Stella Sterling calmly placed the gold bars into her personal space.

Then, she picked up the locked notebook.

With a slight jiggle, the small lock fell off.

She held the notebook and casually flipped through it, but her eyes narrowed in the next instant.

Shortly before the apocalypse, he found a source that could sell him firearms. He immediately decided to acquire a shipment of them, but his contact was overseas.

So, he borrowed a substantial amount of money from all his friends and family, and even mortgaged the house he had designated as his backup location, taking out large loans.

He planned to use the money to go abroad and bring back a shipment of firearms.

The diary ended there.

Reading that last part, Stella Sterling understood. After getting the money, he had gone abroad to acquire weapons for his protection.

What he didn’t know was that the apocalypse would strike right then. Once he was overseas, there was no coming back.

So, all his preparations were for naught, and now the members of the Three Tigers Corps, as well as she and Zane Xavier, were the ones to benefit.

She shook her head. The owner of this convenience store had been a smart man with keen insight. He was also incredibly decisive. He had dared to spend all his savings and borrow a fortune to prepare for the apocalypse, all based on nothing more than his own analysis.

One had to remember that, at the time, it was all just speculation. If he had been wrong, his actions would have led to his complete and utter ruin.

He would have been left penniless and saddled with enormous debt.
