Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 2344 - 2247: Action

Chapter 2344: Chapter 2247: Action

Not sure whether Fujiwara Seiho is on the ship that the Oil Rat mentioned, but Huo Sining decided she had to go take a look anyway. Whether or not she can handle Fujiwara Seiho, at the very least she has to snatch that Medicine King Cauldron back. After all, it came from the Luofu Mountain Ancient Tomb, it has very high research value, and must not fall into Dongyang hands.

Ever since she made enemies with Watanabe Yasu and his crew back in Dongyang, Huo Sining hasn’t had any goodwill toward people in the Dongyang antique-collecting circle. These guys only know how to plunder Huaxia Country’s things and keep them for themselves; not only that, they even forge excavation certificates to smear Huaxia Country’s civilization, causing all kinds of nasty effects internationally. It really makes Huo Sining feel disgusted.

Of course, when it came to dealing with Fujiwara Seiho, Huo Sining never planned to involve Su Qingqing, Wu Jun and the others. This matter has nothing to do with them to begin with, and they’re all ordinary people—even if they got involved, they wouldn’t be able to help.

Huo Sining only called Yue Shuwen and Gu Xu out alone; she clearly meant to settle this quietly in private.

Gu Xu was naturally on board. The fewer people know about this, the better. If they take advantage of the night and deal with it silently, basically no one will notice. That way they can fool everyone and won’t have to worry about any international repercussions.

The three exchanged a look, then pretended nothing was up, staying on the deck with the others, chatting and joking. It wasn’t until after eleven that they each went back to their cabins to rest.

At two in the morning, when people are in their deepest sleep, Gu Xu and Huo Sining were the first to slip out of their rooms. Yue Shuwen had been waiting; hearing movement, she opened her door too. The three moved silently toward the ladder at the stern, planning to climb down—only, just as they reached the stern, they saw a dark figure squatting on the deck, counting mushrooms.

Huo Sining was startled. When she came closer and saw who the shadow was, she couldn’t help feeling both exasperated and amused. "Qibao, what are you doing out here in the middle of the night instead of sleeping?"

Qibao lifted his head and glared at Huo Sining. "I should be asking what you’re sneaking around getting ready to do. Where are you going? You’re going off to have fun and not taking me. Sis, that’s just mean!"

Huo Sining was speechless. "We’re not going to play, we’ve got serious business to take care of. Be good and stay on the ship. Sis will be back soon!"

Qibao snorted. "I don’t believe you. You even called A Yin over, so there’s definitely something fun going on. No way, I’m coming too!"

Huo Sining’s mouth twitched. After she finished talking with the Oil Rat, she had indeed quietly seeped a few threads of Spiritual Energy into the seawater while everyone was distracted. That Spiritual Energy was faint, pulsing with a particular frequency. It was a secret signal that only A Yin could recognize.

Responding to Huo Sining’s Spiritual Energy summon, A Yin arrived about an hour later. Afraid the others would notice, Huo Sining had specifically communicated with that guy in secret, telling it to hide at the stern and wait until everyone was asleep before coming out.

Huo Sining thought she’d done it very covertly, but unexpectedly she still couldn’t fool this little brat Qibao.

On second thought, it made sense. Her relationship with A Yin was basically that of employer and employee—she feeds it Spiritual Energy, and it works for her. Very equal, mutually beneficial. But things are different with Qibao. A Yin really likes Qibao, and Qibao is very close to A Yin. She even went out of her way to name it. A Yin will listen to her instructions, but will absolutely not avoid Qibao, so there was no way her plan could slip past Qibao’s notice.

Huo Sining really wanted to refuse Qibao’s demand, but right then, a little round head popped out from behind him. "Hogging the fun all to yourselves is asking to be struck by lightning. You grown-ups really have no sense of fairness. Something fun’s going on and you just cut us out. What’s that supposed to mean, looking down on us?"

Huo Sining: ...

She glared at Qibao and the Niuniu behind him, couldn’t help raising a hand to her forehead, and seriously wanted to chuck these little brats straight back onto shore.

These two brats popping out right now is just asking for trouble, isn’t it?

But Qibao was having none of it, and even quite agreed with Niuniu’s words. He nodded to himself and said:

"We don’t care what big deal you’re going off to do, but you don’t have any transportation. You have to rely on A Yin to get out there. I already talked with A Yin. If you don’t take me along, it won’t let you climb on its back. Hmph, let’s see what you do then!"

Huo Sining was instantly annoyed, glaring at the troublemaking Qibao, really on the verge of losing her temper.

With Qibao disrupting things, Huo Sining honestly wasn’t sure she could get that guy A Yin to cooperate.

"Forget it, just let them come. These two little ones aren’t weak in the force department. Even if they can’t help, they can definitely protect themselves. Letting them come along and see is fine. People like us can’t stay naive like children forever. We have to learn to grow up. It’s better to keep a bit of wariness toward people than to trust with no guard at all."

Yue Shuwen hurriedly stopped Huo Sining and told her that.

Huo Sining froze for a second, suddenly recalling the first time she met Qibao—those misty, deer-like eyes of his, that thin, frail figure. Thinking again of what that little guy had gone through in the Miao Village, she couldn’t help pausing, and inwardly had to agree with Yue Shuwen.

Human nature is greedy. Because of Qibao and Niuniu’s identity as Jiaoren, they’re destined to face danger at any time. Even though very few people now still believe that Jiaoren truly exist, as long as anyone remains interested, there’s no guarantee they won’t secretly investigate. One day, if either of these two little ones slips up and exposes their true form, calamity will follow.

Children living in an ivory tower are fragile in the end. Since Qibao and Niuniu have become Jiaoren, there’s no avoiding it. Only once they clearly see the fundamental difference between themselves and humans can they find the right way to live. Blind trust will only invite death upon them.

"Let’s go." Huo Sining nodded helplessly and waved at Qibao and Niuniu off to the side. Then she stuffed the two little troublemakers, along with Yue Shuwen, into the Space.

A Yin was floating up and down at the stern, long since waiting for Huo Sining. Seeing her approach, the guy even reflexively glanced behind her, seemingly looking for the brat Qibao.

Huo Sining shot A Yin an annoyed look. "Let’s go. I’ve got them with me. We’ll talk when we get there!"

A Yin seemed to sense that Huo Sining was in a bad mood and didn’t dare provoke its keeper while she was riled up—for fear she’d cut off its supply of Spiritual Energy. It quickly sank its body, signaling for Huo Sining to climb on.

"Head for that Dongyang ship!"

Huo Sining and Gu Xu jumped onto the dolphin’s back and, following the Oil Rat’s directions, swam out toward the open sea.
