Quick Transmigration: Underdog Turns out to be Untouchable

Chapter 1768: Chapter 1615: Interdimensional Entertainment Tycoon 45

Jian Shuangshuang and Hao Ren rode on horseback, with the Xuan Fire Array Plate on the horse’s back. The two people and one snake barely rested along the way, riding hard for two days straight before reaching the place where Hao Ren said he’d encountered Fan Chusheng’s soul.

The place where Fan Chusheng’s soul appeared was the Fan Family’s old estate. Later, after Hao Ren in a fit of anger ruined the entire Fan Family and left them destitute, this mansion was abandoned because everyone had been driven away.

Recently, some common people said this place was haunted. A friend who had a fairly good relationship with Hao Ren happened to pass by here, and when he heard about the haunting, he came to take a look. He then discovered that the ghost was most likely Fan Chusheng.

Hao Ren’s friend passed this news on to Hao Ren, who rushed over that very night. But after searching for several days, he only caught a glimpse of the ghost’s back.

Yet just from that back, Hao Ren became certain that this ghost was definitely Fan Chusheng. With so many years of friendship between them, he was too familiar with Fan Chusheng.

The problem was, Hao Ren didn’t know why Fan Chusheng’s soul refused to come out and meet him. After Hao Ren exhausted every possible method and still failed, he could only think of one last way: bringing Xuan Fire.

Xuan Fire was personally hatched and raised by Fan Chusheng from a young age. Fan Chusheng raised Xuan Fire like his own child, their bond was deep. Perhaps Xuan Fire could call Fan Chusheng out.

After Hao Ren and Xuan Fire arrived on site, they immediately charged off to search for Fan Chusheng. Man and snake planned to overturn every inch of the Fan Family estate first, while Jian Shuangshuang immediately began drawing the Tracking Array.

The Tracking Array’s construction posed no difficulty to Jian Shuangshuang. By the time Hao Ren and Xuan Fire had finished a round of searching and came to check her progress, her Tracking Array was already completed.

Hao Ren immediately placed a Jade Pendant into the Tracking Array. This Jade Pendant was Fan Chusheng’s personal defensive Magic Treasure; since it had recognized its master, it contained not only Fan Chusheng’s blood, but also a trace of his soul breath.

With Fan Chusheng’s aura, the Tracking Array was activated at once. The illusory Array Plate emitted a bright yellow light and slowly rose from the ground, floating to a position in front of Jian Shuangshuang.

The Array Texts on the plate spun rapidly, and then the eight intricate Array Texts on it detached from the plate, turning into eight small bright yellow arrows that shot out, swishing away to point in eight different directions.

Seeing the Tracking Array’s reaction, Hao Ren’s expression instantly turned ugly, because this situation meant Fan Chusheng’s soul had been torn apart and split into eight portions, which was why this pattern appeared.

The soul is composed of three souls and seven spirits; the three souls are the main souls, which do not separate unless they dissipate, while the seven spirits are secondary souls that govern the seven emotions of human beings.

If the soul suffers an attack, or if a person in life was subjected to a force strong enough to reach the soul itself, then the seven spirits are highly likely to be knocked loose and scattered by external force.

When a person loses one spirit, they lose one kind of emotion. When all seven spirits scatter, the living person becomes an imbecile, and after death their soul body loses awareness and reason. No wonder Fan Chusheng never responded no matter how Hao Ren tried to summon him.

Now his seven spirits were all dispersed, leaving only the main soul, ignorant and insensate, unable to perceive the outside world and naturally unable to respond to Hao Ren’s call. In such circumstances, even Xuan Fire would be unable to summon Fan Chusheng’s soul.

Hao Ren was now immensely grateful that Xuan Fire had pestered Jian Shuangshuang into coming along, and that Jian Shuangshuang happened to know the Tracking Array. Without the Tracking Array, finding all of Fan Chusheng’s scattered seven spirits would have been far too difficult.

And the scattered seven spirits were extremely fragile, very easily harmed; every day they remained unfound was another day they might be damaged.

In order to find Fan Chusheng’s soul as soon as possible, Hao Ren, Xuan Fire, and Jian Shuangshuang immediately followed the directions indicated by the Tracking Array to search for Fan Chusheng’s main soul and seven spirits.

The main soul was the first to be found, in a location that was quite unexpected—it was actually at the very spot where Hao Ren had previously seen the back of Fan Chusheng’s soul.

The two people and one snake followed the arrow pointing to the main soul for only a short distance before arriving here, and then the arrow changed from pointing forward to pointing downward, toward the underground.

This meant Fan Chusheng’s main soul was underground. Previously, Hao Ren and Xuan Fire had searched every corner, but never thought to look underground; that truly was a blind spot.

Jian Shuangshuang and Hao Ren immediately circulated Mystic Energy and began digging down deep. With that digging, they unearthed something that was both unexpected and yet within their expectations.

No wonder Hao Ren had turned the Fan Family estate inside out several times without finding Fan Chusheng’s soul—there was a hidden passage under the estate.

This passage was not only buried deep, it also had an Array that blocked external probing. The Array was exquisitely crafted, without offensive power, but with extremely strong ability to conceal aura. If not for the Tracking Array, even Jian Shuangshuang would not have discovered it.

This underground passage seemed to have existed for a very long time. It was probably a route the ancestors of the Fan Family left behind for their descendants when they first built this mansion.

But at some unknown point, the existence of this underground passage was gradually forgotten, so that by this generation, when Hao Ren easily forced the Fan Family to abandon the estate, the passage beneath their feet was never discovered.

Fan Chusheng’s main soul and his seven spirits were all inside this underground passage. Once Hao Ren and Jian Shuangshuang violently opened the passage, they immediately found Fan Chusheng’s main soul wandering stupidly back and forth in it.

The back of Fan Chusheng’s soul that Hao Ren had seen earlier was probably when Fan Chusheng’s main soul, in its ignorant state, briefly left the passage and appeared on the surface, then returned again to this tunnel.

Once inside the tunnel, the guiding arrow of the Tracking Array continued to point along the passage’s branching paths. Clearly, Fan Chusheng’s remaining seven spirits were all within this underground passage.

With the main soul and scattered seven spirits found, merging the soul back together became much easier. Hao Ren could handle it himself, while Xuan Fire coiled off to one side, watching Fan Chusheng anxiously.

Jian Shuangshuang didn’t have much to do, so she took a walk through the entire underground passage beneath the Fan Family mansion, thinking this place really was quite something—perfect for filming a ghost movie, eerie and terrifying.

By the time Jian Shuangshuang had finished touring the whole underground passage and returned, Fan Chusheng’s soul had already been fully merged and his awareness restored. He was in the middle of hugging Hao Ren and Xuan Fire, all three crying their eyes out.

Once they finally finished crying, what remained was sending Fan Chusheng off to reincarnation. But Fan Chusheng was very unwilling to reincarnate; he couldn’t bear to leave Xuan Fire, and he couldn’t bear to leave Hao Ren, this friend.

More importantly, after reincarnation the previous life is entirely forgotten, which means that the person named Fan Chusheng is truly dead; the one who reincarnates is another person, not Fan Chusheng himself. Fan Chusheng did not want to disappear completely.

If Fan Chusheng’s power were stronger, he could actually retain memories of his previous life after reincarnation. There are many such cases.

It is said that in the current Imperial Family and among the Major Sects, several Great Powers are people who, after encountering accidents, were forced to reincarnate and then return. Now, every one of them holds a position of great honor.
