elders or senior cultivators to back them up! He had assumed that seizing their legendary Qianlima and taking their women would be as easy as stealing candy from a baby. Yet now... more than half of his elite guard squad was lying motionless on the ground. And not a single one of these mysterious teenagers had suffered a serious injury.
"Damn you all!" The leader lost his composure completely, drawing his own broadsword with a fierce roar.
He sprinted forward like a mad bull, launching himself directly at Xie Yanlin.
Xie Yanlin noticed his incoming trajectory instantly.
"Ah, so the captain is finally stepping into the ring." Xie Yanlin smirked coolly.
"So, you are finally joining the fight." Xie Yanlin smirked.
"Shut your mouth, kid!" The leader swung his massive blade in a heavy horizontal cleave.
Xie Yanlin raised his weapon to parry.
Clang!
The massive collision produced a shower of bright sparks! The sheer physical weight behind the captain’s strike forced Xie Yanlin backwards several feet, his boots sliding against the stone road. His calm expression shifted slightly. This man was significantly stronger than the rest of his weaklings.
The leader swung his broadsword again in a relentless vertical slash. Xie Yanlin swerved his head sideways, dodging by a fraction of an inch as the heavy blade sliced through the air beside his cheek, severing a few strands of hair.
Xie Yanlin narrowed his eyes into dangerous slits.
"Your cultivation level is noticeably higher than the rest of your squad." Xie Yanlin observed quietly.
"Now you finally realise the absolute difference between a kid and a master." The leader smirked villainously, raising his blade for a lethal follow-up strike!
However, before his sword could begin its descent, Xie Jingguo materialised directly behind him like a mountain!
"Hey! Over here, big guy!" Xie Jingguo yelled.
The leader’s eyes widened as he instinctively spun around.
PUNCH!
Xie Jingguo delivered a devastating, earth-infused punch straight to his face.
The leader barely managed to throw his forearm up to block the blow, but the massive kinetic impact still shattered his defence, sending him stumbling back five heavy steps as his arm went entirely numb.
"You brat...!" The leader’s expression turned utterly hideous.
"Don’t forget about the rest of us." Ning Shoukai added, stepping up alongside Xie Jingguo with his glowing spear lowered.
Xie Fengge and Xie Qingge moved up to flank his left, while Xie Zixin notched a glowing wind arrow on his right. Xie Yanlin stepped up directly in front of him, closing the circle.
All six young cultivators surrounded the isolated leader, their weapons humming with sharp spiritual energy, and their gazes locked onto him like apex predators.
The leader’s face went completely ash-white. He looked frantically in every direction, searching for any remaining guards to assist him. There was no one left standing. Dozens of his men lay dead, dying, or groaning in absolute agony across the cobblestone street.
"You... You monsters..." The leader trembled violently, his knees wobbling under the intense pressure of six combined spiritual pressure signatures.
These young cultivators were not normal cultivators. It seemed they were young cultivators from a prominent family. He regretted provoking them.
Xie Yanlin slowly raised his weapon, his gaze ice-cold.
