"Not long after he told me about this, a strange disturbance occurred in the Sea Abyss. The spatial rift in the Underground Sea that led to the Sea Abyss vanished, and immediately after, Sea Abyss City’s Crystal Defense Shield stopped working."

"The Saint Dragon King might have gone to investigate the abnormal fluctuations in the Sea Abyss."

"Abnormal fluctuations?" Li Wei looked puzzled.

The Mermaid Princess said the Saint Dragon King might have gone to the Sea Abyss.

Li Wei had no choice but to make a trip to the Sea Abyss to search for the Saint Dragon King and Saint Xi.

Hearing that Li Wei was going to the Sea Abyss, the Mermaid Princess quickly said, "If you want to go to the Sea Abyss, there’s a secret passage inside Sea Abyss City."

"Jenet, go handle the matters in Sea Abyss City. I will take Li Wei to the entrance to the Sea Abyss."

Mermaid Princess Anna said to Jenet.

Jenet nodded and replied, "Yes, Your Highness."

The Mermaid Princess led Li Wei, swimming toward the Sea God Hall within Sea Abyss City.

"This is the place. Back when the Sea God still existed, the Sea Abyss was the most bountiful and mysterious place in the ocean. All the Sea God Halls in the ocean could lead to the Sea Abyss."

"Some people also used to say that the Sea God wanted to build the Sea Abyss into a Divine Kingdom."

"Later, the Sea God disappeared. No one knows when the bountiful Sea Abyss turned into a dead land, becoming a forbidden zone of death in the ocean. All the creatures within the Sea Abyss were afflicted by an unknown curse. Some died, others mutated. The Naga Race was born at that time."

A handmaiden quickly replied, "Reporting to Your Highness, the Sea God Hall has not been attacked by the Naga Race. Even though the Naga Race has forsaken the Sea God, they still dare not rashly offend the majesty of a Divine Spirit. They don’t dare come within half a step of the Sea God Hall."

Mermaid Princess Anna paid no mind to the handmaiden’s explanation.

She knew the real reason.

’It’s just that the Naga Race thinks the Sea God Hall is abandoned and completely useless, holding no value for them to conquer. That’s why they haven’t sent troops to occupy it. It has nothing to do with not daring to offend a Divine Spirit.’

The Mermaid Princess activated the Teleportation Array in the Sea God Hall.

Thankfully, the materials used to build the Sea God Hall back then were all of the highest quality.

After so much time, the Teleportation Array was surprisingly still functional.

It was also thanks to the Merfolk Race of Sea Abyss City, who had been maintaining the Sea God Hall all these years.

Even if they didn’t use the facilities inside the Sea God Hall, they never skipped the routine maintenance.

Li Wei stood inside the Teleportation Array.

A blue light flashed within the Sea God Hall, and Li Wei’s figure vanished.

The Mermaid Princess gazed at the spot where Li Wei had disappeared and murmured softly, "I hope you return safely."

"May the Sea God protect Li Wei and keep him safe."

The Mermaid Princess prayed for Li Wei.

Although the Sea God had vanished, he remained the faith in the hearts of the Merfolk Race.

A flash of blue light crossed Li Wei’s vision, and he immediately felt an intense spatial fluctuation envelop him.

When he came to his senses, the blue light was gone, and darkness lay before him.

The place he was in was also a Sea God Hall.

He saw several figures swimming through the pitch-black seawater.

The Sea Abyss was enormous and exceptionally vast, yet there were few signs of life.

Li Wei could feel an aura of death permeating the area.

He flew in the direction where he sensed a life-form’s aura.

At the bottom of the Sea Abyss, there were almost no signs of life.

Forget marine plants; even plankton were nowhere to be found.

This was a complete and utter land of death.

Only in the distance were there a few figures wandering through the water.

Staying here, Li Wei felt his own Divine Power Body weakening.

A special Power in this place was affecting the environment.

It caused the Life Force of any creature within it to drain away rapidly.

For Li Wei, what was draining away was his Divine Power.

Li Wei quickly left this dangerous area.

Approaching one of the creatures wandering in the sea, Li Wei discovered it was a giant octopus covered in tentacles.

The aura it emanated was extremely powerful.

It was comparable to a Demigod Level Powerhouse.

This was a mutated, Demigod Level giant octopus.

Sensing Li Wei’s approach, the Demigod Level giant octopus extended hundreds of tentacles of varying lengths and attacked him.

The tentacles formed a torrent that swept forward, devouring everything in its path.

A Fireball formed from Divine Power appeared in front of Li Wei.

The massive Fireball pushed forward against the surging tentacles, incinerating everything.

Before Li Wei’s Divine Power Fireball, the Demigod Level giant octopus had no power to resist, and most of its tentacles were burned away.

Suddenly, Li Wei felt a strange Power envelop the surrounding world.

The Divine Power Fireball in front of him was instantly extinguished.

It was as if something had instantly siphoned away his Divine Power.

The injured Demigod Level giant octopus, however, was completely unaffected. Its remaining tentacles eagerly rushed toward Li Wei.

Li Wei released his Divine Power to form an attack.

The moment the Divine Power left his body, it vanished.

His gaze hardened.

He could feel his body being devoured by some kind of power.

His body was also condensed from Divine Power.

This mysterious, Divine Power-devouring force did not spare his Divine Power Body, which was made entirely of Divine Power.

This world was devouring Li Wei.

Li Wei realized the danger.

Just as he was about to use a teleportation technique to escape,

a blinding golden light appeared before him, searing his eyes.

BANG!

He heard a massive crash.

He sensed the Demigod Level giant octopus rapidly fleeing the area.

"Li Wei, let’s go!"

Li Wei heard the voice of the Saint Dragon King.

He didn’t resist, allowing himself to be taken away.

WHOOSH! GLUG GLUG GLUG!

The Saint Dragon King grabbed Li Wei and transformed into a streak of golden Lightning, parting the seawater as he shot off into the distance.

After leaving that dangerous region, the Saint Dragon King finally came to a stop.

He released Li Wei, his enormous dragon eyes staring at Li Wei in surprise.

"How did you become a Demigod?" the Saint Dragon King asked in shock.

Li Wei said, "I made a trip to the Star Realm and had some fortuitous encounters. I was lucky enough to break through to the Demigod Level."

The Saint Dragon King stared at him and said, "I wouldn’t call that ’lucky.’ You can already form a Divine Power Body, which means you must have reached the very peak of the Demigod Realm. You’re only a single step away from godhood."

Li Wei was more concerned about the earlier anomaly and asked, "What was that just now? Why did I feel like my Divine Power was being devoured by something?"

A grave look appeared in the Saint Dragon King’s eyes. "That was..."
