Chapter 967: I’m not selling shit!
Merely a few moments after his call with Harrison ended, someone within helicopter turned to look at Alan, and proposed.
"How much?"
Amanda asked, gaining the attention of everyone within the helicopter besides the pilot. Howard looked at her strangely, until he realized.
"I’m not selling it."
Alan answered, having caught onto it. She was obviously interested in the Life-Core, and even the seed of the Terra King, but no matter what, Alan wasn’t interested in selling them. He was hell-bent on offering them to his domain, as he was certain it was hungry.
He hadn’t fed the altar in a while... and Alan was eager to improve his domain, especially considering the war was near.
He needed more soldiers, a lot more soldiers, knights, mages, and other such improvements to his mighty domain. Even though he was aware they wouldn’t do jack shit against the Martial Star... Alan wasn’t planning on using them to fight the Martial Star, they would more or less be his personal army that fought divisions of the demons, an ever growing army that would sacrifice every foe it had slain, and empower Alan further.
This was mainly on the guidance of Valus, who stressed that Alan should explore his domain further, and had even provided many treasures to facilitate more growth of the Jade Palace. Valus was insistent Alan explore his unique domain, and stressed that sometimes, individual power doesn’t solve everything.
Although one could argue that his soldiers were still his own individual power, considering Alan’s domain gave birth to them, Valus was explicit he had his personal guard, as it would fit well with his status.
Alan was the Prince of Death now, as cringe as it sounded, it was a literal title in the Universe, one that elevated his status to absurd levels. He was the Heir to the House of Death, a House that did not lose to any of the other Dragon Houses, and was considered above them in many aspects. Furthermore, it was a faction that had many, many races underneath, most of them shunned in the past.
This past gave them a certain trauma, one which forced them to regard noble titles more dearly than other houses, to a fanatical extent. Furthermore, Ariel herself declared Alan her heir, and the Primordial Dragon demanded respect, one Alan had to live up to.
Alan had to live up to his title, and he had to do it quick, and be sure he wasn’t less than the ’Princess of War’, the heir to the House of War. While Alan hadn’t even seen this princess or anything, Valus stressed that he shouldn’t ever be seen as lesser to her, who had already amassed armies and led various campaigns in the Universe.
To put it simply, Valus wouldn’t allow his house to be seen as lesser than the House of War when one considered their heirs, and he would rather die than let that happen. He made sure Alan knew and learnt what his title required of him... and it was a torturous experience.
This war would be where Alan would be revealed to the universe, as the official heir of Death. Nobody expected him to win against an Epic Being, but they did expect him to live up to the expectations of the House of Death.
Alan couldn’t get any support from his House during this war, and all that he would get would be after, presuming he survived. He needed to do everything to heighten his chance of survival.
He simply couldn’t part with the Life-Core and Seed, and part of the reason Alan was taking the expedition seriously was because it would allow him to get treasures he needed to further advance his domain.
Unfortunately, he also couldn’t voice this need of his, as it would give his enemies an idea of what his domain could do, therefore, Alan simply had one solution.
"I’m not selling the Life-Core, it’s a cool treasure, and I’m sure Alice would never forgive me if I sell something like this to anyone but her."
And that was to throw his friends under the bus. What? Alice had talent in alchemy, and she would practically be drooling over the chance to get a Life-core. It was a different story that she would never get it... but alas, she would understand, no?
Amanda wasn’t willing to back down, not entirely, of course.
"I understand you do not wish to sell the Life-Core, it’s priceless on Earth at the moment. Even I wouldn’t do such a thing. However, what about the drop from the Elemental you faced?"
She appeared perplexed for a moment, before sighing, and revealed.
"My unique skill deals with Elementals, and Elements in general. Due to my affinity to the Earth and Terra, my Unique Skill is especially catered towards Elementals of those two affinities. I don’t want the life-core, but I want the loot from the elemental, It would help me immensely, and as far as I am concerned, none of your associates possess an affinity to those Elements.
Therefore, What is the price? I’m willing to go bankrupt for that drop."
She said, with a resolute look on her face. Alan was puzzled, as quite honestly, he didn’t view the crystallized heart of the Terra King that highly. He wasn’t that interested in it and only wanted to sacrifice it to the altar.
And that was why... Amanda couldn’t change Alan’s mind no matter what. She could virtually offer Alan nothing, as he was already richer than almost anyone on Earth in terms of the Universe.
His only competition was Elijah, and to a certain extent, Kazikato. They were like him, supported by factions that Earth couldn’t hold a candle too.
Because of that, Alan had made his stance clear. Since their was nothing they could offer him, nothing of ’worth’, he had no reason to sell it. He didn’t even want good connections with people.
Therefore, he said no once again, disappointing Amanda, but thankfully, she didn’t raise a fuss after that.
Alan sighed in relief, glad that it was over.
