"It’s ten o’clock, it’s getting late." Alex snapped back to reality, picked up his terminal to check the time, and strapped it back on his wrist. "Do you want to take a shower today? If not, let’s go to sleep."

Alex stood up. "I’ll go run the water for you."

Gu Ning said, "Very well."

Lanuo gave her a smiling glance. "So, that means Alex is a good teacher?"

Gu Ning nodded.

Lanuo raised an eyebrow meaningfully. "Alex, your self-control has certainly grown."

’I could smell Ningning’s potent estrus odor from the doorway, yet Alex can still sit calmly beside her and teach her.’

Alex took the test paper from his hand. "What tests do you need to run on Ningning? It’s so late, they can wait until tomorrow."

"Once the tests are done, she can have a nice, comfortable shower. No need to wait another night."

Lanuo raised a hand toward Gu Ning, paused, then quickly lowered it. He turned and said, "Miss Ningning, come with me. You need a full physical examination."

Gu Ning: ’What kind of examination?’

She turned her head to look at Alex.

Alex put the translation earbud in her ear, held her wrist, and led her to follow Lanuo. "It’s just a physical. Don’t worry."

Gu Ning was taken to an imaging room.

Besides Lanuo, there was another doctor—the one from Zone 15.

"First, we’ll take a chest X-ray to check on your lungs," Lanuo said.

Gu Ning did as Lanuo instructed.

"The recovery is looking good." Lanuo’s finger swiped across the screen, zooming in to examine Gu Ning’s chest X-ray closely. He said with satisfaction, "It seems using strong medicine was the right call after all."

The assistant doctor at his side gave him a complicated look.

’The medicine Lanuo prescribed for this young lady was indeed potent for her constitution. It could speed up recovery, but the side effects were significant, and she might not have been able to bear them. Because of this, he and several other doctors had argued with Lanuo to the point of nearly coming to blows.’

’But this guy is a strange genius. His solution to the side effects was simple and crude: just add a sleep aid to make the young lady sleep more. Once she was in a deep sleep, she wouldn’t feel any side effects at all.’

"She’s lost weight." Alex frowned slightly.

Lanuo said, "Sickness consumes a patient’s energy. It’s normal to lose weight. We just need to help Miss Ningning get her strength back later."

"I’ll adjust Ningning’s nutrition plan later." Lanuo stood up and said to Gu Ning, "Alright, Miss Ningning, I need to examine you." He used his pen to point at the medical bed behind Gu Ning. "Go sit over there and take off your clothes."

Gu Ning glanced at Alex, feeling a little resistant. ’

Remembering they were doctors, Gu Ning could only brace herself and walk to the medical bed to sit down.
