The Villainess's Heartthrob Script: I Can Talk to Animals

Chapter 215: Renee Jennings Announces Terrible News

Chapter 215: Chapter 215: Renee Jennings Announces Terrible News

"Chewie, Ms. Gecko, and Mr. Gecko, thank you for your help." Renee Jennings placed the food Conrad had bought in the kitchen, unwrapping each portion to make it easier for them to eat.

Chewie the gecko saw all the food and cheered excitedly, "Wow, wow, wow! Renee, you brought so much food!"

Gecko Dad and Gecko Mom were also surprised. This was so much; it would last them a long time.

"This little bit of food is nothing compared to the important clue you provided," Renee Jennings said with a smile. "Well, enjoy your meal. We’ll be leaving now."

"Goodbye!" Chewie said enthusiastically. "If you need help again, you can always find us!"

Renee Jennings looked back and smiled at him.

’I wonder if I’ll ever get a chance to see them again.’

The group left the crime scene, took the elevator down, and headed toward the complex’s entrance.

As they were passing Building 1, Renee Jennings noticed a man in a black baseball cap ahead of them. The blond hair peeking out from under the cap caught her attention.

Ms. Gecko had said the killer had a distinguishing feature: he had golden, curly hair, like instant noodles, and thick lips, like sausages.

She leaned over and whispered to Sawyer, "I think that man in the black baseball cap up ahead is very suspicious."

Sawyer understood immediately. Her eyes swept over him, and she nodded. "Got it."

She moved past the others, walked quickly toward the man in the black baseball cap, and placed a hand on his shoulder. "Hey, buddy. I’ve been looking for you for a long time."

The man’s body stiffened. He turned and saw it was a girl, and was just about to breathe a sigh of relief when he caught sight of the uniformed criminal police not far away. His brow furrowed deeply, and he turned to walk away.

When he turned his head, Renee Jennings saw his thick lips.

Sawyer realized this as well, so she strode after him and subdued him in a few swift moves.

Renee Jennings hurried forward, reached out, and pulled the baseball cap off his head. A mop of curly golden hair was instantly exposed to the air.

"What are you doing?" he yelled. "Give me back my hat!"

Jonas Brooks’s expression turned grim. He walked over with a stern face. "What are you doing sneaking around here?"

The moment the man saw him approach, he immediately lowered his head and mumbled, "Nothing. I-I’m just taking a walk."

"What do you do for work?" Jonas Brooks asked coldly. "What’s your name? Show me your ID."

"I’m an apprentice at a hair salon. My name’s Leo. I don’t have my ID on me." He buried his head even lower.

Hearing this, Jonas Brooks’s eyes behind his glasses narrowed dangerously. He said sharply, "Do you know Kira Sawyer?"

"Who?" Leo shook his head quickly. "I don’t know her."

"You don’t know her?" Renee Jennings sneered. "If you don’t know her, why did you rape her and then kill her?"

Leo’s head shot up, his eyes wide with terror. "What... what nonsense are you spouting? You can’t just say things like that!"

"First, you’re coming with us to the station." Jonas Brooks took out a pair of handcuffs, his tone filled with unquestionable authority. "We won’t frame an innocent person, and by the same token, we will absolutely not let a single guilty one go."

The shiny handcuffs clamped around Leo’s wrists. His heart sank, his legs went weak, and he collapsed to the ground, unable to get up.

Renee Jennings and Sawyer hailed a taxi at the complex entrance and returned to their hotel.

Faye Wyatt was sitting in the hotel lobby drinking coffee. As soon as the two returned, she called out, "Renee, Sawyer."

"Director Wyatt." Renee Jennings and Sawyer sat down across from her.

"You’re finally back." Faye Wyatt put down her coffee cup and raised an eyebrow. "Let’s have dinner together tonight. I’ve booked a restaurant. We can head back to Zenvia tomorrow. How about it?"

"I’m good with that," Renee Jennings said, looking at Sawyer. "What about you?"

Sawyer smiled. "My mission this time is to follow you and protect you. Wherever you are, I’ll be there."

Faye Wyatt snapped her fingers. "Perfect."

Dinner was at a high-end private kitchen restaurant. Elegant, soft music echoed through the private room.

Faye Wyatt raised her wine glass with a smile. "Cheers, to celebrating being able to sleep in tomorrow."

Renee Jennings also raised her glass, while Sawyer, who was drinking orange juice, said, "I’ll toast with juice instead of wine."

Faye Wyatt tilted her head back and drained her wine. The ringtone of her phone, which was set aside, suddenly rang urgently.

She glanced at the caller ID. "Darlings, I need to take this call."

"Vivi," Faye Wyatt said as she answered, a smile in her voice. "Miss me?"

The person on the other end was Zoe Morgan. "Phoebe, I don’t have to work overtime tonight. I was going to bring a bottle of good, aged wine to your place for a couple of drinks."

"I’m on a business trip in Lynfell," Faye Wyatt said, looking regretful. "We’ll have to save that wine for next time."

Hearing this, Zoe Morgan sounded a bit disappointed. "Well, I guess I’ll have to enjoy it by myself then."

"Alright," Faye Wyatt laughed. "Enjoy your drink."

Zoe Morgan hung up. As she drove, she found herself unconsciously heading to Blissborne Garden.

Something came to her mind. She frowned, a look of resistance crossing her face, and immediately drove away.

「The next day.」

Renee Jennings returned to Zenvia, and the system notification sounded right on cue.

Renee Jennings did a quick calculation of her balance and was thrilled.

’Oh my god, I’m actually a rich girl now with an eight-figure bank balance!’

She was overjoyed and sent Rhea Dempsey a huge transfer of 100,000, another 2,000 to Dalton Jenson, and 8,800 to Diana Jennings.

When she got home, her furry kids all greeted her enthusiastically, circling around her.

Blueberry sniffed at Renee Jennings. "You don’t smell like other little animals this time."

Cici nodded in agreement. "I don’t smell it either."

However, before they could even get happy, they heard Renee Jennings announce some terrible news.

Renee Jennings smiled. "A lot of new friends are coming to the house tomorrow. You’ll have to be friendly, understand?"

"A lot of new friends are coming?" Blueberry’s face was full of worry. "Why?"

’There are already enough of us competing for attention at home!’

"They helped me with something before," Renee Jennings explained gently. "I promised I would take care of them."

"So how many is ’a lot’?" Blueberry asked uneasily.

"It’s not really that many. Probably five or six dogs and one cat," Renee Jennings said, still a bit unsure herself.

"That’s not a lot?" Blueberry felt like the sky was falling and collapsed to the floor, looking as if life had lost all meaning.

Seeing this, Renee Jennings found it amusing. "What’s all this about?"

Blueberry lay on the floor playing dead, looking wronged. Pippi came closer, looking at Renee Jennings expectantly. "Renee, I miss Stella. Can we video call her?"

Blueberry jumped up in anger, baring its teeth ferociously at Pippi. "What’s wrong with you, you dog?! I’m still waiting for Renee to comfort me!"

"I’m sorry, I’m sorry," Pippi apologized hastily. "I didn’t do it on purpose. I just miss Stella so much."
