Chapter 749 - 634: Spoils Distribution and Departure for the Other Plane

Chapter 749: Chapter 634: Spoils Distribution and Departure for the Other Plane

Two sealed containers quietly float above the fountain square, slowly rotating under the amber light.

One test tube contains salty fingers, with blue light contrasting eerily with the pale fingers.

Another container holds the graffiti ball, its surface flickering with runes, faint buzzing heard from within.

The atmosphere in the square subtly shifted the moment the sealing was completed.

Nine wizards were scattered around the square, maintaining a distance both near and far from each other.

Their gazes landed on those two containers, yet no one spoke first.

"Division of spoils" is not a term of refinement, but everyone present understood it was what needed to be done next.

The deep blue-robed warlock lightly coughed, breaking the silence: "Two eerie objects, nine people. What are your thoughts?"

"I think we can split these two eerie objects." The gaunt warlock pushed his nose bridge, "Though compressed into a conceptual aggregate, theoretically they can be divided. How many portions to divide them into depends on us."

"Nine portions." The burly warlock said, "One each, fair."

"The graffiti eerie object can be divided into nine portions, but the salty fingers cannot." The young witch shook her head, "Its operational principle is entirely different from the graffiti eerie object, splitting it would destroy its integrity and greatly diminish its research value."

"So you’re saying someone takes the salty fingers, others split the graffiti eerie object?" The burly warlock frowned, "Who would get the fingers?"

No one answered.

After a moment of silence, the cursed witch spoke, her pale gray eyes under the hood calmly watching those two containers.

"The intensity of the graffiti eerie far surpasses the salty fingers. Even if divided into eight parts, each piece’s eerie strength is still stronger than the salty fingers."

Her words were straightforward, but they voiced the fact known to everyone present, the reason for their hesitation.

The salty fingers was merely a low-level eerie object executing mechanical rules.

It could kill, make people taste salt, cause kidney failure, but that’s all.

For wizards, its research value is not high.

The graffiti eerie object is different.

It can rewrite reality, distort a Sixth Level Wizard’s arm from half a town away, and retains astonishing activity even when compressed to its limit.

Even divided into eight parts, each part’s value is higher than a complete salty finger.

"If one were to argue that the salty fingers are superior to the divided graffiti eerie parts." Jeming spoke, his tone flat, "It’s probably because it counts as a complete entity. For research, there is a distinction between complete sample and divided sample."

"But that distinction is not important." The Life System Wizard waved his hand, "We’re soon going to that eerie plane. Wizard Oston said there are all kinds of eerie objects there. We won’t lack complete samples then."

His words seemed like a statement.

Jeming glanced at him, then looked at the expressions of the other wizards.

Though not explicitly stated, the atmosphere was clear.

Everyone leaned toward assigning the salty fingers to one person, others taking the graffiti eerie object.

Jeming looked at the two containers floating in the air, then at the surrounding eight wizards, and nodded slightly: "Then I’ll take the salty fingers."

The wizards were a bit surprised at his words.

"I have no objection." The cursed witch was the first to agree.

"Agree." The young witch nodded.

The other wizards also nodded, none raising objections.

Facing the strange gazes of these wizards, Jeming said nothing more.

Actually, for him, the value of the salty fingers eerie object was higher than that of the graffiti eerie object.

After all, he had already thoroughly understood the rules related to the graffiti eerie object during his contact before, gathering a lot of data.

So for him, the value of another low-level complete eerie object was higher.

"Then the graffiti eerie object will be divided into eight portions." The deep blue-robed warlock looked at the cursed witch, "Will you do the dividing? You’re most familiar with the structure of curse-type entities."

The cursed witch nodded and walked towards the floating container.

She extended her left hand, revealing the black rune in her palm.

The rune slowly rotated, emitting dense black threads, probing into the container to envelop the curled graffiti ball.

The graffiti ball violently trembled the moment it was divided, its surface graffiti patterns changing madly, like a final struggle.

But the cursed witch’s technique was extremely precise, the black threads sliced into the concept fissures within the graffiti ball like surgical blades, dividing it into eight roughly equal parts.

Each part was individually enclosed within a black sphere condensed by curse power, floating in the air, emitting weak colors that continually changed.

"Take them." The cursed witch said.

Each of the eight wizards took a black sphere, Jeming also reached out and absorbed the test tube containing salty fingers into his Inner Grotto Heaven.

With the division complete, the next step was to receive the "reward".

The deep blue-robed warlock walked to the center of the square and drew a rune in the air.

The rune flickered a few times in mid-air, connecting to the Magic Network Terminal.

"Mission accomplished." He tapped on the terminal, uploading the completion mark.

Almost simultaneously, the air above the square violently shook.

A gigantic space rift tore open from the void, as if an invisible blade sliced the amber sky.

The rift extended from the ground to high above, spanning over a hundred meters long and dozens of meters wide, its edges glowing with a deep blue light.
