Chapter 526 - 431: Siyao and Xiao Mo Are Getting Married Today...

Chapter 526: Chapter 431: Siyao and Xiao Mo Are Getting Married Today...

The Qin Kingdom’s Envoy’s Mansion.

Palace Maids from the Qin Kingdom hurried back and forth through the Envoy’s Mansion, bustling about their tasks.

Especially the Maid, Ming Yue.

She directed every Maid and inspected every last detail.

Today was Her Majesty’s wedding day.

There could be absolutely no mistakes!

In contrast to the bustling Ming Yue,

the bride in the room appeared much calmer, her expression full of composure.

As the last hairpin was secured in her hair, a Maid picked up a piece of red paper and held it to her lips.

The woman closed her mouth, pressing her lips together gently.

A festive crimson hue was added to her already delicate lips.

Gazing at her reflection in the mirror, Qin Siyao tilted her head slightly. The hairpins swayed gently, making the crisp sound of jade lightly tapping against jade.

The Maids in the room stared at their Princess’s appearance, all of them lost in a trance.

In their eyes, it wasn’t just men; even they, as women, felt an overwhelming urge to cherish the bride before them, to dote on her to the very core of their beings.

"Your Maj... Your Highness, the Princess..."

Ming Yue called out as she entered the room.

But when she saw her mistress’s appearance, she froze, momentarily forgetting what she was about to say.

Her Majesty’s wedding dress was tailored to perfection. Its narrow waist cinched to create a full curve, flowing smoothly from her shoulders and chest down to her hips, where it opened naturally into a wide hem.

As she walked, a slit on the side would offer a glimpse of her long, slender legs, which were loosely draped in silk trousers of the same color. The trousers tapered at the calves, revealing a pair of delicate ankles.

Her Majesty’s brows were meticulously drawn in a shade of dark indigo, curved like the shadows of distant mountains.

Her almond-shaped eyes shone with gentleness and warmth, the corners tilting up naturally. When she looked down, her long lashes cast a small, quiet shadow beneath her eyes.

Her lips were touched with rich rouge, the most vivid splash of color in her sea of red. They were soft and moist, pressed together, and though she was silent, they seemed to speak volumes.

"What is it?" Qin Siyao turned her head and smiled at Ming Yue.

Ming Yue quickly snapped out of it and curtsied. "Reporting to the Princess, all preparations are complete. The procession from the Imperial Palace is on its way, and the dowry from the Qin Kingdom has been organized. Would Your Highness like to inspect it?"

"Mm, let’s have a look then." Qin Siyao nodded and walked out of the room.

In the courtyard, row upon row of red chests were arranged, each tied with a large red bow.

"Open them." At Ming Yue’s command, the nearby Maids opened the chests containing the dowry.

Inside were all sorts of precious items: Spirit Medicines, Spirit Flowers, gold, silver, and jewelry, valuable calligraphy and paintings, and more.

Qin Siyao walked past the chests, glanced at them briefly, and smiled. "There are indeed a few things missing."

As she spoke, Qin Siyao took a mask and a small clay figure from her red sleeve and placed them securely inside one of the chests.

Seeing these two items, Ming Yue was startled. "Princess... are you including these as part of the dowry as well?"

As Qin Siyao’s Maid who had been with her since childhood, Ming Yue naturally knew how important the small clay figure and the mask were to Her Majesty.

Although Ming Yue had no idea what was so special about them.

To Ming Yue, they were just ordinary objects, yet Her Majesty treated them as priceless treasures and never let them out of her sight.

It was as if they were more precious than anything else in the world.

"Of course."

Qin Siyao extended her fair, delicate fingers to gently caress the mask and the clay figure, a smile softer than a spring breeze gracing her lips.

"They were his, to begin with..."

"?"

Hearing Her Majesty’s words, Ming Yue blinked, a question mark practically appearing over her head.

’What did Her Majesty just say?’

’That these two items belong to the Sovereign of Zhou?’

’But they’re clearly hers. How did they become the Sovereign of Zhou’s?’

’Could it be that the Sovereign of Zhou has met Her Majesty before?’

’But that’s not very likely.’

’I’ve been with Her Majesty since we were children. If she had known the current Sovereign of Zhou all along, wouldn’t I know about it?’

"Alright. Since everything is ready, take the others and wait outside the mansion. I’d like to be alone for a while. Let me know if anything comes up," Qin Siyao said with a smile, offering no further explanation to Ming Yue.

"Yes, Your Majesty."

Ming Yue didn’t dare ask any more questions. She curtsied and led the Maids out of the courtyard.

Qin Siyao looked up at the sky.

Since there was still some time before the auspicious hour, Qin Siyao took a walk alone through the Qin Kingdom’s Envoy’s Mansion.

Gazing at the familiar yet strange estate, Qin Siyao’s memories drifted, superimposing the image of the Xiao Mansion from the Ancient Qin Kingdom of tens of thousands of years ago onto the current Envoy’s Mansion.

It was quite a coincidence.

Qin Siyao never would have expected that the Xiao Mansion, home to Prince Zhenbei all those years ago, would become the Envoy’s Mansion tens of thousands of years later.

But too much time had passed. The original Prince Shuang’s Mansion had long since vanished, and this rebuilt Envoy’s Mansion bore no trace of its former self.

The original river pond had become a small grove of trees.

The separate courtyard where the first madam, Xia Qingke, used to live was now a study.

The Xiao Mansion’s former training grounds were now overgrown with flowers and plants, transformed into a garden.

Finally, Qin Siyao followed a small path onward.

She stopped in front of a small courtyard.

This courtyard hadn’t existed before; it had just been a small patch of grass.

But after Qin Siyao arrived, she had her servants build it.

The small courtyard was very ordinary and not large, consisting of only a small front yard, three rooms, and a small kitchen.

The layout of the front yard was also simple, with just a stone table and a few stone stools.

Staring at this little courtyard, Qin Siyao’s gaze grew distant.

It was as if smoke was curling up from the kitchen chimney.

A gentle woman who sought nothing from the world was in there with her Maid, personally preparing a table full of food. The woman’s daughter-in-law was supposedly helping in the kitchen.

In reality, her cooking skills were so terrible that it was a success if she didn’t just get in the way.

In the courtyard, a man—a Military General who nonetheless loved to read—would sometimes hold a book, and other times look toward the kitchen with a helpless yet gentle smile.

A spring breeze swept through.

The scene before the woman’s eyes scattered like sand.

She was alone in the courtyard.

Qin Siyao smoothed down her red dress and sat on one of the stone stools.

The cool breeze caressed her hair and traced the lines of her figure. She lifted her head and gazed at the distant sky.

Somewhere in that vast sky, it felt as if someone was always watching over her, always blessing her.

"Mother..."

A faint mist clouded Qin Siyao’s eyes. The corners of her lips curved slightly, like a crescent moon boat in a dream.

"Did you see?"

"Siyao and Xiao Mo are getting married today..."
