Chapter 477: Chapter 235: Setting Out on the Journey, New Skill "Strength Increase

Deke and his group sat waiting in the Adventurer’s Association hall, taking the opportunity to study the map for the mission more closely.

After all, they were heading into a dangerous area like the Blackwater Swamp and would have to pass close to its core area. Even though this was considered a relatively simple C Level Task, Deke had never personally led a mission of this level before. As a result, he was a little nervous and being extremely cautious.

Meanwhile, Lin Mo had gone up to the Association’s second floor. Similar to the Adventurer’s Association in Silver Stream City, the second and third floors of the Fajade Adventurer Association were dedicated to selling equipment, Alchemy Items, Skill Scrolls, and the like.

However, in terms of both scale and the sheer quantity of equipment and items, the Fajade City Adventurer’s Association was clearly on another level.

Lin Mo’s eyes swept across the area. A wide variety of items were neatly arranged by type, each with a clearly marked price and a brief description.

Even in these small details, it was much more polished than what you would find in a smaller city.

However, after a look around, Lin Mo didn’t find what he wanted. He walked over to the second-floor counter and asked the staff member there, "I’d like to purchase a Skill Scroll for the Priest Profession. Does the Association have any in stock at the moment?"

"We should have some. One moment, please..."

The staff member checked the database and quickly replied, "Adventurer, we currently have three Skill Scrolls for the Priest Profession in stock. Please go to display case number 21 in the east section of the third floor to see them."

"Alright, thank you."

Lin Mo nodded and headed straight for the third floor.

’This Magic Energy System is quite convenient. It not only records data but also allows for quick searches... I heard that in some cities in the Empire, there’s a trendy new Magic Technology, different from these isolated Magic Energy Systems. It’s capable of linking these systems together through the remote resonance of Magic Power, enabling information to be shared and transmitted.

With so many Magic Energy Systems interconnected, it forms a dense web, which is why this new technology is called the "Magic Net."’

From Lin Mo’s perspective, this thing was highly similar to the internet on Blue Star.

He was also very curious about this so-called "Magic Net." He’d heard that they were already starting to trial personal Magic Net accounts, and he looked forward to trying it out whenever he got to the Empire.

But back to the matter at hand. Following the staff member’s directions, Lin Mo went straight to the east section of the third floor. Every display rack in the Adventurer’s Association had a clear number, and by following them, Lin Mo quickly found number 21.

There wasn’t much in display case number 21—only the three Skill Scrolls for the Priest Profession.

Lin Mo examined them one by one. The first Skill Scroll was for the most basic, most common skill of the Priest Profession: Healing Technique.

He had learned this Skill long ago, so he put it right back down.

The second scroll was a green Xiu Level Skill Scroll, titled Light’s Drumming.

This was also a Skill Lin Mo had already learned. Shaking his head in disappointment, he turned to the last scroll.

’This scroll isn’t [Continuous Healing], is it?’

’It was true that the few Priest Skills he’d learned so far were among the most common for the Profession, but it would be too frustrating if all three scrolls were duplicates.’

’If that was the case, he’d have to either wait until he trained one of his Priest Professional Skills to the point of evolution, or go try his luck at the black market.’

With a sense of apprehension, Lin Mo checked the tag on the third Skill Scroll.

[Strength Growth]

"Oh?"

Lin Mo’s eyebrows shot up.

It wasn’t just because this was a Skill he hadn’t learned yet, but more because of its name.

’Strength Growth... Could this be a Skill that raises the Strength Attribute?’

The Skills of the Priest Profession could be broadly divided into four categories.

The first category was naturally what the Profession is most famous for: the widely known Healing Skills. The second was various Beneficial Skills, such as Feney’s [Light Aid] or the [Light’s Drumming] that Lin Mo had already learned.

The third category was Defense Class Skills, like the [Demon-Resisting Shield] Lin Mo had just learned.

The final category, the opposite of Beneficial Skills, was debuff skills—commonly known as Curse skills—which were comparatively rare.

These four categories of Magic were not mutually exclusive; some higher-Level Magic could serve two purposes at once.

For example, during the battle to defend Silver Stream City, Bishop Fletcher from the city’s Holy Light Church had demonstrated a Healing and Defense Magic with an astonishingly large area of effect—[Holy Light Barrier].

While that Magic couldn’t be said to have single-handedly turned the tide of battle, it did at least halt the Goblins’ advance for a short period, buying the soldiers of Silver Stream City some incredibly precious breathing room. It even came with a partial Healing Effect.

The impact a powerful Priest could have on the battlefield was considerable, sometimes even exceeding that of a Mage.

Lin Mo was actually quite interested in learning the Skills of the Priest Profession. Once he completed his advancement to the Elite Level, he planned to dedicate more effort to practicing them.

Lin Mo looked at the effect description on the scroll’s tag.

[Strength Growth]: Slightly increases the designated target’s Strength Attribute.

Just as he thought.

Without a moment’s hesitation, Lin Mo picked up the scroll and went to the counter to pay for it.

Trying to learn from it without paying was impossible. The Energy contained within a scroll was finite; it would deplete each time it was used for learning, and the Association kept records of each scroll’s Energy level.
