Roadmap to the Boundless Sky

Book 4 Chapter 134: Sweep

Book 4, Chapter 134: Sweep

After disappearing from sight, Chen Chuan went straight for the Linacrox Union.

It wasn’t just because there were more people on their side, but because the one who used the mental attack on him just now was also there. That person had to be killed first.

There were a little over ten people on the Linacrox Union’s side. Aside from the martial artists in charge of melee combat, they also had huge marksmen who practiced martial arts.

All of them wore external augmentation devices that aided their movements and thick protective overcoats. In their hands, they held powerful, large caliber firearms that were about the size of small cannons. If they fired those things point blank, few Third Limit martial artists would come out of it alive.

The guns were aimed at Chen Chuan, but he vanished from their sight, and fear thrummed in their hearts. In response to their stress and fear, their external augmentation devices pumped medicine that could strengthen their physical bodies. It did not only increase their physical abilities, but also heightened their senses.

However, after Chen Chuan overlapped with his second self, his speed far surpassed what most people could follow. All they could get was a faint sense of where he was, and it brought such great fear to them that they started firing in the direction. The area filled with loud bangs.

Dream Master’s mental talent alerted him that danger was coming, and he quickly attached mental energy to his senses, which allowed him to see a figure coming at them in a blur.

Even so, it was useless. He may have been able to see Chen Chuan, but his body couldn’t react in time.

The great danger caused the world in his mind to slow to a halt. Everyone froze, including himself. Even his expression and movements came to a halt. Only the large bullets were still moving and leaving behind visible trails as they tore through the air.

Chen Chuan alone did not pause. He moved through the gaps between the bullets and kept getting closer like a determined, rampaging bull. His saber was positioned beside him, and as he shot past someone, he brought the saber to slide by their necks.

The tip drew a perfect arch in the air. Dream Master saw Desert Wolf trying to dodge at the last second. He drew his knife from its sheath and got his arm halfway up when the saber passed him by.

The next moment, everything returned to normal. The things around Dream Master started moving at their usual pace, but his world turned upside down. He felt himself hitting the ground and tumbling a bit before stopping. Then, he heard loud thuds. His view of the world turned sideways, and he saw headless corpses falling among rolling heads.

The others had only seen a light shoot forward, followed by loud bangs. Then, the Linacrox Union’s heads fell off their necks.

Their hearts were filled with terror, and their hair rose.

Where was Chen Chuan?

In order to maximize efficiency, Chen Chuan was practically brushing shoulders with the Linacrox Union’s team when he attacked them, and once he was done, he continued forward. There was a man in a red protective gear with his hair in a topknot standing far away. His eyes, too, were a rare red. Chen Chuan recognized Blood Diamond, or rather, Shaufel Satier of Biotower, and made use of his momentum to propel him toward him.

Blood Diamond was still recovering. Xu Chan’s spirit sense had left him on his last breath. Even if he had good medicine, he needed a few days to recover completely, so it was nigh impossible for him to have returned to his original state. That was why he had stayed in the rear of the group.

As someone who had access to spirit sense, he could somewhat see Chen Chuan, but he wasn’t expecting him to come straight for him after killing some of the people from the Linacrox Union.

Despite his surprise, he hastily drained all of his potential. Without even caring about the blood gushing out of his wounds, he roared and dragged over the kite shield from his back to position it in front of him. However, as the saber came at him horizontally, he heard a wet splurge. The thick shield was cleanly cut in two. His head flew from his neck and landed in the distance.

Due to him getting killed while his mutated tissue was channeling refined force, his headless corpse charged forward a few steps with the remaining half of the shield before crashing into the ground.

Those who saw it felt a chill go down their spine.

It was rare to see one side dying immediately in a fight between strong Third Limit martial artists. Even if a victor was decided swiftly, they had to go through an exchange of fists or techniques first. A one-sided takedown could only happen when there was a major difference in power between the two martial artists.

While Blood Diamond wasn’t part of the top thirty in the world, he was among the top one hundred. Even if he was injured, he wasn’t to be underestimated when he got desperate. Yet Chen Chuan had managed to kill him with such ease that it shocked everyone.

Chen Chuan didn’t even bother to look at Blood Diamond once he killed the man. He just shifted his angle and continued onward. Anyone looking from above could have seen that he was running in a large arc around the spot where the group stood. Once he reached the end of it, he turned around and came back. During the entire process, he maintained his explosive, lightning-fast speed.

Heros had the sharpest senses. Unlike the others, he could see Chen Chuan’s movement trajectory, so he shouted at Gray Whale, “Valkoni, stop him!”

Gray Whale was the fastest among them and possessed great strength as well as defenses. Even when Qi Qianyang punched him, he hadn’t been too badly injured.

He brought his hammer up and ran toward Chen Chuan. Since he was around three meters tall, he was so fast that he looked like a flashing shadow. This was the effect of his unique refined force.

He charged forward with indomitable spirit, as if he feared absolutely nothing, but it wasn’t because he hadn’t seen what Chen Chuan had done just now. It was precisely because he had seen it that he knew that if he didn’t stop Chen Chuan right now and let him continue his killing spree, he and most of the other people present were going to die.

The way to fight speed specialists was by stopping them in their tracks. It made it much easier to deal with them.

Chen Chuan saw Gray Whale charging at him, but showed no intention of avoiding him. Instead, he went straight at him.

Right as he was about to clash weapons with Gray Whale, Heros rushed over from the side. He knew that Gray Whale alone couldn’t stop Chen Chuan, but if he joined from the side, they should be able to do it.

From a bird’s eye view, Gray Whale and Heros formed an obtuse angle as they ran toward their target.

Chen Chuan didn’t look over. His eyes were trained on Gray Whale. Just as he was about to collide with him, his skin started burning, and white smoke rose from him. Despite already being ridiculously fast, he sped up even more and left Heros behind.

He grabbed the Frost King Saber with both hands and leaned forward as he charged forth. Before Gray Whale could register what was happening, Chen Chuan thrust the saber through his heart, tensed his arms, and shoved the man’s large body into the air.

He then took a step forward along the saber’s trajectory and swung down diagonally, cutting Gray Whale in half. The refined force in the saber pushed him off the blade and blasted him to pieces. Blood and organs scattered everywhere.

A shower of bullets came sweeping toward Chen Chuan. His gaze sharpened, and he brought his saber up to swing it horizontally a few times. The bullets were all struck down. He looked over and saw Ingram standing on a cliff across from him with a heavy machine gun.

Even though the bullets didn’t cause any harm to him, they slowed him down, and Heros showed up behind him. He descended upon Chen Chuan like a giant, and his large shadow encased his entire body.

Chen Chuan didn’t continue charging. Instead, he stopped, clenched his free hand, shifted to the side, and punched in Heros’ direction. Their Heartborn Forces clashed in the air, and the spirit senses on their fists ate away at each other.

To his shock, Heros noticed that even after all the light on his fist had melted away, there was still some on Chen Chuan’s fist, and it was still strong. Heros did not have the time to pull back his hand, so their fists collided.

Boom!

A shockwave shot out from where their fists clashed like a cannon. A large cloud of dust rose up, and a person was sent flying back. He landed far away and bounced off a few times before stopping.

It was Heros.

His arm was bent and mangled. Half of his body, starting from his shoulder, had collapsed, and numerous thin cracks travelled up his seemingly undamaged body. There were some even on his face, and he wasn’t moving.

Chen Chuan stood still with his fist outstretched. The light on it still hadn’t disappeared, and thick, white smoke was rising from him and the Frost King Saber.

The breathing of everyone present quickened.

Splash!

Qi Qianyang walked out of the river. His sturdy, powerful legs left behind footprints on the dirt as he seemed to be growing taller by the second.

Water droplets rolled off his body. Not a single drop made his smooth skin wet. He wiped off the blood at the corner of his mouth and looked around him before turning back to Chen Chuan. A grin formed on his lips. “Our fight hasn’t ended yet.”
