Chapter 603 - 567: Invitation (Part 2)

Chapter 603: Chapter 567: Invitation (Part 2)

It would still take some time to cultivate the Demonized Creatures needed for the laboratory’s research.

Li Wei left this task for his subordinates to handle.

It was worth mentioning that Hobbes had taken the initiative to request joining the Demon Seed Laboratory.

So, Li Wei put Hobbes in charge of managing the Demon Seed Laboratory.

Hobbes puffed out his chest and guaranteed, "I will definitely manage the Demon Seed Laboratory well."

Li Wei reminded him, "Be careful when you’re conducting research. Make sure you don’t get injured by the Demonized Creatures, and more importantly, don’t get infested by a Demon Seed."

After giving Hobbes these words of caution, Li Wei left the Hall of Truth.

On his way to the library, a figure appeared by his side.

"Li Wei, my master wants to see you."

Li Wei turned his head to see Lilith walking shoulder-to-shoulder with him. She spoke in a low voice.

"Haros? Why does he want to see me?"

Li Wei was a little puzzled.

He recalled that when the Light Divine Sect had come to capture him, it was Haros who had sent Lilith to warn him, allowing him to escape.

Li Wei nodded. "Alright. Let’s go."

Lilith led Li Wei to see Haros.

When Haros saw Li Wei, he said with emotion, "I never would have thought... So little time has passed, yet you’ve already become a Legendary Mage. It’s truly incredible."

Li Wei smiled and asked, "What did you want to see me about?"

Haros said, "I hear you’ve been investigating the Jade Prince recently?"

Li Wei showed a hint of surprise. "Oh? Does that have anything to do with you?"

Haros replied, "Not at all. But why are you investigating him?"

Li Wei said, "I’m just a little curious about the longest-lived nobleman in the Empire."

Haros looked at Li Wei, unable to discern his true thoughts.

However, he had heard some rumors.

The Jade Prince was apparently looking for Li Wei.

Haros let out a laugh. "Indeed. Throughout history, countless people have yearned for eternal life, for longevity."

"If you’re only interested in the secret to the Jade Prince’s long life, you might as well take a trip to the Alchemy Tower. They’ve done a great deal of research in that area."

"If you don’t mind becoming a monster, the Alchemists in the Alchemy Tower could even make you live forever, right up until the end of the world."

"But you’re already a Legendary Mage, so lifespan shouldn’t be an issue for you. After all, you’re still young. You might even have a chance to ascend to godhood in the future."

"A Human Mage ascended to godhood a few hundred years ago. Keep it up."

Li Wei looked at Haros strangely, feeling that this wasn’t what he really wanted to talk about.

He asked, "And what if I’m not interested in the secret to a long life?"

A playful look appeared on Haros’s face. "Well, that would be interesting."

"Have you heard? The Jade Prince is about to turn one thousand years old. He’s currently planning a grand birthday celebration in the Jade Territory."

"When the time comes, the Jade Prince will surely invite all the famous people from across the continent to attend the banquet."

"You became a Legendary Mage at such a young age. If word of this reaches the Jade Prince’s ears, it’s highly likely he’ll invite you to the banquet."

Li Wei looked at Haros, momentarily unsure of what he was thinking.

’Still, what Haros said is a good opportunity to get close to the Jade Prince.’

If it was the Jade Prince’s birthday banquet, he would certainly be in attendance.

This would create an opportunity for him.

’The Legendary Witch Lich is still waiting for my good news.’

After a somewhat cryptic conversation, Li Wei and Haros went their separate ways.

After Haros left, Li Wei chatted with Lilith for a bit.

"Last time... thank you for helping me escape."

Li Wei expressed his gratitude to Lilith.

Lilith replied with a cold expression, "It was nothing. My master just told me to help you. If you want to thank someone, thank him. You don’t need to thank me."

Li Wei smiled. He was long familiar with Lilith’s tsundere personality.

’Haros wouldn’t meddle in such affairs.’

’At most, he’d give me a warning if I was in danger.’

’Everything beyond that was entirely Lilith’s own doing.’

’Including covering for me so I could use the Teleportation Array to leave the Elemental Tower.’

Li Wei invited Lilith, "Want to go for a walk around town?"

Lilith didn’t refuse, retorting instead, "Are you that free? Oh, I forgot, you’re a Legendary Mage now. You must be very free indeed."

Li Wei didn’t rashly try to sense Lilith’s Level.

He asked, "What about you? What stage has your Cultivation reached?"

Lilith said coldly, "Can’t compare to you. I’m just a mere Tier Five Mage."

Hearing this, Li Wei didn’t think Lilith’s Cultivation speed was slow at all.

She hadn’t been in the Elemental Tower for long, not even two years.

And yet she had already become a Tier Five Great Mage.

Barring any accidents, her becoming a Legendary Mage was practically a certainty.

Li Wei was still very interested in the source of that Power within Lilith’s body.

Lilith took a few steps, then turned back to look at Li Wei and asked coldly, "Weren’t you the one who wanted to go for a walk? Do I have to wait for you?"

Li Wei laughed, snapping out of his thoughts and catching up to her.

It was strange.

Lilith’s attitude toward him hadn’t improved just because his strength had grown and he had become a Legendary Mage.

’She really is a tsundere.’

It was precisely this pride that allowed her to see Li Wei, a Legendary Mage, as an equal.

Anyone else would have felt inferior because of his status as a Legendary Mage.

Even Hobbes couldn’t escape this psychological hierarchy.

After learning that Li Wei had become a Legendary Mage, his attitude toward him became much more polite.

It wasn’t as natural as before.

After Li Wei and Lilith parted ways, he began to think of ways to build up his own prestige.

He thought of Otz.

Otz’s Beixuan Kingdom had been established with funding from the Jade Prince.

Although the Jade Prince wasn’t Otz’s only investor, Otz should have a way to contact the Jade Prince.

He immediately put his thoughts into action.

Li Wei used his clone in Maple City to publicize his outstanding talent through the Xinghuo Literature Society.

He arranged for all sorts of exaggerated titles to be spread: "The Youngest Legendary Mage in History," "The Most Talented Mage in a Millennium," "The Mage Most Likely to Ascend to Godhood After Mistral"...

Soon, the news reached Otz’s ears.

He could hardly believe it when he heard that Li Wei had actually become a Legendary Mage.

Considering that a Legendary Mage was beyond his ability to handle, Otz reported the matter to his superiors, hoping they could help verify the information’s authenticity.

Before long, his superiors informed Otz that it was true.

That night, Otz sat in his room, unable to sleep.

It was all too easy for the people behind Otz to find out if the news was true.

They just had to ask the upper echelons of the Elemental Tower.

When Li Wei became a Legendary Mage and a council member of the Elemental Tower, basically all the higher-ups in the Elemental Tower were aware of it.

And they had no intention of hiding it from the public.

Thus, word that Li Wei had become a Legendary Mage and a high-ranking council member of the Elemental Tower spread quickly.

It reached the ears of the Jade Prince.

"A Legendary Mage? How did he manage that?"

The Jade Prince was also baffled.

According to his intelligence, Li Wei had been just a Tier Four Great Mage not long ago.

After much thought, the Jade Prince sent an invitation to Li Wei at the Elemental Tower, inviting him to his one-thousandth birthday banquet.

On one hand, he wanted to find out why Li Wei had suddenly become a Legendary Mage.

On the other hand, he wanted to get his hands on the dragon that was always with Li Wei.

His intelligence indicated that Li Wei had appeared alone at the Elemental Tower and accomplished something impossible.

The Jade Prince didn’t care what he had done to make the Elemental Tower accept him as a council member.

He was more concerned about where the Giant Dragon that had been with Li Wei had gone.

His invitation for Li Wei to attend his birthday banquet was more for the sake of the Giant Dragon than for Li Wei himself.

A smile spread across Li Wei’s face after he received the Jade Prince’s invitation.

He sent the good news to the Legendary Witch Lich almost immediately.

Li Wei looked at the ornate, solid-gold invitation in his hand, his face beaming with joy.

’I’ll bring you a sufficiently grand, surprising gift.’

’I definitely won’t disappoint you, hahaha...’
