Chapter 688 - 486: The Whereabouts of the Catastrophe Level Creature’s Heart

Chapter 688: Chapter 486: The Whereabouts of the Catastrophe Level Creature’s Heart

Its massive body began to rise slowly, piercing through the clouds and accelerating westward.

Standing on the whale’s back, Raylo looked down at the rapidly shrinking Black Stone City, his gaze shifting toward the distant Black Stone Mountain Range.

The Cloud Sea Giant Whale traveled through the layers of clouds, its enormous body kicking up a gale and powerful currents of air.

Aboard the whale’s back, over a hundred Hill Giants were either sitting or standing, the javelins in their hands glinting with a cold, metallic light.

Hank walked up to Raylo’s side.

"My lord, Dragon’s Fang Peak is just ahead."

Raylo nodded, his eyes fixed on the distance.

A sharp peak, like a dragon’s tooth, pierced the Cloud Sea. Its summit was shrouded in a dark red halo, giving it a sweltering and eerie appearance.

The Cloud Sea Giant Whale slowed, casting a colossal shadow over the mountain range below.

"WOOOOO—!"

A long, drawn-out whale call echoed through the sky.

On the mountain peak, the Magical Beasts that had been attacking the Light Shield all stopped in unison, raising their heads to look at the sky.

A dozen or so gazes, filled with brutality and greed, locked onto the Cloud Sea Giant Whale.

"ROAR!"

A sky-shaking roar erupted from the peak, heavy with warning.

Raylo paid it no mind. He patted the back of the Cloud Sea Giant Whale.

"Keep moving forward. Get closer to the peak."

The Cloud Sea Giant Whale obediently continued forward, its massive body beginning a slow descent.

Just then, four enormous figures shot out from the smaller peaks next to Dragon’s Fang Peak, blocking the Cloud Sea Giant Whale’s path.

Raylo narrowed his eyes, sizing up the four uninvited guests.

The one in the lead was a giant bird with a wingspan of a hundred meters. Its feathers were grayish-black, and every flap of its wings stirred up a storm.

’Storm Giant Simurgh.’

Raylo recognized it.

To the Storm Giant Simurgh’s left was a Gargoyle made entirely of obsidian. Its wings were not feathered but were jagged stone, shimmering with a metallic luster.

To the right was a Two-headed Vulture. One of its heads could spit acid, while the other could emit sonic waves that stunned the mind. It was a troublesome Magical Beast.

The last one, and the strangest, was a giant moth.

Its wings were covered in brilliant patterns. With every flap, they scattered countless sparkling scales that refracted the sunlight into a mesmerizing luster.

’Illusory Poison Moth.’

The four Domain Level Flying Magical Beasts had completely blocked the Cloud Sea Giant Whale’s path.

The Storm Giant Simurgh let out a sharp cry, as if issuing an ultimatum.

"Gordo."

Raylo’s voice was quiet.

"Sir!"

Gordo stepped forward, his massive body casting a heavy shadow.

"Have the Giant Legion prepare to attack."

Raylo’s gaze swept over the four Flying Magical Beasts.

"The moment they’re in range, shoot them out of the sky."

"Yes, sir!"

Gordo turned and issued the order to the Giant Legion behind him.

Over a hundred Hill Giants rose in unison. They raised their javelins, the veins on their knotted, muscular arms bulging.

A murderous aura began to spread across the whale’s back.

The four Domain Level Flying Magical Beasts blocking their way also felt the pressure. They circled restlessly, letting out a series of threatening hisses and cries.

They were unwilling to give up the alluring Treasure on the peak, yet they were wary of the dangerous beings on the Cloud Sea Giant Whale.

The stalemate lasted only a dozen seconds.

The Two-headed Vulture was the first to lose its patience. Its two heads opened their beaks simultaneously, and a stream of dark green acid and an invisible sonic wave shot toward the Cloud Sea Giant Whale.

Raylo snorted. ’Courting death.’

Beside him, Moonlight had stood up at some point.

A silver glint flashed in Moonlight’s eyes, and a silver screen of light materialized out of thin air in front of the Cloud Sea Giant Whale.

The acid and the sonic wave struck the screen of light, causing it to ripple violently before they dissipated into nothing.

"Gordo!" Raylo ordered.

"Fire!"

Gordo’s thunderous roar echoed through the clouds!

Before Gordo’s roar had even faded, over a hundred ten-meter-long javelins flew out in unison from behind him.

The moment the javelins left their hands, they created a piercing sonic boom.

They transformed into over a hundred streaks of light, tearing through the air with unstoppable momentum as they converged on the Two-headed Vulture in the sky.

The Two-headed Vulture, which had just attacked, had no time to react.

It only had time to let out a terrified shriek before dozens of javelins pierced its body from different angles.

SQUELCH!

The sound of the javelins sinking into flesh was dull yet distinct.

The Two-headed Vulture’s massive body stiffened abruptly, and the vicious light in its two heads instantly dimmed.

It didn’t even have a chance to struggle before its enormous body fell stiffly from the sky, carving a huge crater into the mountainside below.

A single volley, an instant kill!

The remaining three Flying Magical Beasts were stunned by the sudden turn of events.

"ROAR!"

Gordo roared again. The Giants behind him had already taken a second javelin from their backs.

"Second volley, ready!"

The Storm Giant Simurgh was the first to react. It let out a terrified cry and powerfully flapped its huge wings.

A hurricane formed out of thin air, sweeping up countless fragments of rock and ice as it surged toward the Giant Legion on the whale’s back, attempting to stop their next attack.

"Fire!"

Gordo’s voice rang out again.

Another hundred-plus javelins whistled through the air like the scythes of a grim reaper.

This time, the target was the Domain Level Gargoyle.

The Gargoyle shrieked as it folded its jagged stone wings, wrapping its body in an attempt to withstand the blow head-on.

CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!

A rapid series of metallic clashes rang out.

The javelins slammed into the Gargoyle’s body, erupting in countless sparks.

The Gargoyle’s defense was indeed astonishing; most of the javelins were deflected.

However, a dozen or so javelins still struck true, hitting the joints of its wings and the gaps not fully covered by the stone.

CRACK!

A crisp cracking sound echoed out.

One of the Gargoyle’s stone wings was brutally smashed off its body.

Immediately after, a javelin plunged viciously into a gap in its neck.

"ROAR!"

The Gargoyle let out a pained roar. Its massive body lost its balance and spiraled toward the ground.

For this battle, the Giants’ javelins had all been coated with a poison called "Sigh of the Giant Dragon," posing a tremendous threat to these Domain Level Magical Beasts.

"Third volley!"

Gordo raised a third javelin, his face expressionless.

In the sky, the remaining Storm Giant Simurgh and Illusory Poison Moth were utterly terrified.

They didn’t dare to linger for another moment. Letting out a terrified shriek, they abruptly changed direction and fled frantically into the distance.

Their speed was several times faster than when they had arrived.

Raylo did not give the order to pursue.

His target was the heart on the mountain peak; there was no need to waste time hunting down these Magical Beasts.

"Well done, Gordo."

Raylo clapped Gordo on the shoulder.

"Happy to be of service, my lord!"

Gordo grinned, revealing a mouthful of white teeth.

The Giants behind him also let out triumphant cheers, beating their chests to vent the thrill of battle.

The Cloud Sea Giant Whale slowly descended, landing on the mountainside of Dragon’s Fang Peak.

The Giants on the whale’s back jumped off one after another, like dumplings being dropped into a pot, and quickly formed up on a wide, open area on the mountainside.

Raylo leaped down from the whale’s back, his gaze fixed on the summit.

With the Magical Beasts no longer blocking his view, he could see the situation on the peak clearly.

The blue Energy Shield was still holding strong.

Outside the shield, seven or eight massive Magical Beasts of various shapes and sizes stood guard.

They had also witnessed the battle in the sky and were filled with hostility and vigilance toward Raylo’s group of uninvited guests.

"ROAR!"

A deafening roar came from the summit.

The roar was filled with such a violent aura that it made the entire Dragon’s Fang Peak tremble.
