Chapter 475: Chapter 165: The Green Tea Female Supporting Character in the Period Novel (Finale)

"Of course. What happens in our company could possibly escape me? Tsk, tsk. After she wakes up, she’ll be just like the other women in that building—forced to submit to the brothel madam’s cruelty, endlessly entertaining men..."

"The film will definitely be a blockbuster. It’ll get people in the Star Alliance all riled up, saying we don’t play by the rules and that we’re engaging in malicious competition. No one saw that coming."

"..."

These women led leisurely lives. When they weren’t busy, they loved to gossip and hang out on the forums.

It was an internal forum for gossip fiends. Everyone was anonymous, and no upper management was lurking, so they all spoke freely.

Sister Yun had also used her formidable tech skills to hack her way in by sheer chance. She was a seasoned lurker.

"Sister, are... are you not going to enter another world?"

Other masters had to be begged and pleaded with before they would reluctantly and painstakingly pick a script and enter a new world.

But her boss was a total workaholic, vowing to earn enough points for an early retirement so she could just coast, enjoy life, and binge on all the latest gossip!

Hearing this, Yun’er deflated. "I... I hate how I have no principles! As a Space-Time Missionary and an interstellar actor, how did I just fall from grace so thoughtlessly?"

"I... I even managed to whip up a food street on one side and an entertainment district on the other this time. Just thinking about it makes me too tired to move."

"I need a vacation!"

Mingxing chuckled and handed her a data slate. "Perfect timing. The company is holding its year-end banquet, and you’re invited."

Sister Yun’s eyes lit up. "Is Sister Yan going? And what about Can Mao, the one who fell into a latrine pit last time because his body-entry timing was off..."

Mingxing’s lips twitched. "Sister Yun, I’d say your story is just as scandalous as theirs."

’The company’s resident old-fashioned prude lost her virginity to an ordinary man from one of the worlds... and it happened in several worlds in a row. Could she have some kind of curse when it comes to historical settings?’

Sister Yun rolled her eyes. "You’re so naive. We’re all human. Other people are hooking up with countless pretty boys in every world they enter. I’m a virtuous woman, faithful to one man. What have I got to be ashamed of?"

Mingxing nodded. "As long as you’re okay with it, Sister Yun. Oh, by the way," she added with a smile, "I heard there’s going to be a mystery guest at the banquet this year!"

Sister Yun just "oh"-ed, clearly uninterested.

She was too busy wondering what to wear to keep a low profile. Ideally, she wanted to hide in a corner like a piece of the scenery, pick up some firsthand gossip, and share it with everyone on the forum.

"Sister, which one do you want to wear? The ratings for your latest project were amazing. You might get called on stage to accept an award or give a speech."

Sister Yun pointed to a black dress. "That one. Oh, and when you do my makeup, don’t make me too pale. Go for a sun-kissed tan. It’ll give me a really exotic vibe!"

Mingxing agreed with a sigh of resignation. She’d already run out of ways to encourage her boss to be more ambitious and network more actively. At this point, she couldn’t be bothered to press the issue. "Whatever makes you happy."

After lazing around at home for a week, Sister Yun felt like her bones were about to fall apart. She got her makeup done, her hair styled, and changed into her formal gown, then dozed off for the entire ride to the venue.

In the worlds, she had a physique buff, but back in reality, she was a total slob. She’d stayed up all night getting way too into a novel, and now she felt like she was floating as she walked in her high heels.

"Little Yun’er, you’re such a homebody. You’re either slaving away in some world or cooped up at home like a hermit. Wouldn’t it be nice to come out, relax, and hang out with your old pals?" A roguish young man in a flashy pink suit walked up, smiling as he went to put an arm around her shoulder.

Even with her eyes half-closed, Sister Yun dodged him perfectly and continued strolling lazily toward the hall. "Where have you been mucking about lately, Young Master Huo? Still picking those ancient Prince roles?"

The young man gave an embarrassed laugh and rubbed his nose. "Don’t tease me, Little Yun’er. It’s all just an act. I have to play the scumbag to complete my missions."

At this, he beat his chest and stomped his foot in frustration. "It’s all your fault for not being there to keep an eye on me! I got wasted and fell into someone’s trap, and now I’m stuck grinding out thirty missions in ancient worlds, every single one as a total scumbag!"

"Now I don’t even dare go out in public during the day. If anyone recognizes me, they’re guaranteed to start throwing things."

Sister Yun scoffed. "A gathering of your good-for-nothing friends? I’d rather not."

"Come on, you’ve gotta help me get some revenge! Our Sister Yun is valiant, heroic, and absolutely invincible!" Young Master Huo flattered her with a sly grin.

"Nope!" Sister Yun lazily opened her eyes. "Cleaning up other people’s messes is one of those things you do either zero times or countless times. There’s no in-between!"

A vein throbbed on Young Master Huo’s forehead. "Sister, you’re supposed to be a lady. Can’t you be a little more civilized?"

"For other people, maybe. For you? Heh. Give you an inch and you’ll take a mile." Sister Yun chuckled and raised an eyebrow. "Just think about Can Mao. His mission started with him clawing his way out of a latrine pit."
