Giant Dragon Lord: Starting from Daily Intelligence

Chapter 822 - 551: New Information and Meeting the Three Sages

Chapter 822: Chapter 551: New Information and Meeting the Three Sages

As night fell, the entire Valley of the Giant’s Sleep transformed into a sea of joy. Massive bonfires blazed fiercely, the roaring flames reflecting red on the faces of both Giants and humans. Large chunks of Magical Beast Meat were roasted over the fire, sizzling loudly. As the fat dripped into the flames, the air filled with tantalizing aromas.

The Giants sang and danced around the bonfires. Their rugged voices echoed through the valley, filled with yearning for their new lives and gratitude toward Raylo. The human craftsmen and soldiers also set aside their usual restraint, sharing ale and roasted meat with these good-natured giants.

Sitting at the seat of honor, Raylo raised his cup alongside Kado, Ed, and the others. Looking at the lively and harmonious scene before him, he knew that the Hill Giant race had finally, truly integrated into the Black Stone Territory.

The revelry lasted late into the night.

The next day.

The morning sun shone into Raylo’s bedroom, casting patches of light through the half-drawn curtains. Coal Ball hopped between them, seemingly playing a game of hopscotch like a human child.

Raylo was already up, holding a steaming cup of black tea.

Recently, a considerable amount of intelligence came in every day, but for the current Raylo, not much of it was valuable. He basically handed over any useful intelligence to Ed, who would assign people to handle it. Today, however, one specific piece of intelligence caught his attention.

[10: The Light Holy See’s Holy Fleet has departed from Holy Light Port and is expected to arrive at the Radiant Sun Islands in half a month. The commander of the Holy Fleet is a Catastrophe Level Divine Mage, Saint Lorand, and he has two Six-winged Angels of Death under his command. After staying at the Radiant Sun Islands for a week, the Holy Fleet will set off alongside the Radiant Sun Islands’ Radiant Sun Fleet to attack Baisha Port. They intend to use it as a landing base to prepare for a large-scale invasion by the Radiant Sun Islands’ Allied Army.]

Three Catastrophe Level powerhouses. And that was just the force sent by the Light Holy See.

As the host, the Radiant Sun Islands were mobilizing their Radiant Sun Fleet in full force. Given the Radiant Sun Islands’ power, there would be at least one or two Catastrophe Level experts commanding the fleet. In other words, in half a month, he would be facing at least five, possibly even more, Catastrophe Level experts.

"Five Catastrophe Level experts..." Raylo muttered to himself.

This was no longer just a war; it was a meat grinder capable of crushing most kingdoms. Even though the Black Stone Territory now possessed a robust military, complete with the Hill Giant Legion and Giant Dragon companions, they still appeared somewhat thin against enemies of this caliber.

In the face of a Catastrophe Level existence, a Domain Level expert—unless they were among the absolute strongest—was nothing more than a slightly hardier ant. It was a qualitative gap.

"This is troublesome," Raylo chuckled self-deprecatingly.

In the past, he might have found this daunting, even anxiety-inducing. But now, his state of mind was vastly different. The larger the chessboard, the more interesting the game.

He stood up and paced toward the study. Moonlight lazily lifted its eyelids, only to close them once more.

Inside the study, a massive sandbox accurately simulated the terrain of the Black Stone Territory and its surroundings. Raylo’s gaze landed on the Radiant Sun Islands in the western ocean and Baisha Port in the southern part of the Duchy.

Baisha Port was the key. Once taken by the enemy, the Radiant Sun Islands’ vast army could pour endlessly into the Duchy’s heartland through this landing point. When that happened, the entire Southeast Coast would be reduced to scorched earth.

He had to hold Baisha Port. Or rather, he had to crush this combined fleet out at sea. But that was far easier said than done.

Just then, a knock sounded at the door.

KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK.

"Come in," Raylo said without turning his head.

The study door was pushed open. Personal Guard Captain Ed stood respectfully at the doorway and stepped aside, revealing the guest behind him.

It was Mage Delin.

A trace of surprise flashed through Raylo’s eyes. He immediately turned around and bowed slightly in greeting. "Master Delin, what brings you here in person?"

A gentle smile appeared on Mage Delin’s face as he slowly walked into the study. "Raylo, I have come under orders to take you somewhere."

"Under orders?" Raylo astutely caught the phrasing. The number of people in this world who could order Master Delin around could be counted on one hand.

Mage Delin said, "The Three Sages have returned from beyond the heavens. They... wish to see you."

Raylo’s pupils shrank drastically. He hadn’t lost his composure like this even when facing the intelligence of the five impending Catastrophe Level enemies.

The Three Sages! The founders of Mage City! The living legends of the entire Magic World! Supreme beings rumored to have long surpassed the Catastrophe Level and reached the World Destruction Level! They were gods in the eyes of mortals!

Ever since their last appearance hundreds of years ago, when they quelled the Undead Celestial Calamity that had swept across the Continent, the Three Sages had vanished without a trace. Legends said they had entered the endless Star Realm to explore the ultimate mysteries of the world.

Now, they had returned? And they had explicitly asked to see him?

Countless thoughts flashed through Raylo’s mind.

"Me?" Raylo forced down the shock in his heart, keeping his voice steady.

"Yes, you," Mage Delin nodded affirmatively. "The Sages wish to personally hear your views on the matters regarding the Light Holy See and the Giant Dragon Realm."

"I understand," Raylo answered decisively. "When do we depart?"

"Right now," Mage Delin replied.

Before his voice faded, he lightly tapped his Magic Staff against the ground.

HUM!

An invisible ripple instantly spread out. On the floor, complex and esoteric silver Magic Patterns appeared out of thin air, quickly intertwining to outline and form a circular Array about three meters in diameter.
