Chapter 587 - 457: Perverted Jude Seymour

Chapter 587: Chapter 457: Perverted Jude Seymour

After washing Polly, Flora Bloom cleaned herself up as well. Before coming out, she refilled the water storage bucket inside. To avoid arousing suspicion, she put her old, filthy clothes back on.

And yet, when Flora Bloom appeared before them holding Polly, everyone stood frozen in place.

The sight of her—with supple, delicate skin and a beauty that seemed to rise unstained from the filth—left every member of the team utterly shaken.

It took a few coughs from Lance Holland and Melanie Lawson to snap everyone out of it. Then, Melanie pulled Flora Bloom aside. "Flora Bloom, over here!"

Flora Bloom asked, confused, "What is it?"

"You can’t go walking around the base looking like that! You’d better stay here and not go out!"

"Huh?" Flora Bloom touched her face. "Am I ugly? That can’t be right. I’m supposed to be beautiful!"

Melanie Lawson fought the urge to laugh, keeping her expression serious as she looked at her. "I’m not saying you’re ugly! It’s because you’re *too* beautiful that you can’t go out!"

"Why not? It’s not like there are bandits in the base, kidnapping women to make them their chieftain’s wives, is there?"

"I’m being serious! Aethelgard Base used to be very safe. Our Aethelgard City was always known for its beautiful women. On top of that, after some girls awakened a Water Ability, their skin became impossibly smooth and dewy, making them look even more stunning. Even in the apocalypse, Aethelgard Base was full of beauties."

Flora Bloom could see Melanie Lawson was building up to something. "And then what happened?" she asked.

"That was until the Seymour family arrived. After that, the beautiful women in our base either ended up disfigured or were locked away by the Seymours. No one knows what truly happened to them.

The women who came back out from the Seymour family’s territory, the disfigured ones, had all gone mad. And after that... some of them died, others went missing. No one knows how.

It’s gotten so bad that now, any girl who’s even slightly attractive deliberately makes herself filthy and smelly, terrified of suffering the same fate.

I don’t know exactly what happened to them, but with a face like yours, it probably won’t be safe for you to even step out of this building."

’Hearing this, Flora Bloom started to get the picture. It seems the one from the Seymour family leading the charge this time is a real pervert with some... special tastes.’

’I was just wondering how to get close to the Seymours. Now, it looks like I won’t have to worry about that at all.’

But when Lex Cross and Saul Sterling emerged, freshly cleaned, everyone was left speechless all over again.

Even for these veterans, who had lived in Aethelgard Base for so long—a city once teeming with beautiful women and handsome men—they had rarely seen a family like this.

Saul Sterling and Lex Cross had been through hell and back together; where Lex went, Saul followed. Consequently, few people ever paid much attention to Saul’s appearance. But in truth, Saul wasn’t just refined and handsome; he possessed a natural scholarly charm, an aura of quiet erudition.

If he weren’t always being compared to Lex Cross, he would be considered devastatingly handsome in his own right—the kind of good looks that even outshone the classic "refined scoundrel" archetype.

Lex Cross, however, was on another level. Both his physique and his chiseled features were almost ferociously intense. The intimidating pressure he exuded, honed by years of training and missions, combined with his powerful, commanding presence, made him utterly impossible to ignore.

And then there was the baby in Flora Bloom’s arms—a lovely, pretty little girl, as adorable and exquisitely formed as a jade doll.

Flora Bloom holding Polly, standing alongside the two men, formed a picture of breathtaking beauty.

At that moment, Lance Holland realized it too. These four people were very likely going to bring endless trouble upon him and his team.

’But was their strength proportional to their beauty? A Mutated Beast that even the powerful Irene Seymour couldn’t handle had been driven off by them.’

’Clearly, they were extraordinarily strong. But what about Jude Seymour? Could their power match his?’

"You... you should all leave." Lance Holland sighed, making the difficult, reluctant decision. "Leaving Aethelgard Base might be the best thing for you."

"Captain Lance Holland, are you afraid of what the Seymour family might do to us?"

"They..." He sighed. "They have the numbers, and they have the power. Every one of them is at the Nebula Superpower Level. We simply don’t stand a chance."

"With so many people with superpowers in the base, has no one ever tried to fight back together?" Flora Bloom asked, puzzled.

"Resist?" Lance Holland shook his head in resignation. "How could we? Aethelgard Base is full of people, full of those with superpowers, but we’re not united! The original base commander is just a pawn for the Seymour family now. How can we be of one mind?"

"Lex," he said, turning to him. "For your wife and child, and for your own sakes... you should leave. The Seymours... they’re nothing but animals!"
