The Villain's Story

Chapter 952: Gamble it all away!

Chapter 952: Gamble it all away!

Alan approached Amanda Wells, who was conversing with the other leaders.

Ryan Helmy, the highest-ranked official sent by the Association and a B-rank awakened. A man with black hair, average height, and a chiseled face. He looked like someone who really cared about his appearance, someone who had a psychotic obsession with.

He was one of the four leaders of this expedition. Other than him, there was Howard Elips, a middle-aged man with a dad-bod. His black hair was showing signs of turning grey, and there were dark circles underneath his eyes, similar to Kazikato’s.

Alan Peccator, Amanda Wells, Ryan Helmy, and Howard Elips were the four people with the highest authority in this expedition, respectively. Alan had been granted the highest authority due to his status as an SSS-rank individual, with Amanda’s being the same, although her Unique Skill, the priority of this expedition, had a significant hand in it as well.

Ryan and Howard were next, and Alan was already planning to leave everything to them. It wasn’t as if he was being lazy, but those two simply seemed like the two who would like it to be the case. They didn’t want a kid, regardless of his strength, making decisions.

Alan was strong, but he wasn’t the kind of guy who could lead and manage. Unless it involved mindless soldiers from his domain who were as crazy as him.

They were currently just chatting with each other, getting to know each other. There wasn’t anything of significance being discussed until Alan approached.

Ryan extended his hand in a handshake, and Alan took it. Howard followed after, and they exchanged simple greetings. Amanda simply greeted him with her eyes, which was odd.

’...Ah, she was the prideful type.’

He recalled the information about her according to the file Maxwell had given him. She was sort of a sheltered, rich girl, one who was extremely prideful, having reached her rank at her age. She had the entire resources of her family behind her, and was a promising asset for the Association as well.

Her Unique Skill had likely bloated her ego, and Maxwell had warned him that she would be somewhat troublesome. She was talented, certainly, but then again, her grand day was interrupted by Alan, who had reached SSS-rank, that too while he was years younger than her.

It should have been a massive blow to her ego, but if he was being honest... Alan didn’t really care what she thought about him. As long as she wasn’t stupid and reckless, and annoying, and nosy, and otherwise similar things, he didn’t have a problem with her.

Even he was filled with pride, although that had more to do with the Three Prime Species... So he did kind of understand her.

Once the greetings were out of the way, Ryan said.

"Well, since that is out of the way. We are planning to stay in Las Vegas for about four days. The first is to simply let everyone relax, while the second is to prepare for the monster invasion on the third. After that is finished, we will head towards Phoenix. Is that alright?"

Howard added.

"Still, even if tomorrow is just to relax... Please keep an eye on your personnel. Las Vegas is secure, and we should not be expecting any demonic activity... Besides that, please make sure everyone behaves.

The entertainment here... can be a little too much."

He said, while giving Alan a strange look. He was taken aback, but then quickly understood. Everyone on the expedition, aside from those from the World Government, were young prodigies that had a lot of money on their hands. The two ’adults’ were worried they would gamble it all away, or worse, get themselves involved in troublesome situations.

Because of his prowess... but more so because of his age, Alan was also one of the prodigies at risk of showing off too much. No one could really make him pay the price, but it would still be good to be in control.

It would be troublesome if an SSS-ranked teenager began to gamble... and depending on his luck, many things could go bad.

"Ah, don’t worry. I just plan on sleeping the entire time, if I am up, and do go to those establishments... Don’t worry! I can keep myself in control!"

He assured, with his thumb raised. Although he had a feeling that didn’t lessen Howard’s worries at all. A Dragon does not gamble his wealth away! Besides, he was pretty sure Maxwell was keeping a close eye on his card during this expedition...

"... Please be careful."

He sighed. Ryan looked a little worried as well, meanwhile, Amanda just smiled and walked away. Both of them noticed the slight tension between the two S-rank and above individuals and chose to say nothing.

Although they were the only two to notice anything. Alan was oblivious to the fact that Amanda had even walked away, choosing to go back to his group and finally go to his hotel. Unfortunately, since he had never been here, he would have to do the most bothersome thing in the entire universe!

Walk towards his hotel! As someone who had gotten too used to portals and flying, walking was such an obvious chore! A form of torture!

Since the hotel was close to the military compound, he had to walk... since he couldn’t fit in those tight vehicles comfortably at all. He couldn’t even sit on top of them, as that was simply not allowed!

He couldn’t fly as well. Apparently, that was also restricted, and a heavy fine would be given if any awakened were caught flying near a military compound... sadly, this was the same case for the entire city.

"Don’t be such a bum, consider it exercise."

Alexander scoffed at him as Alan followed behind, his shoulders drooped low.

He would have to walk for a while... for the first time in a while.

’...’

Little did everyone else know, Alan planned to speed through the entire city, casting numerous stealth spells on himself soon enough... So he could open a portal anywhere in this damn city!

This would be the last time he walked! And no stupid law could force a dragon to hide their wings!
