Giant Dragon Lord: Starting from Daily Intelligence

Chapter 669 - 477: Spatial Rift to a Doomsday World

Chapter 669: Chapter 477: Spatial Rift to a Doomsday World

"Where’s Kado? Is he still floundering around in the sky?"

Raylo nodded and asked.

"Lord Kado said he wants to use the month this reverse-gravity space exists to take his Gravity Domain to the next level. He’s been floating in that Mushroom Forest almost every day."

"Lord Gordo is accompanying him."

Hearing Raylo’s question, Ed couldn’t help but laugh as he spoke.

The warm sun of early winter shone through the huge French windows of the Lord’s Mansion’s study, casting patches of light on the floor.

On the rug by his feet.

There, the three little ones were huddled together, fast asleep.

Moonlight’s long tail was draped over Coal Ball’s round, plump body like a magnificent velvet blanket.

Meanwhile, one of Coal Ball’s paws rested restlessly on Lightning’s head nearby.

Lightning was coiled up in a circle, its breathing steady and deep, sound asleep.

The sunlight fell upon them, outlining them with a fuzzy golden edge. The scene was impossibly peaceful.

A faint smile played on Raylo’s lips as he reached out with the tip of his foot and gently poked Lightning’s head.

"Wake up, you little sleepyheads. It’s time to go."

Lightning’s eyelids twitched. It reluctantly opened them a crack, its golden, slitted pupils filled with a sleepy haze.

It flicked its tail in response.

Its movement startled the other two awake.

Coal Ball yawned, blinking its obsidian-like eyes. It squirmed out from under Moonlight’s tail, expertly scrambled up Raylo’s pant leg, and finally settled on his shoulder, rubbing its furry cheek against his neck.

Moonlight stood up and stretched lazily.

"Let’s go."

Raylo stood up and led the three little ones out of the study.

In the grand plaza outside the Lord’s Mansion, the eight-legged Steel Giant Beast still stood silently.

The Knights of the Moonlight Knight Order on guard duty straightened their backs, their gazes fixed on him in a silent salute as he emerged.

Raylo didn’t stop, crossing straight through the plaza and heading outside the city.

The moment they passed through the city gates, Lightning leaped from his shoulder. In mid-air, its body instantly swelled to a colossal size!

"ROAR!"

A piercing dragon’s roar echoed through the clouds.

In the blink of an eye, it had reverted to its true form: a Thunder Dragon covered entirely in blue Dragon Scales.

Tyrannical Dragon Mighty radiated outwards, causing the warhorses of the nearby patrolling soldiers to stir restlessly.

Raylo tapped his toes to the ground and shot up, landing steadily on Lightning’s broad back.

Moonlight followed close behind, transforming into a silver streak of light and landing gracefully in front of him.

Coal Ball, however, remained firmly perched on his shoulder, surveying the surroundings.

"Go, Lightning. Northwest, toward the Black Stone Mountain Range."

"ROAR!"

Lightning let out an excited roar and gave a powerful flap of its wings.

With a howl of wind, the enormous figure soared into the sky, speeding toward the Black Stone Mountain Range.

The wind whistled in his ears as the earth rapidly receded below.

Raylo looked down upon his territory. Black Stone City had already begun to take shape, its black walls like a pair of sturdy arms embracing the thriving city.

Farther out, large swathes of land had been cleared and were neatly planned out.

Roads radiated out from Black Stone City in all directions, like the very veins of the earth.

Everything was developing in the right direction.

Lightning’s flight speed was immense. In just over half an hour, a rolling mountain range appeared on the horizon.

At the border between the Amber Territory and the Black Stone Territory, there was an extremely deep and narrow canyon, like a hideous scar cleaved into the earth by a Giant Axe.

This was the "Wailing Canyon," so named because an eerie mountain wind constantly echoed within it, creating sounds like the wails of ghosts and howls of wolves.

Raylo’s gaze swept over the canyon, and he soon spotted the Knights assigned to guard a relatively gentle entrance.

"Down, Lightning."

Understanding, Lightning folded its wings, its massive body plummeting toward the canyon’s depths like a meteor.

After passing through the narrow "sliver of sky" at the canyon’s entrance, the view suddenly opened up.

The bottom of the canyon was barren and filled with jagged rocks.

It was flanked by sheer cliffs that looked as if they had been carved by knives and axes. Looking up, one could only see a long, narrow strip of sky.

The light grew dim here, and the air became much colder and gloomier.

"BZZZ..."

A faint spatial fluctuation, like the humming of bees, emanated from deeper within the canyon.

Lightning landed steadily on a relatively open patch of stony ground, the gust from its wings sending loose gravel flying.

"My Lord!"

A figure strode quickly out of the shadows to greet him. It was Master Marlin.

"Master Marlin, thank you for your hard work."

Raylo leaped down from the dragon’s back.

"It is my honor to serve you, My Lord."

Master Marlin bowed.

"What’s the situation?"

Raylo asked.

"My Lord, the rift is stable."

Master Marlin said.

"But... but, the aura leaking from it is very... very strange."

"Decay, corruption... It’s like... the final wail of a dying world."

His description was identical to the one in Ed’s report.

Raylo nodded.

"Take me to see it."

"Yes, My Lord."

Master Marlin led the way.

The deeper they went into the canyon, the more distinct the feeling of spatial fluctuation became.

A repressive aura filled the air, like an invisible shackle clamping down on the heart of every living being who entered.

The light grew ever dimmer, and the surrounding cliff faces were covered in the marks of time’s erosion.

After walking for several hundred meters, Master Marlin came to a halt.
