Chapter 611: Chapter 609: Informing
"Qingqing, you’re back!"
That night, Su Qing slipped quietly into the room where Mr. and Mrs. Li were staying. The elderly couple, who had just fallen asleep, were overjoyed to see her return. They immediately asked, "How was it? You didn’t run into any trouble on the way, did you?"
The couple’s first reaction was to worry about Su Qing’s well-being. To them, their granddaughter’s safety was the most important thing.
Su Qing smiled. "Grandma, Grandpa, don’t worry. Everything went well."
Hearing her words, the two elders nodded in relief. They knew that if Su Qing said so, it meant everything had gone smoothly. They didn’t press for details, knowing their granddaughter was capable and had things under control.
The next day, Mr. and Mrs. Li finished their recuperation and returned to Beijing, with Su Qing accompanying them. To everyone else, it simply looked as though Su Qing had gone with the elderly couple to Yan City to rest. No one could have imagined that during this time, she had actually crossed the sea to Japan all by herself.
In the Li family’s study at the compound.
Gu Xinsheng stared at Su Qing in astonishment. "Qingqing, are you saying... you’re saying all of those antiques... you got them all back?"
"Yes." Su Qing nodded calmly. However, seeing her composed reaction, Gu Xinsheng, Li Fenghuo, and Old Sir Gu were utterly shocked.
"All of them? You got them all back?" Li Fenghuo still found it hard to believe. Although he knew his niece was highly capable, this result was beyond his comprehension.
’Just how did my niece manage to bring back so many things?’ Li Fenghuo found it impossible to even imagine. It was truly beyond his understanding.
Li Fenghuo knew his niece certainly had other secrets, but he had no intention of prying. For now, it was enough for them to know that Su Qing was capable. As for the deeper secrets, the ones not spoken of to anyone—those were what made them true secrets.
"Umm..." Su Qing blinked. "There’s more..."
"There’s more?" The three men’s eyes widened as they stared at Su Qing. What did she mean, ’there’s more’?
Su Qing glanced at the ceiling, then at her grandfather’s desk. "Besides those antiques and cultural relics, I also helped myself to a few other things."
"For instance?" Li Fenghuo had a gut feeling that this "few other things" wouldn’t be simple at all.
Su Qing gently counted on her fingers. "For instance, gold, jewels, jade, jadeite, and some weapons."
The three men: ...
Su Qing continued, "Oh, right. There were also some medicinal formulas I found in the Qiutian Family head’s safe. From the looks of it, they seem to be ancient formulas from our Hua Country, so I went ahead and brought them back too."
She spoke so casually, yet the men listened, completely dumbfounded. A while later, when they learned that the vaults of the Qiutian Family’s ancestral home and the secret chamber in their other villa where they kept their valuables had been all but cleaned out, they couldn’t help but marvel once again. ’Our Qingqing is really something else!’
Li Fenghuo rubbed his face and asked, "Qingqing, can you store these things for now? I need to make some arrangements on my end."
Li Fenghuo truly hadn’t expected Su Qing to bring back so much. This was no small amount, and his previous plans would have to be completely redrafted.
"I can." Su Qing nodded. "Uncle, just let me know when you have everything arranged. It would be best to prepare a large warehouse to store everything."
"Alright, no problem." Li Fenghuo nodded. "And don’t worry about security. The area will be clear of people. Just notify me after you’ve placed the items."
"Okay." Su Qing knew her uncle would handle it perfectly. Besides, with her grandpa and Uncle Gu involved, the three of them would do everything in their power to protect her secret.
Having finished discussing the antiques, Su Qing decided to also tell her grandpa and the others about what the Ye Yue and Shengchuan Families had been doing. Although the matter involved Onmyoji from Japan, and even delved into things ordinary people couldn’t fight against, like Array Techniques and talismans, it was something they needed to be aware of.
Xiangcheng has its Feng Shui Masters, and similarly, Hua Country has Daoists and other gifted individuals. Although many of them went into hiding for various reasons in previous years, if the higher-ups take this seriously and can find these people to create a line of defense for Hua Country, then we’ll be able to respond in time if the Japanese Onmyoji try anything else.
After hearing Su Qing out, Mr. Li slammed his palm on the table. "Those bastards! Their evil ambitions are still alive and well!"
Mr. Li had always been an atheist and never believed in such ethereal matters. However, his own granddaughter’s abilities had completely changed his worldview. Naturally, this made him even more furious about what those Japanese Onmyoji had done. If their plot had succeeded, it would have been absolutely disastrous for Hua Country.
Li Fenghuo and Gu Xinsheng were also seething with anger, their fists clenched tightly.
Su Qing then added, "The most important thing right now is that I plan to make a trip to Qinling. Even though the Array Technique in Japan was destroyed, we need to take precautions on the Qinling side. Who knows what kind of traps that group might have set up there."
"Right." Mr. Li nodded, but he was still worried about Su Qing going alone. He said, "Qingqing, shouldn’t we think about this more carefully? We don’t know how many of them are left, and they all have those special abilities. What if you’re outnumbered? Going alone would leave you vulnerable. It would be very dangerous."
Su Qing just smiled. "Grandpa, don’t worry. Even if I can’t beat them, I can protect myself. Besides, having more people would be inconvenient."
Su Qing didn’t hide her intentions. "I don’t plan on letting any of them make it back to Japan."
In truth, Su Qing had already guessed that even though she hadn’t said a word, her grandpa and the other two had likely figured out she was responsible for the disappearance of the Qiutian Family’s artifact transport team and for Ye Yuefeng vanishing in Hua Country. They were probably already trying to figure out how to secretly clean up the mess for her.
And Su Qing wasn’t wrong. That was exactly what Mr. Li and the other two had been doing. None of them were rigid idealists. As long as Su Qing didn’t harm innocent people, everything else was negotiable.
Her words were laced with a chilling killing intent that startled the three men in the room.
Mr. Li nodded. "Alright, Qingqing. Since you’ve made up your mind, go and do it. Whatever happens, Grandpa has your back."
At that moment, Mr. Li couldn’t help but feel a surge of pride. ’That’s my granddaughter, alright. So decisive and ruthless. Just like me!’
Su Qing smiled faintly. "Thank you, Grandpa."
