Cultivating in the Wizard World

Chapter 803 - 662: Fusion and Blood Net (Part 2)

Vito's expression was very calm.

He watched as the three Spiritualists bombarded the creature frantically, his face showing no emotional fluctuation.

His fingers continued to move quickly over the Array, the Rune at his fingertips flickering with a steady blue light.

His gaze occasionally shifted from the Array, landing on Collins.

He was observing how long Collins's body could last, the progress of the fusion between the anomaly and the host, and how much time it could buy him.

The pace of the three's assault increased rapidly.

The Chairman's Storm anomaly had been pushed to its limit, the lightning illuminating the entire hall as if it were daylight.

The female support's sonic impact had transformed from a single direction to an all-encompassing coverage, each shockwave causing the creature's body to temporarily stiffen.

The male support's shadow attacks became even sharper, targeting the freshly healed cracks on the creature's shell, each time inflicting new wounds.

The fused creature was starting to falter as well.

Its shell was riddled with cracks under the relentless bombardment, and the healing rate visibly slowed down.

The cracks extended from the surface to deeper layers, spreading from local areas to the entire body.

Its movements began to deform, the swinging of its flesh column lost its strength, and its steps began to stumble.

Seeing this, the three simultaneously intensified their attacks.

The Chairman's lightning transformed into a thick blue beam, slashing down from the ceiling.

The female support's sound waves entwined with the thunder, accurately shooting towards the creature's chest.

The male support's shadows formed into dozens of sharp spikes, surrounding the lightning and simultaneously piercing into the creature's body from all directions.

Facing the trio's combined strike, the creature's body suddenly stiffened and then started to tremble violently.

Its shell revealed countless cracks, dark liquid gushed out from the cracks, pooling onto the ground.

It still stood, blocking the path between the professor and the light cluster.

But its body was already beginning to collapse.

The professor's lips moved slightly, revealing a kind of expression similar to a sigh.

"What a pity." His voice was not loud, as if talking to himself, "Still lacking. My technology is still not perfect."

He withdrew his fingers from the Array.

Then, he reached out his hand and grasped the light cluster above his head.

As soon as the light cluster touched his fingers, it exploded like petals in bloom.

Countless cracks appeared on the surface of the light cluster, milky white light pouring out from the gaps, engulfing the professor's entire outline in a glaring halo.

The Runes spread from his forearm, crawling up his arm to his shoulder, then across his chest and back, from his back to his whole body.

His skin became transparent under the cover of the Runes, clearly showing that the blood vessels and muscles beneath were being rearranged and reorganized by some power.

The professor's body began to deform in the light, as if extending countless tentacles.

He lifted his head, his gaze piercing through the light, focusing on the creature that was already beginning to collapse.

"Thank you for your hard work."

His voice was gentle but echoed through the hall, each word clearly heard.

The creature's body jolted intensely.

On its face that had lost all expression, its mouth opened once more.

This time, the sound it emitted was clearer than ever before.

It was a human voice, old, hoarse, carrying a tone almost of relief:

"...Professor...go..."

The creature didn't finish its sentence as its body completely collapsed.

Its shell shattered into countless pieces, dark liquid spurted from the gaps, exploding into a massive black splash on the ground.

At the center of the splash, a small, hunchbacked body in a hospital gown fell down.

It was an old man.

His hair was white, his face full of wrinkles, his lips blue, his eyes tightly shut.

His body no longer bore the breath of Life.

It was Collins.

The Chairman took a step forward but then stopped.

He looked at the small corpse on the ground, his lips moved, but ultimately no sound came out.

Then he lifted his head, his gaze cutting through the light, staring at the professor.

"Vito Rain." His voice was deep, as if squeezed out from the depths of his chest, "Do you know how many people you've destroyed?"

The professor did not answer.

He simply stood quietly in the center of the light, watching his own body change bit by bit, like an observer.

The three strong spiritualists of the association didn't give him more time.

The Chairman had no interest in hearing his response, his hand suddenly swung down, odd forces gathered into a thick bolt of lightning, striking towards the professor's head.

The female support's sound waves and the male support's shadows followed closely, the three different types of forces intertwined in the air, forming an unavoidable attack.

Then, a red net stopped in front of them.

It was a barrier made of countless tiny blood drops, between solid and liquid.

The net's texture was so fine and dense that each thread was almost impossible to discern with the naked eye.

But their quantity was overwhelming, spreading from the professor's body surface, covering hundreds of meters of space around him in milliseconds.

The Chairman's lightning struck the net, blue arcs dispersed along the threads in all directions, like water flowing into countless tributaries, the energy diluted, dispersed, and ultimately vanished.

The female support's sound waves hit the net without even causing ripples.

The male support's shadows attempted to pass through the net's gaps, but the gaps automatically shrank as the shadows approached, forcibly blocking them outside.

"Blood Net!" The Chairman's voice suddenly rose, filled with an angry tremor, "The Disaster Level anomaly that once destroyed most of Middleton City is actually in your hands!"

The male support's face changed as well.

He had encountered Disaster Level anomalies before, and he himself was a Spiritualist of a Disaster Level anomaly.

But the aura of the Blood Net was completely different.

The same Disaster Level, this Blood Net's oppressive feeling was like they were not on the same Level.

"How can something this powerful be considered Disaster Level?!" His voice carried a hint of disbelief.

No one could answer him.

After blocking the three attacks, the Blood Net began to retract and transform.

The fine threads gathered towards the center as if they had Life, weaving into a human shape.

First the skeleton, then the muscles, then the skin…

Within seconds, a humanoid figure made of red substance stood before them.

That face was Vito Rain's face.

If the professor's previous expression was "calm".

Then the face of this red figure was indifferent and hollow, like a being beyond human emotion overlooking a group of ants.

The transformed professor's gaze did not fall on the three Spiritualists.

He didn't even glance their way.

His gaze crossed over the Chairman's head, over the shoulders of the male and female support, landing behind the stone pillar at the edge of the hall.

Jeming sighed inwardly.

He knew he had been discovered.

Not because he exposed any flaws, but because of the Blood Net.

The moment this anomaly appeared, Jeming's All-Purpose Eye caught the problem.

Besides the visible red threads, there were countless others, almost undetectable to normal people, radiating from the Blood Net's core, covering every corner of the hall.

This was a rare, physically-layered full coverage search.

Each transparent thread was an extension of the Blood Net's sensing system, anything that came into contact with them, whether tangible or intangible energy, would be perceived by it.

Void Step could blend into the environment, eliminate energy fluctuations, and render one's existence ignored.

But it couldn't make Jeming "nonexistent".

Of course, Jeming had ways to evade these detections.

But... it was unnecessary.

The professor's gaze paused briefly in the direction where Jeming was hiding.

Then his eyes blinked.

The three spiritualists from the association simultaneously disappeared, directly "shifted" to another location within this Alternate Space by some power, at least a few kilometers from here.

For a time, only two people were left in the hall.
