Chapter 391 - 208: People of Two Worlds

Chapter 391: Chapter 208: People of Two Worlds

Furthermore, she had chosen to disperse a considerable portion of her Guards among the surrounding towns to ensure the safety of the people there.

But Lania City, on the other hand, completely disregarded the lives of the common folk. When faced with the Goblin disaster, they didn’t disperse their forces to help the surrounding villages and towns survive the crisis. Instead, they did the exact opposite, recalling all the Guards from across their territory to the main city. As a result, when the Goblins attacked, these villages and towns had almost no power to resist.

A handful of Adventurers or local militiamen might have been able to defeat small numbers of Goblins, but they were utterly powerless against a Goblin Army.

Without support from Silver Stream City, the number of casualties among the residents of the villages and towns surrounding Lania City would have been unimaginable!

Even so, this was a rescue mission, not a defense of her own city. Lady Beixina couldn’t risk sending the majority of her Guards; at most, she could only dispatch half her forces, perhaps even fewer.

The same went for the Adventurers—very few were willing to come.

The most they could do was prevent the disaster’s losses from becoming utterly devastating. They could at least save some of the region’s inhabitants, keeping it from turning into a complete wasteland.

Casting aside his distracting thoughts, Lin Mo’s anger flared as he watched the Goblins swaggering about.

[Flame Linked Stars]!

A powerful concentration of the Fire Element gathered in his palm, transforming into a series of Blast Flame Fireballs that scattered and flew toward the Goblin hordes.

Each Fireball triggered a small explosion upon impact, engulfing the Goblins in the blast.

Under the barrage of Blast Flame Fireballs, the air was instantly filled with the agonized screams of Goblins.

The other Adventurers also charged into the village. They searched along streets nearly buried in rubble, killing every Goblin they saw.

However, unlike the situation in Falling Leaves Village, the Goblins here were more spread out, and the Adventurers were few in number, so their clearing efficiency wasn’t very high.

"Let’s see if we can find any survivors first!"

Landon reminded, slaying a Goblin as he spoke.

Lin Mo snapped back to his senses and calmed down slightly. He began to intentionally let some of the Goblins escape, observing the direction they fled.

’This way!’

Lin Mo used the [Shadow Splitting] skill and followed them.

His real body, meanwhile, remained behind to continue fighting and clearing out the nearby Goblins.

The complex terrain of these ruined streets was ill-suited for large-scale Magic Skills.

It was the perfect opportunity for Lin Mo to test out a few other Skills he had recently learned.

[Jump Slash]

Lin Mo leaped suddenly, soaring forward. He crossed a dozen meters in an instant. The Sword in his hand fell, slicing the Goblin before him cleanly in two from top to bottom.

When the blade struck the ground, it sliced through the earth as if it were tofu. The powerful shockwave alone was enough to kill several nearby Goblins.

This wasn’t because the skill itself was powerful. In fact, it was just a rather Ordinary Level Skill, one with a few unique characteristics but also significant drawbacks.

The only reason it looked so spectacular was because Lin Mo’s Attributes were simply monstrous.

His Strength Attribute, including the bonus from his Profession, was already at 94. The Frost Dragon Scale Sword added another 30, bringing his total to a terrifying 124!

With that much Strength, even a simple [Slashing] skill would produce an exaggerated effect.

Meanwhile, as Lin Mo continued to slay the Goblins, his Clone followed the fleeing ones to the edge of the village.

This village was also situated near the mountains. Upon reaching the outskirts, the clone saw a large number of Goblins surrounding a small hill, continuously assaulting its peak.

’It seems the surviving villagers are on top of that hill!’
