Chapter 640: Hearty Dinner

"Don’t worry, everything will work out fine in the end.

"At least we have the soap, essence and franchise business." Lin Xuan Qi shrugged and consoled Sima Long.

"Yeah. I know. But now that I have a daughter to think about, it’s different now.

"You will know when Xue Cong and Yue Xin give birth to your child." Sima Long gave out a short sigh and said.

Lin Xuan Qi shrugged, glanced at Sima Long and said, "I’m sure my buddy will help me... right?"

"I think your mansion would be much more lively with kids around." Sima Long glanced at the mostly empty main hall and said.

"Let’s hope it wouldn’t be too lively with too many of them running around." Lin Xuan Qi sighed and he couldn’t help but think about his two sons running in the main hall, and knocking things over with their nannies trying to stop them from behind.

"You are still chatting?" Zhang Jie’s voice sounded as she returned with Xue Cong and the others.

Lin Xuan Qi glanced at them and Yue Jie was carrying Sima Dai Yu with Xue Cong, Yue Xin and even Liu Shi Shi crowding around Sima Dai Yu.

They were trying to make Sima Dai Yu smile with different means.

Yue Xin tried to make faces at her while Xue Cong shook her head and made the ornament that was dangling from her hair pin move.

Liu Shi Shi stood behind and mustered the biggest smile she could at Sima Dai Yu.

Seeing how jovial they were with Sima Dai Yu, he decided to let them spend more time with her.

"Brother Sima Long, since it’s been such a long time, why don’t you stay back for dinner." Lin Xuan Qi said and Xue Cong with the others nodded their heads in unison.

Zhang Jie was also glad for it and said, "I think Dai Yu is happy with so many lovely ladies’ attention, she would be more than happy to stick around for dinner."

She was speaking from her heart as the mood was somber and serious in the Sima Family recently.

In comparison, it was far more relaxed and calm in here.

Sima Dai Yu’s frequent chuckles and smiles after they arrived here in the Lin Mansion were proof of it.

"What about your wife?" Zhang Jie frowned at him and asked with a cold gaze.

"Of... of course, my lovely wife knows me well too." Sima Long gave her an awkward smile and thankfully Xiu had come back with a bottle of wine.

He quickly took the wine bottle from her and poured himself a cup of wine.

"You want some?" He asked but Lin Xuan Qi shook his head at him.

There was more work to be done for Lin Xuan Qi after the dinner.

"It’s too bad that Master Lee isn’t around." Sima Long said and gulped the cup of wine down.

They continued to chat while having the dinner.

And at the same time, Xue Cong and the others were spending their time with Sima Dai Yu instead.

Finally, the dinner was over and it was time for Sima Long and his family to leave.

"Come visit again soon." Yue Xin said while she waved at Sima Dai Yu.

But it was late and Sima Dai Yu’s big round eyes were now half open as it was time for her to sleep.

"Don’t worry, we will. I have some more herbs that are good for mother and child. I will bring them over next time when we visit." Zhang Jie said and Yue Xin nodded happily to it.

"I guess I’ll see you again soon." Lin Xuan Qi patted on the back of Sima Long and said.

Sima Long shrugged and replied, "Heh. I will."

After that, Sima Long and Zhang Jie carrying Sima Dai Yu, got into their horse carriage and left with their entourage of guards.

Lin Xuan Qi sighed as he saw the horse carriage getting further away into the distance.

The visit from Sima Long reminded him of what he was being so hardworking for.

He glanced at Xue Cong, Yue Jie, Yue Xin and Liu Shi Shi, and felt that he must do everything in his means to protect his family.

"Now it feels so quiet all of a sudden." Yue Xin said and gave out a sigh.

"You will have your hands full later when it’s your turn." Lin Xuan Qi shook his head at her and said.

Yue Xin stuck out her tongue at him and said, "There’s sister Xue Cong to help me. Am I right, sister Xue Cong?"

"I will?" Xue Cong rubbed her belly and said.

She herself wasn’t too sure about caring for a newborn child.

"It’s late, best for you to get into your room." Lin Xuan Qi said and they did so.

But after they were back in their rooms, he headed for the lab instead.
