Chapter 522: Lightning Horn
"Let’s go." The Lin Xi sect disciples saw what happened and they took the opportunity to run.
They weren’t planning to stick around.
Lin Xuan Qi, to them, was a perfect bait for the demonic wolf.
Soon, their figures disappeared into the shadows of the dark alleys in the streets of the old city.
Meanwhile, Lin Xuan Qi saw the demonic wolf coming closer and closer to him.
He reached into his sleeve pocket and took out an Artifact that was in the form of the sun and he directed his Five-Element Qi into it.
Growl!
In an instant, the artifact emitted a bright glare that was as glaring as the sun.
The demonic wolf, blinded by the bright light, closed its eyes immediately and it instinctively swiped its paw at Lin Xuan Qi aimlessly.
It missed as Lin Xuan Qi had leaped into the air with his two hammers in his hands.
He raised his arm and when he descended, he smashed down his hammers onto the demonic wolf’s head.
Dang!
His hammers smashed into the head of the demonic wolf and it gave out a metallic ring from the impact.
Flesh and blood from the demonic wolf splattered into the surroundings and the demonic wolf gave out a roar in pain.
The left hammer made of the Oblivion Steel did its work and the demonic wolf was stunned for a moment.
It knew that it had to get Lin Xuan Qi away from it, so the demonic wolf tried to use the horn on its forehead.
Crackle.
A crackling sound could be heard and sparkles of lightning could be seen forming around the horn of the demonic wolf.
Lin Xuan Qi saw it and he flew to the side.
Bam!
Lightning shot out from the horn of the demonic wolf in the direction that he was at.
And even though it missed, there was some lightning that had spiraled out to the side of the demonic wolf.
Dang!
Lin Xuan Qi used his right hammer to block the lightning coming at him.
The Void Steel absorbed the lightning and Lin Xuan Qi was safe from it.
However, it was not over yet.
The demonic wolf turned around and tried to snap with its huge mouth at Lin Xuan Qi.
But he was ready for it.
He had pulled back his arms, and swung his hammers at the demonic wolf.
Dang!
His hammers hit again and the mouth of the demonic wolf was now a mangled mess of flesh and blood.
The fangs of the demonic wolf were now crooked and some of them had splattered out into the surroundings.
It took a few steps back and tried to get away from Lin Xuan Qi while giving out a few whimpers.
The demonic wolf wasn’t able to even touch him and it knew that it was no match for him.
And the only thought it had now was to retreat.
But Lin Xuan Qi wouldn’t let it.
He decided to test out his talismans and he hurled some talismans at the demonic wolf.
The talismans flew in the air and they gave out an amber glow.
When the talismans got closer to the demonic wolf they turned into huge fireballs.
Boom!
They exploded when they hit onto the head and body of the demonic wolf, inflicting deep wounds onto it.
But that was not all.
Fire ravaged the demonic wolf and it thrashed around in pain.
While the demonic wolf slowly burned into a pile of burnt flesh, Lin Xuan Qi took note of it and he was satisfied with the higher level talismans.
All his hard work cultivating in the night had paid off.
If he was still at Qi Concentration Level, he might have had some difficulties dealing with the demonic wolf.
Finally, when the fire died out, the demonic wolf laid motionlessly and its body dissipated in the next moment.
A blue glow appeared at where it dissipated and Lin Xuan Qi stepped forward to have a look.
The blue glow subsided and the crystal horn of the demonic beast appeared.
It seemed to be an Artifact and Lin Xuan Qi picked it up.
He directed his Five-Element Qi into it and the familiar lightning sparkled for a few moments before he withdrew his Five-Element Qi.
The horn was a bonus for Lin Xuan Qi but he didn’t have time to stick around.
He had to get to Lao Er and Ling Er quickly.
After he kept his hammers and the horn in his toad statue, he turned towards the city walls and headed towards them.
Along the way, he could hear some screams and cries in the surroundings but he didn’t stop.
He presumed that other cultivators were dealing with all sorts of dangers in the secret realm and it wasn’t going too well for them.
This secret realm was what he had thought it would be. Dangerous and deadly for most.
Finally, Lin Xuan Qi got near to the city walls.
He wanted to take a leap onto the city walls but there were two men and a woman standing right in front of him.
"Young master, where are you going?"
They were dressed in purple robes and had all sorts of weapons in their hands.
One of them stepped forward, pointed his sword that was hooked at the end, and said, "You got anything from the secret realm so far?
"I would put them down onto the ground and leave if I were you."
Another one of them with chains wrapped around his body came to the side of the man and said, "Hei, why are you wasting saliva on him?
"He is no match for us."
"Shut up Kok! We aren’t robbers you know." Hei, the man with the hooked sword said to the man wrapped in chains.
He glanced at the woman and said, "Am I right mei?"
The woman, Mei, who had a bow and arrows with her rolled her eyes at Hei and said, "Cut the crap..."
"Tsk." Hei wasn’t too pleased with his companions but he was also getting impatient.
His crooked sword gave out a red glow and he slashed it at Lin Xuan Qi.
