Lord: Stripped of My Inheritance from the Start

Chapter 519 - 492: Heart of the Plane

Chapter 519: Chapter 492: Heart of the Plane

The title "Duke of Conqueror" swept through the Oduin Kingdom like a hurricane, and the name Roning Wushan once again left all the nobles in awe and reverence.

The Gregor Highlands were on the border of the Ferrensburg Duchy, facing off against the Balaton Duchy, which belonged to the Tricia Kingdom.

Although the battle here had also started at the same time as the Battle of Mist City, it was clearly not as intense.

To be more precise, the fighting here was a bit like child’s play.

One day, a Knight Squad would arrange for a brawl; the next, another squad would stumble into a skirmish.

After a month of fighting, neither side had lost a single encampment, let alone a city.

After arriving, Garrett wasn’t nearly as proactive as he had been at Mist City. Perhaps he was in a bad mood, because he simply started slacking off.

Today, he received firsthand news from Ference: Ronin had become a Duke.

"I knew my father, the King, would make this choice."

Garrett leaned back on the sofa, cradling his head in his hands. His high-bridged nose made his eyes look incredibly deep, and also a little cold.

"This proves it. He’s compromised with Ronin yet again. A Duke, and with the title ’Conqueror,’ no less. Does he really think Ronin will conquer the Tricia Kingdom for him?"

He narrowed his eyes. "Or does he actually believe that after Ronin conquers the Tricia Kingdom, he’ll just hand it over and let the Oduin Clan claim that supreme glory?"

Ference chuckled dryly.

"I’ve been reviewing Ronin’s file carefully and discovered something strange. Whenever he obtains new territory or is promoted in rank, his power takes a huge leap!"

This was something Ference had discovered by chance. Of course, he wasn’t sure what connection territory and noble rank had to one’s power; for now, he was purely curious.

"We can keep an eye on him and see if his power increases again now that he’s become a Duke."

"Increase again? Don’t tell me he’s going to become a Legendary at twenty years old."

Garrett shook his head. "Ference, my uncle, that idea of yours is truly preposterous."

Ference shrugged helplessly. "It was just an observation. Perhaps I’m wrong, but we can wait and see."

Speaking of which, he changed the subject. "So, have you thought it over these past few days?"

Garrett sat up straight from his lounging position and let out a long breath. "Only I can curb Ronin’s ambition! For Oduin, for the Kingdom... I’m willing to give it a try!"

Hearing this, the corners of Ference’s mouth curled up, and he snapped his fingers in delight. "A wise choice, Garrett. One day, you will be glad you made the right decision!"

"Let’s go. Take me to him!"

He clenched his fists. "I want to see for myself just how powerful this strength you keep talking about can make me!"

For the next month or so, Ronin traveled back and forth between the cities within his Duke’s Domain. Aside from organizing important affairs, his main task was managing personnel changes.

As his fame grew, Professional Knights and Mages from all over the Oduin Kingdom flocked to him, drawn by his reputation.

Mages were rare, so he had Elron accept every single one who arrived to further expand the production of Magic Potions, herbs, and even Magic Energy Weapons and Magic Scrolls.

As for the Professional Knights, in addition to conducting background checks, he also had Macken establish a training camp in Mist City. He tasked Macken and Ridder with training the Knights who came to pledge their allegiance and assessing them through combat trials.

The suitable candidates were then selected and sent to his other domains to assume various posts.

Beyond that, he also prepared to establish a group of inspectors.

Members of this group would be chosen primarily from among the Knights who owned Griffins. They didn’t need to be exceptionally powerful; veterans like Tom and David were prime examples.

Their job wasn’t to fight, but to patrol the various domains and observe whether any of the new Professional Knights who had joined him were stepping out of line. Their findings would be compiled into reports and presented to Ronin.

At the same time, after becoming a Duke, he also bestowed rewards upon his subordinates.

He conferred the title of Honorary Knight upon a large group of them, and also granted them rewards of gold and land.

On November 11th, Blanche, who had been busy for over a month, finally placed all the completed paperwork on Ronin’s desk.

With that, Ronin’s seventh-tier "Siege and Conquest" achievement was officially complete.

When the familiar text—Attribute Points +15,000, Energy Essence +30,000—appeared in his vision, he knew his preparations to ascend to the Legendary realm were complete.

’Legendary!’

With a SNAP, he closed the ledger, stood up, and walked outside.

"Are you going out?"

The moment Blanche saw Ronin’s determined expression, she knew he was leaving.

"I have something to take care of. I’ll be back soon!"

Ronin smiled and kissed her. "You’ve been exhausted these past few days. Get some proper rest."

As he spoke, he cast the Wind Shadow Skill and quickly departed from Mist Castle.

Watching her husband’s figure disappear into the night sky, Blanche couldn’t help but feel curious.

’Where is he going in such a hurry that he had to use the Wind Shadow Skill?’

Ronin left Mist City and headed for the Mist Mountain Range.

Sophia had told him that ascending to the Legendary realm would cause a massive disturbance.

To avoid alerting too many people, he had traveled far from the city.

The Mist Mountain Range stretched from north to south, separating Mist City from the Ference Duchy and creating two distinct battlefronts.

At night, the howls of Magical Beasts echoed one after another throughout the mountains, making it an extremely dangerous zone for ordinary Professional Knights.

For Ronin, however, he didn’t need to do a thing. The mere aura emanating from him was enough to make the Magical Beasts flee from a great distance.

He opened his Attribute Panel. With his recent accumulation, he now possessed 34,713 Attribute Points.

’Time to break through!’

He invested all 24,632 Attribute Points required for the breakthrough, bringing both his Knight and Mage progression bars to the state of Perfection.

HUMMM—

A vast, worldly energy descended from the heavens, as if crossing over from another dimension to act upon Ronin.

Azure wind and crimson fire—two forms of Elemental Power—coalesced into countless rivers of energy, rushing toward Ronin from all directions and lifting him high into the air.

At the same time, the space before him twisted and shuddered violently, tearing open a portal.

’This must be the ’Plane Gate’ Sophia mentioned!’

Passing through the Plane Gate didn’t lead to another plane, but to the space that housed this world’s Heart of the Plane.

Ronin’s consciousness slipped through the Plane Gate, and a wondrous scene unfolded before his eyes—

A brilliant cosmos of stars. He felt as if he were floating in the middle of a vast, profound galaxy.

And in the center of this starry expanse, a colossal sphere of light as dazzling as a sun dominated his vision.

This was the Heart of the Plane.

Two beams of light shot out from the Heart of the Plane, striking Ronin’s Sea of Qi in his abdomen and the sea of consciousness at his brow.

THUMP-THUMP! THUMP-THUMP!

Inside Ronin’s body, his Fighting Qi and Magic Power began to transform, becoming refined, purified, and sublimated at a rate visible to the naked eye.

It was Extreme Elemental Power! And two kinds at that: the Extreme Element of Battle and the Extreme Element of Magic!

These two streams of Extreme Elemental Power circulated endlessly through Ronin’s body, strengthening his every cell, as well as his Spirit.

As the Extreme Elemental Power poured into him, Ronin’s senses sharpened to an unprecedented degree.

He could clearly feel the surge of every drop of blood in his body, the tightening and relaxing of every muscle, and even the faintest tremor deep within his soul.

This was more than a mere increase in Power; it was a profound understanding and mastery over the very essence of life!

This enhancement lasted for a long time, only gradually subsiding when the radiance projecting from the Heart of the Plane faded away.

Just then, Ronin’s heart resonated subtly with the Heart of the Plane, leaving a faint imprint upon it.

This was the Plane Seal. It signified that Ronin had become a Legendary, able to break free, to some extent, from the shackles of the Power of Heaven and Earth. Now, even without using Wind’s Wings or the Wind Shadow Skill, he could fly freely through the sky.

Flight had become an instinct.

The Plane Gate slowly closed, but the Elemental Storm outside had not yet ceased.

Ronin closed his eyes and focused, allowing this vast power to continue cleansing his body and mind.

After an unknown amount of time, once the last wisp of Elemental Power was completely absorbed, Ronin slowly opened his eyes.

In that moment, his eyes seemed to contain entire galaxies—profound and bright.

He let out a soft breath, which carried a faint elemental fluctuation, making the very air around him seem to tremble.

’So this is the Power of a Legendary?’

Ronin muttered to himself, his voice a mixture of shock and anticipation.

He could feel the practically inexhaustible Power within him, as if all the elements of the world were now under his command.

He slowly raised his hand, and with a mere thought, the surrounding Fire Elements all converged in his palm.

With a casual wave of his hand, Ronin launched an instantly cast Second-level Fireball Skill at the mountain range below. The impact was comparable to a Sixth-level Magic spell!

And that was just Second-level Magic. If he could instantly cast Sixth-level Magic, wouldn’t its power be nearly on par with Flame God’s Roar?

Moreover, he could cast them repeatedly, like a continuous Flame God’s Roar.

’And that’s not all!’

Ronin took a single step forward, and a sonic boom ripped through the night sky.

He threw a punch. Without using any Fighting Qi or Combat Skills, relying on pure speed, he was able to punch the air with enough force to warp the trees ahead of him.

If this Air Fist were to strike ordinary Armor, it would cave in the plate and crush the Knight’s chest beneath it!

’This is the Power of a Legendary. It’s on a completely different level compared to the Proud Sun rank!’

SWOOSH! SWOOSH! SWOOSH!

As Ronin was testing his newfound Power, the sound of several figures tearing through the air approached. It was Sophia, Ridder, and Macken.

"Ronin, it really is you!"

An expression of unprecedented shock appeared on Sophia’s beautiful face. "You’ve broken through to the Legendary realm?"

Ronin felt a sense of resignation. He had deliberately traveled far from Mist City precisely to avoid alerting them.

But he never expected the fluctuations from his breakthrough to travel so far.

"Let’s talk somewhere else."
