Chapter 547: Marriage Proposal

Soon, Lin Feng and Sun Xiurong began flying towards the main sect.

Lin Feng felt a few hidden gazes the moment he came out of the pavilion and shook his head inwardly.

"Senior sister, I want to understand all the rules of this sect.."

Sun Xiurong was a little surprised hearing that, she nodded," I do have the scroll containing all the sect’s rules, junior brother, here.."

She took out a moderately thick scroll and passed it towards him.

Lin Feng took it and began going through it while slowing his speed slightly.

"Did something happen, junior brother?"

Lin Feng shook his head," Nothing important, senior sister. I merely want to gain a general understanding of the sect’s rules.."

Sun Xiurong nodded before she began enjoying the scenery of the sect as they moved at a slower pace.

It took them a while to reach the main sect at their given speed, but it was enough time for Lin Feng to go through all the rules in the scroll, and he felt it was worth knowing them.

"Senior sister, here.."

Sun Xiurong took the scroll.

"Are you interested in accepting some other missions, junior brother?"

Lin Feng shook his head," There is no need for that for the time being, senior sister. I will accept them occasionally just to obtain some spirit herbs.."

Cultivating was still his main priority, and now that he had established some reputation within the sect, he would primarily focus on cultivation.

Sun Xiurong nodded," That’s a good decision, junior brother.."

They went to the Mission Pavilion, and when they reached the reception, the disciple in charge was surprised to see them.

"Greetings, senior sister Sun.." He then turned towards Lin Feng," I hope your pill refinement is proceeding smoothly, brother Lin.."

Lin Feng, instead of replying, placed the storage bag on the table," I am here to submit my missions, verify them.."

The disciple in charge, for a moment, couldn’t believe what he had just heard. He blinked a few times at Lin Feng before looking at the storage bag. He wanted to say that this was not a place for jesting, but stopped himself and decided to inspect the storage bag first.

Even if he doubted Lin Feng’s claim, he could never doubt senior Sun.

He took the storage bag and opened it, and what he saw made his hand tremble against his will.

A quick sweep of his spiritual sense was enough for him to ascertain the number of pills inside, and it matched perfectly with the total number of pills required for all those missions, but what shocked him most was that all these pills were three-runed.

Even with the evidence before his eyes, it felt impossible to believe. To refine so many pills in merely one day, and have every one of them bear three runes, was heaven defying.

The other disciples who were around to register their missions were intrigued by the receptionist’s shocked expression. They wanted to ask what had happened, but they preferred to remain silent in the presence of Sun Xiurong.

"I hope they are satisfactory. Now give me my rewards.."

Lin Feng wasn’t interested in waiting here indefinitely.

The receptionist came back to his senses and nodded before thinking of something," Ah, brother Lin, the reward in spirit stones won’t increase, it will remain the same.."

The rewards were set for two-runed pills, and that was what was expected from the Alchemists of the sect, so Lin Feng refining three-runed pills wouldn’t alter the reward.

"Don’t worry, I wasn’t expecting anything more anyway.."

The disciple nodded," Alright, then please give me a moment, I will go and retrieve them.."

Lin Feng and Sun Xiurong waited patiently for a few breaths before the disciple returned and placed all the spirit stones on the table," Here you go, brother Lin, please count them.."

Lin Feng didn’t care about that and placed them inside his storage ring before leaving with Sun Xiurong. Only after they both left did one of the disciples ask the receptionist what everyone wanted to know.

"Seriously, what made you so shocked, brother Xie.."

"Sigh, you won’t believe it.."

The receptionist told them what missions Lin Feng had accepted and what astonishing feat he had just accomplished, and as expected, no one believed it. How could they? Refining so many pills in two days was already impossible, let alone accomplishing it in a single day with three runes.

"As I said, you aren’t going to believe it. Now come and register your missions..."

...

Far away from the Mysterious Heaven Sect, inside a great city, stood a prestigious clan which was renowned throughout the Azure Province... Zhe Clan.

It was a clan which had existed since ancient times, far before the establishment of many sects of the current generation, and because of this, the foundation they possessed in resources easily surpassed some of the great sects.

Inside one of the clan’s main residences, Zhe Peng was standing before an old man who was seated upon the main seat.

"What do you wish to say, Zhe’er.."

"Ancestor, I want you to send a marriage proposal to the Mysterious Heaven Sect on behalf of our clan.."

The old man raised his eyebrows slightly," A marriage proposal?"

"Yes, Ancestor, I want to marry Sun Xiurong.."

"Ohh... weren’t you determined to win her heart by yourself?"

Zhe Peng became quiet for a moment before shaking his head," I don’t think she cares about such feelings.."

The Ancestor gave a simple nod," Will they agree to it? Because as far as I know, even if the Mysterious Heaven Sect becomes interested in our offer... Cui Shuyin would never agree, not against Sun Xiurong’s wishes.."

Zhe Peng knew about it," That’s why I want your permission, Ancestor. I want to include that treasure in the offer, I am sure it will move anyone’s heart.."

The Ancestor squinted his eyes, he understood what treasure Zhe Peng was hinting about," What do you mean, you want to trade such a valuable treasure for merely a woman? Are you out of your mind?"

Zhe Peng sighed and shook his head," Ancestor, once I marry Sun Xiurong, that treasure would still remain within our clan.."

" Yet, it won’t be part of you.."
