"Weren’t you supposed to be at your internship today? Did something happen?" Lu Yaobing asked again.

Realizing something was wrong, Lu Yaobing pulled off Chen Xue’s blanket.

Chen Xue was crying with her face covered, tears falling through her fingers.

"Oh dear, Xue’er, what’s wrong? What happened? Don’t cry, I’ll stand up for you!" Lu Yaobing helped Chen Xue sit up, pulling her into her arms while Chen Xue continued to cry there.

While patting Chen Xue’s back to comfort her, Lu Yaobing secretly enjoyed the softness of having someone nestled full in her arms.
