Chapter 1404: Chapter 806: Couple’s World vs. Threesome, Kids Are All Little Debtors (Part 2)
Jiang Shiyi hung up the phone, picked up the book she was reading, and sat by the bed to keep watch.
He used to read books by himself and only marked the parts he needed to understand. To help her understand better, he added some explanations to the previous notes for her convenience.
As time slowly passed, a little color returned to Lin Luyou’s face until her phone on the bedside table vibrated, causing her to uneasily turn over twice.
Jiang Shiyi hurried to pick up the phone. If it were anyone else calling, he wouldn’t dare answer without permission. But surprisingly, the caller was Tang Wan.
...
Tang Wan had just put the kids to sleep. Tomorrow is the weekend, and Fan Mingyu will help take care of the kids, a rare moment of leisure.
The little surprise at the Huo Family was too small, Shen Shuci could hardly get away, and Ruan Mengxi, besides having to work, also had to prepare for her wedding. The club is busiest on weekends, so she usually has no time off.
Tang Wan thought about it, having met Lin Luyou at the hospital, and her stomach should be fine after a couple of days’ rest, so she decided to ask her out for shopping.
Unexpectedly, when the call connected and she greeted, a man on the other side casually responded, making her think she had dialed the wrong number.
Why is it a man’s voice?
Just the simple "mm" didn’t reveal who it was, Tang Wan checked her phone’s contact, she hadn’t dialed wrong.
"San... Third Brother?" Only Jiang Shiyi could be the one answering Lin Luyou’s call, Tang Wan thought.
"Yeah, you’re looking for her this late, anything urgent?"
Tang Wan glanced at the clock on the wall, it was just past eight, is that considered late?
"I wanted to ask if she’s free tomorrow, to go shopping..." Tang Wan cleared her throat, "Can you let her answer the phone?"
"She’s asleep."
Eight o’clock... sleeping?
What kind of schedule is that? Could it be... just the two of them alone.
Plus, with his earlier antics at the hospital, Sister Xiaolu’s skills are no match for him at all. It would be normal for him to take full advantage.
Though, isn’t it a bit too early for that at this hour?
Jiang Shiyi, worrying she might misunderstand, added, "She’s not feeling well."
"Oh," Tang Wan responded.
Indeed... must not be feeling well.
"Once she wakes up, I’ll have her call you back."
Tang Wan, feeling a bit helpless, hung up the phone with a smile.
Jiang Jinsang had been busy working late tonight, and by the time he got home, their son was already asleep. Tang Wan, however, sat by the bed, seemingly spacing out, "Wanwan?"
After calling three or four times, she finally snapped back, "Fifth Brother."
"What are you thinking about?"
Tang Wan was just curious about how the relationship between Jiang Shiyi and Lin Luyou had grown from being fellow students to what it is now.
She was thinking, Lin Luyou might not have time to accompany her tomorrow, "Fifth Brother, do you have to go to the office even on the weekend?"
"I’m off tomorrow."
"Then shall we go on a date?"
"Sure, any place you particularly want to go?"
Since having kids, Jiang Jinsang and Tang Wan rarely enjoyed time for just the two of them, naturally shifting much of their life’s focus onto the child.
Originally, they planned to move back to their own place after the postnatal period, but juggling childcare wasn’t easy, and they’ve been delayed from moving back.
Tang Wan suddenly remembered that the fish and the turtle at home might not have been fed.
"I’ll arrange for Jiang Jiu to feed them regularly, don’t worry."
Tang Wan nodded, the next day they first paid a visit back to Guantang Villa.
Lord Wansui, having been sleeping in his tank, woke at the sound. The feeling was as if centuries had passed, finding it hard to believe his owners had returned...
He once thought he had been abandoned.
Seeing Jiang Jinsang, Lord Wansui flailed his short stubby limbs, crawling toward the edge of the tank, continuously scratching the glass.
They finally remembered him...
"Hasn’t Lord Wansui grown a bit?" Tang Wan leaned on the tank, scrutinizing him.
"Recently, with the baby’s arrival, I indeed forgot about him. But after all, he’s a turtle, strong vitality, having gone hungry for long stretches but still doing fine."
Lord Wansui: "..."
"Let’s bring him back to the mansion," Tang Wan laughed.
Initially planning just to check up on things, Tang Wan ended up tidying the place slightly as it had been deserted for too long.
Jiang Cuo and Jiang Jiu waited in the car downstairs...
And they waited an entire morning.
"Aren’t they coming down yet?" Jiang Cuo spit out the flavorless chewing gum, "Has it been almost three hours?"
"Maybe they’re busy." Jiang Jiu pushed up the sunglasses on his nose, seemingly in no rush.
"Busy with what?"
"What else could it be." Jiang Jiu turned to look at him, Jiang Cuo seemed to suddenly realize something, and coughed awkwardly twice.
...
Back when Jiang Jinsang renovated the house, he specifically installed a large bathtub, seldom used until today.
They left taking Lord Wansui with them.
At the Jiang Mansion, scenes often emerged with Jiang Xiaowai sprawling under the sun accompanied by a turtle.
Jiang Xiaowai seldom saw such creatures. He was too young, and the Jiang Family wouldn’t let him handle cats or dogs, so he often just stared at Lord Wansui.
Lord Wansui was just a turtle and moved exceptionally slow, most frequently ending up in face-offs with the young one.
However, upon returning to his owners’ side, Lord Wansui thought the days of exile were over. While never quite the beloved pet, life was comfortable with his little "beachside villa." Yet, upon going back, he found an additional family member...
Since then, the two became intertwined in what turned out to be the adventure story of Lord Wansui.
Lord Wansui was older than Jiang Xiaowai; as he watched the baby lying in bed, unable to talk or walk, he couldn’t have imagined that his life would become so miserable.
He sometimes doubted whether he could die of old age, or would be accidentally killed or even eaten by him.

Meanwhile, in Nanjiang
Jiang Chengsi, expecting to spend some time with his wife after a long workday, was caught off guard when he texted Si Qingxiao to get ready for dinner, only to find she was at the Yan Family.
"Yan Family?"
"Yes, every visit demands a check-in, and Aunt Yun suggested bringing Uncle Yan along for dinner with them." Aunt Yun was Mr. Yan’s wife, according to Si Qingxiao.
Though the two weren’t young, they hadn’t been married that long. This Madam Yan was previously married and had a daughter who happened to be the little wife of the Third Master of the Fu Family in Beijing, making Mr. Yan technically her stepfather.
The relationship was complex, and quite unclear to Jiang Chengsi.
He had thought he could flee from Mr. Yan once work wrapped up, unexpectedly getting pulled into dinner at the Yan Family instead.
Si Qingxiao only had around three days in Nanjiang, not expecting to spend one of them at the Yan Family.
It wasn’t a big deal since after dinner, the two could still enjoy some time together, except Mr. Yan’s younger son—Mr. Xiaoyan, took a liking to Si Qingxiao. Unlike Jiang Xiaowai, he could talk and walk, barely comprehensible in speech, yet insisted on tagging along wherever the couple went.
"Then let’s take him to the beach with my Fourth Brother," Si Qingxiao adored the little fellow, and Jiang Chengsi could only nod in agreement.
What was supposed to be a romantic time for two turned into a threesome outing.
Most importantly, the little one was so young that they couldn’t leave his side.
This Mr. Yan was scarce in expressions, and not talkative, yet his son was nothing like him. Sweet-talking up to Si Qingxiao who was entirely taken with him, Jiang Chengsi found himself relegated to carrying stuff and footing bills.
As expected...
Kids are all debts to collect.
Mr. Si wasn’t eager to become a grandfather so soon, and Jiang didn’t want children this early either, putting them on particularly aligned ground.
Yet some things, usually defy expectations, with the wanted being elusive and the unwanted forced right in their path.
