Chapter 650: Lin Xuan Qi

After all the guests left the mansion, Lin Xuan Qi went to the main hall and tea was ready for him.

Xue Cong and the others were gathered in the main hall waiting for him.

Their excitement over their husband being able to know someone like Qian Shi had kept them around and excited to talk to him.

He had surprised them once again.

"You must be tired after the long day." Xue Cong, who was there with the others, said and passed him the tea cup.

"That’s all you have to say?" Lin Xuan Qi took the tea cup and raised an eyebrow.

Yue Jie shook her head with a laugh and chimed in, "Most likely about our important guest."

"Well, don’t you agree that he is someone important." Lin Xuan Qi shrugged his shoulders and had a sip of his tea.

"The Duke of Mu definitely is." Xue Cong nodded her head and glanced at him with admiration.

Even though she had been surprised by his achievements so far, she had never imagined that he would be able to have connections with someone like the Duke of Mu.

It was something beyond her wildest dreams as someone from a village.

She couldn’t help but feel incredibly proud of him.

Yue Jie and Yue Xin, who were from an imperial official’s family, were also impressed with Lin Xuan Qi despite their background.

His prepared speech to retort them back had gone up in smoke again.

Xue Cong nodded her head at him and she instructed Xiu to go and get the hot bath ready for him.

It was his favorite thing to do to end the day with, and Xue Cong had always taken note of it.

Lin Xuan Qi gave out a sigh, glanced at Xue Cong, Yue Jie, Yue Xin and Liu Shi Shi.

He felt a sense of great fulfillment with them around.

But deep down inside, he knew that for things to remain this way, he had a lot more work to be done.

When he got back to his bedroom and relaxed himself in his bathtub, he called out to Lao Er and Ling Er.

And after checking with Lao Er and Ling Er, he knew that things were still pretty much the same in Gui Feng City.

The scouts that the Governor sent out hadn’t come back and so the Governor was still apprehensive about mobilizing the soldiers to get ready for battle to protect the mines and Gui Feng City.

Lin Xuan Qi reminded them to stay safe and be on the alert.

And after that, he considered whether he should let Lee He Song go and make sure that they were safe.

On top of that, there might be someone else that Lee He Song would care about.

Chu Xu was still in Gui Feng City after all.

Lin Xuan Qi woke up, washed up and went to the dining hall for breakfast as usual.

However, before he could reach the dining hall, one of the guards came over and said, "Master Lin, there are many visitors seeking to visit."

Now that Qian Shi was here, Zhao Geng Nian would most probably try to meet Qian Shi to force the Governor’s edict through.
