Lord: I Grind EXP with Warband Panel

Chapter 527 - 260: Kemal’s Plot

Chapter 527: Chapter 260: Kemal’s Plot

Its purpose was to drive all living beings on the battlefield into a frenzy, something akin to the Bloodthirsty Cloud Qi.

This Array was far too bloody to be the work of Beastmen. It originated, of course, from the Elf Race.

The Elf Race was perpetually at war. Aside from Undead Magic, which was a universally acknowledged scourge on the continent, they dabbled in anything and everything, no matter how taboo.

For the past few days, the Beast Emperor had led his army in what seemed like suicidal charges. Besides whittling down the Gray Dwarves, his other objective was to prepare this very Array.

After all, for a group of Beastmen to handle so many Gray Dwarves on their own was nothing short of a fool’s errand.

"The Gray Dwarves have come out, haven’t they?" Kemal asked.

"Have the Soldiers take the Beast God’s Blood."

...

Over on Robson’s side, Earl Uman, the nobles from beyond the pass, and those from Novovich Province still loyal to the Fengman Clan were ecstatic when they received the summons to assemble.

"Sir Robson, your magnanimity is something we could never hope to match."

Earl Uman had hurried to Robson’s side. Looking at the man before him, he couldn’t help but feel a surge of emotion.

He was a man who could both act decisively and let bygones be bygones. Just a few months ago, Robson had been locked in a life-or-death struggle with the nobles from beyond the pass. Now, he was allowing them to take part in a battle that was practically overflowing with political prestige.

Combined with the skill Robson had displayed on the battlefield over the past few months, Uman reckoned that the nobles from beyond the pass would soon be genuinely and completely won over by this up-and-coming lord.

"You flatter me, my Lord Count. I’m merely doing what must be done," Robson said with a smile.

As he spoke, Robson handed a letter to Earl Uman.

Earl Uman took it, puzzled.

The letter was the very same levy order that Louis III had previously given him.

Earl Uman quickly scanned it, his heart in turmoil.

’I can’t believe it. What I once said to fool a simpleton has actually come true.’

’In the past, I might have been jealous. Now, I just feel lucky. Thank goodness I sided with him early. When this northern faction emerges, won’t I be one of its leaders?’

"Sir Robson, your methods are brilliant. I am no match for you," Earl Uman said.

’The greater Robson’s potential, the happier I am. It means my own potential will also be that much greater.’

"It was just luck..."

As the two were talking, a faint tremor suddenly ran through the ground.

A hint of confusion appeared in Robson’s eyes.

"What’s going on?"

"Such a thick aura of blood!"

In the distant sky, a blood-red canopy enveloped the heavens and the earth.

’So, the Beast Emperor isn’t going down that easily.’

"Order the entire army to advance at full speed!" Robson commanded.

’Whatever they’re doing over there, I have to get there quickly.’

’I have to make a name for myself in a battle of this scale, no matter what.’

...

"Kill the traitors!"

"Kill the traitors!"

Meanwhile, at the Beastman Camp, King Monroe, clad in golden armor, burst forth from his camp at the rear. He charged with a crazed look in his eyes.

The Gray Dwarves, who had been suffering one defeat after another, had now somehow fielded an elite army of over ten thousand.

Golden armor filled the field, and roars shook the heavens.

"Follow me and slay the villains!" King Monroe bellowed, sounding for all the world as if it were true.

Of course, even if it wasn’t true, it had to be made true now.

King Monroe led his army straight into the Beastman Army’s camp, meeting no resistance along the way.

Part of the Beastman Army had been dispatched to fend off the human Cavalry from the south, while another part had been sent north.

The main Beastman encampment was now at its most vulnerable!

"We are only here for the Pseudo-Emperor! Those who surrender will not be harmed!"

King Monroe stood atop his chariot, his entire body having turned a silvery white.

This was not the same silver-white as Robson’s. This was a martial art exclusive to the Dwarf Race: Celestial God Descending.

At King Monroe’s side, two Legendary Gray Dwarves also activated Celestial God Descending.

King Monroe charged deeper into the camp.

’This is going too smoothly.’

Monroe was filled with suspicion.

"Slay the traitors!"

"For the Empire!"

Finally, as King Monroe hesitated, wavering with indecision...

...shouts echoed from the camp ahead.

’So this is where they were hiding.’

"Annihilate the Pseudo-Emperor!"

"In this battle, one Gold for every Beastman head! If we kill the Pseudo-Emperor, the entire army will feast for ten days!" King Monroe roared.

At his words, the ranks of Gray Dwarves erupted.

"Kill the Pseudo-Emperor!"

"Save the Beast Emperor!"

’The last camp.’

King Monroe, riding a Wild Magical Boar, charged directly through the entrance to the main camp.

Sure enough, this camp was densely packed with Beastmen.

Nearly every Soldier in the Beastman Army had a look of grim resolve in their eyes.

’I’m sure I heard someone shouting slogans before, but now that I’m here, it’s deathly silent.’

"Ke... Pseudo-Emperor!"

Even in this situation, King Monroe was startled to see Emperor Kemal.

"Thinking of taking my crown?" Kemal asked with a smile.

"Pseudo-Emperor, let’s see how much longer you can act so arrogant!"

Kemal said nothing, simply downing a mouthful of a purple potion.

As Kemal did so, figures throughout the entire Beastman Corps swallowed a strange, blood-red potion.

King Monroe recognized it.

Beast God’s Blood.

"You really are insane. How long do you think that stuff can buy you?" King Monroe sneered.

’Beast God’s Blood is potent, true, but it’s hard to say if any sanity remains after it’s used up.’

"It’s enough, as long as I can eliminate the traitors."

Kemal said no more. The wounds all over his body actually began to slowly heal.

King Monroe knew this was only temporary.

"Pseudo-Emperor, you think you can destroy me in your current state?"

The aura of a Legendary-tier Emperor returned to his body. A phantom image, dozens of meters tall, appeared in the sky above.

Kemal felt a little dazed. It had been so long since he’d felt like this—a man brimming with power, conquering the wild stallions and fierce eagles of the plains.

Seeing this, King Monroe glanced at the Legendary Warrior beside him.

The Legendary Warrior shook his head.

"It’s a front."

"His power right now is Golden Ninth Tier at most."

King Monroe was puzzled.

"Then why is his phantom so tall?"

"I don’t know."

For some reason, King Monroe felt a little uneasy.

’But I just can’t figure it out.’

’Other than being big, what’s the use of that phantom? Just to attract attention?’

"And you expect to destroy me in this condition?"

Kemal was relishing his rebirth.

"Monroe."

"I deeply regret not killing you back then."

"Regret is useless now. I truly have no other choice."

"But even if I can’t kill you today, that doesn’t mean someone else can’t!"

King Monroe didn’t understand.

Then, all of a sudden, a bloody light erupted from all sides.

The entire camp was suddenly enveloped in a thick, crimson haze.

Staring at the crimson light, King Monroe felt a strange anxiety creep into his heart.

"Fight for me!"

"Slay the traitors!"

Before King Monroe could react...

...Kemal raised his arm and gave a great cry, and thousands of Soldiers answered his call.

King Monroe suspected nothing.

"For the Empire! Kill the Pseudo-Emperor!"
