Chapter 575: Chapter 575: "You Are No Longer Suitable to Stay in This Home.
"Is that so?" Vincent Morgan watched her, a scrutinizing look in his dark eyes. "Why do you think they were arguing?"
"I..." Yvonne Morgan’s gaze flickered slightly. She lowered her head and said softly, "I saw that Dad’s expression was off, and... his tone was really harsh."
Vincent Morgan frowned. "But that’s no excuse for you to eavesdrop on their conversation."
"I’m sorry." Yvonne Morgan quickly admitted her fault. "Brother, I won’t do it again."
Vincent Morgan’s tone was flat. "Go back to your room."
"Okay." Yvonne Morgan nodded. After taking a few steps, she stopped and turned back to look at Vincent Morgan. "Brother, you seem to have changed."
Hearing this, Vincent Morgan let out a soft laugh. "How have I changed? Tell me."
Yvonne Morgan pursed her lips and forced a weak, innocent smile. "Maybe I’m just overthinking it."
She turned around, and her gentle expression instantly turned ugly, her eyes churning with resentment and anger.
’Damn it!’
Vincent Morgan watched her go into her room before turning to head downstairs.
In the room, Aria Sinclair suddenly laughed when she heard Zachary Morgan’s reply. "Listen to me?"
"Yes." Zachary Morgan nodded. "I’ll listen to whatever you say."
Aria Sinclair raised an eyebrow, her tone probing. "One is your own sister, and the other is your own daughter. Are you sure you want to let me deal with them as I see fit?"
"Yes," Zachary Morgan replied decisively. "What Zoe Morgan did crossed my line. She’s too selfish."
"And what about Yvonne Morgan?" Aria Sinclair asked. "It doesn’t seem like she did anything wrong."
Zachary Morgan’s gaze darkened, his voice devoid of any warmth. "Her very existence is a mistake."
Aria Sinclair stared down at him, then closed her eyes after a moment. "Since Yvonne Morgan is innocent, I won’t do anything to her, of course. However, I never want to see her again."
"Fine. I can make her disappear," Zachary Morgan responded.
"As for Zoe Morgan," Aria Sinclair’s eyes shifted, coldness and disgust spreading in their depths, her tone filled with malice, "she owes me an explanation!"
"Okay." Zachary Morgan got up from the floor, moved closer, and reached for her hand. "Rue, don’t be angry anymore, alright?"
Aria Sinclair shook his hand off and said coolly, "If you had told me right away, I would have known you were innocent and that it was all Zoe Morgan’s fault. I would have chosen to forgive you. But you didn’t."
"Rue, it’s not that I didn’t want to tell you. It’s just... when a terrible piece of news like that dropped on me, I had no idea what to do," Zachary Morgan explained hurriedly. "I was in shock."
"Don’t say another word." Aria Sinclair looked at him, her expression as cold as ice. "I am your wife. When you didn’t know what to do, you didn’t even think to be honest with me."
"I know I was wrong. Can you give me a chance to make it up to you?"
"Maybe."
"Rue, what do you want me to do?"
**
Yvonne Morgan waited in her room, her heart in her throat.
Remembering what Zachary Morgan had said to her when he came in, she quickly picked up her phone to contact Zoe Morgan.
As soon as the call connected, she asked in a panic, "Aunt, why did Dad say you wanted to die and take me with you?"
"Your father is home?" Zoe Morgan asked in surprise.
"Yes," Yvonne Morgan said, her voice trembling. "He seems to be arguing with Mom, and Brother’s attitude has gotten really strange. Do they already know that I’m Dad’s daughter?"
"I... I don’t know either." Zoe Morgan suddenly felt a surge of panic. "Yvonne, don’t worry for now. I’m on my way."
Just as Yvonne Morgan hung up, there was a knock on her door.
"Who is it?" she asked.
"It’s me." It was Vincent Morgan’s voice.
Yvonne Morgan went to open the door, putting on a timid expression. "Brother, were you looking for me?"
"Yes," Vincent Morgan said flatly. "Come with me."
"Okay."
The two of them went to the study on the third floor.
Vincent Morgan sat in the office chair and gestured for Yvonne Morgan to sit opposite him.
He looked at her but didn’t say a word.
As he stared at her, Yvonne Morgan’s scalp began to tingle. She asked hesitantly, "Brother, is there something you want to say to me?"
"Yes." Vincent Morgan smiled slightly, but his voice was cold. "Back then, you had someone tamper with Renee’s background information, didn’t you?"
A flash of panic and shock crossed Yvonne Morgan’s eyes. "I... I didn’t. It... it was Aunt."
"Aunt." Vincent Morgan repeated the word, his tone laced with sarcasm. "Have you ever wondered why Aunt is so good to you?"
"Because she’s my aunt."
"If she’s your aunt, then why would she treat Renee that way? Renee is her actual niece."
"I..." Yvonne Morgan’s eyes flickered, and she lowered her head. "I don’t know either."
"Oh?" Vincent Morgan drew out the sound, eyeing her with a smile that wasn’t a smile. "Do you really not know, or are you just pretending not to know?"
Yvonne Morgan’s eyes shot open. She clenched her fists as a tide of shock washed over her.
"Brother, what are you talking about?" She blinked, and when she looked at Vincent Morgan again, her eyes were already brimming with glistening tears.
Vincent Morgan’s expression turned cold, his voice laced with detachment. "Yvonne, I’m giving you a chance right now."
"What do you mean?" As Yvonne Morgan spoke, tears rolled down her cheeks. "Brother, can you tell me why you’re being like this?"
"I’ll ask you one more time. Do you know why Aunt is so good to you?"
"I... I don’t know."
Vincent Morgan’s eyes narrowed slightly, his tone making it impossible to gauge his emotions. "Can I believe you?"
"Brother, I really don’t know anything." Yvonne Morgan’s tears streamed down her face as she choked out, "Can you please not treat me like this? I’m so scared."
Vincent Morgan lowered his gaze, lost in thought.
’If she really doesn’t know anything, then just as Mom said, she’s innocent.’
She was, after all, the sister he had grown up with. In the end, Vincent Morgan decided to believe her one last time. "Pack your bags. I’ll take you to the airport."
"Pack... my bags?" Yvonne Morgan looked at him in confusion. "Brother, what does that mean?"
Vincent Morgan stood up and said flatly, "It’s not suitable for you to stay in this family any longer."
"Why? Are you kicking me out?"
"We’re not kicking you out. This was never your home to begin with."
"But didn’t you all say this would always be my home?" Yvonne Morgan demanded through her tears.
Vincent Morgan’s brows knitted together. "Don’t ask so many questions. This is the best arrangement for you."
"I’m not leaving!" Yvonne Morgan trembled with anger, but her voice was exceptionally firm. "This is my home, and I will absolutely not leave!"
"You should be more obedient." A hint of warning entered the man’s voice. "Yvonne, I don’t want to lose my temper with you. After all, you were once my most beloved sister."
"But I’m still your sister now!" Yvonne Morgan said, unwilling to accept it.
