Ascension from Dual Professions

Chapter 193 - 188: Giant God Action

Chapter 193: Chapter 188: Giant God, Action

Inside Grent Manor, the air was as taut as a drawn bowstring.

The clamor of riots echoed from all corners of Birch Town. The sounds of crying, crashing, and the distant, indistinct sight of fire and black smoke had long since breached the high walls, leaving the apprentices gathered in the Workshop area on edge.

Some of these young people had come here with dreams for the future. Others hoped to find sanctuary amidst the turmoil.

But without exception, they were now all huddled behind the courtyard gate and under the covered walkways, their faces a mixture of terror, anger, and confusion.

Under Rosalind’s leadership, they had relied on the manor’s own defenses to repel a group of rioters, but this brief victory brought little relief.

The chaotic din from the distant town was growing louder, and the fires seemed to be getting closer.

The apprentices’ hearts were still in their throats. Repelling a few rioters was easy, but faced with the madness of an entire town burning, how long could their meager strength possibly hold out?

Just as the tense atmosphere was about to snap—

RUMBLE—!

A deep engine roar grew from a distant hum to a thundering presence. The sound was so penetrating it drowned out the nearby clamor, carrying with it an undeniable sense of power as it bore down on the manor.

"It’s... it’s that huge truck! Lord Jon’s truck is back!"

A sharp-eyed apprentice perched atop the wall cried out in excitement.

The colossal steel beast named "Fierce Warrior" was like a behemoth returning from a Blizzard. It brutally plowed through the debris blocking its path, kicking up a trail of dust and radiating a terrifying aura as it charged unstoppably toward the closed gates of Grent Manor.

Its massive body nearly blocked the entire street. Wherever it passed, the chaos seemed to hit a pause button.

The heavy vehicle door burst open, and Jon leaped nimbly to the ground.

His tall frame was wrapped in a dark cloak tinged with the scent of snow and gunpowder. His ice-blue eyes were no longer their usual calm or occasionally playful selves; they now burned with a quiet fury.

His gaze swept over the terrified apprentices, who were instantly revitalized by his presence, before finally settling on Rosalind.

"Master."

Rosalind strode forward, the cold glint in her silver eyes melting into tenderness the moment she saw him.

She gave a respectful bow and then reported in a low voice.

"The manor is secure. We repelled two waves of rioter Impacts. No casualties."

Jon nodded at Rosalind. Between the two of them, no more words were needed; a single glance was enough.

He turned to face all the apprentices, who had found their backbone the moment he returned, the flames of hope rekindling in their eyes.

Like a tide, the apprentices surged involuntarily from behind their cover, gathering before Jon and looking at him with a mixture of nervousness and anticipation.

"Mr. Jon!"

"Sir!"

"What do we do now?"

Jon raised a hand, and the courtyard instantly fell silent, leaving only the background noise of chaos from the distant town and the low rumble of the Fierce Warrior’s engine.

His voice wasn’t loud, yet it carried clearly to everyone’s ears.

"I know you’re scared, angry, and confused."

"The world outside is burning. The innocent are suffering, and order is collapsing."

His ice-blue eyes swept across the young, tense faces.

"Some may have their reasons for letting this happen, but I, Jon, and my Giant God Workshop, believe in a different principle."

He paused, and his next words landed with force, each one deliberate and resonant.

"In the midst of such chaos, we must do what we can."

Those words were like a ray of light, instantly dispelling the gloom and hesitation in the apprentices’ hearts.

"What we can?"

A young apprentice repeated subconsciously, his eyes lighting up.

"That’s right."

Jon suddenly clenched his fist and began issuing commands.

"All male apprentices, proceed to the Workshop armory immediately! Pick up standard-issue Armor, melee weapons, and backup steel nail launchers! Each person is to be issued two standard healing potions and one stamina recovery potion!"

"Using Grent Manor as your core, form five-person combat teams and sweep outwards! Your mission is to eliminate any rioters you see committing acts of violence, rescue trapped residents, and guide them to evacuate toward the manor or the Lord’s Mansion!"

"Remember, the Workshop and your home are at your backs! Prioritize your own safety, act within your limits, and support one another!"

"All female apprentices and non-combat personnel, set up a temporary aid station in the manor’s front courtyard!"

"Prepare all our stored salves, bandages, and disinfectants! Rosalind will lead you in maintaining order and security!"

The series of commands was clear and decisive. The confusion on the apprentices’ faces was quickly replaced by a heavy sense of responsibility and the feeling of being needed.

"Yes, Sir!"

After giving these orders, Jon turned to the Dwarves.

"Sutton, I’m entrusting the Workshop’s security to you."

"Leave it to me!"

Sutton slapped his chest, his small eyes wide.

"You just go do what you need to do!"

"Right."

Finally, Jon’s gaze turned toward the depths of the manor, and he let out a sharp, clear whistle.

"Big Mimi!"

ROAR—!

A roar that was both lazy and majestic answered him.

A colossal, snow-white beast emerged from the shadows of the main building deep within the manor, its giant scorpion tail swaying gently behind it.

It padded over to Jon’s side and affectionately nuzzled his arm with its massive head.

Jon patted Big Mimi’s sturdy, Scale Armor-covered neck.

"You’ve been lazing around for days. Time to stretch your legs."

Big Mimi pretended not to hear, shaking its head nonchalantly.

Jon didn’t mind. He grabbed the saddle rope, leaped onto Big Mimi’s back, settled himself, and then sharply raised a hand.

As the bracelet on his wrist flashed, the sealed doors of several warehouses deep within the manor rumbled open.

Rows of Gun Cavalry Mark I Mechanical Bodies, which had been in standby mode, were revealed, along with even more smaller, Sentinel-type Mechanical Bodies wielding light shields and short hammers.

A low hum of activation swelled into a chorus. Cold metal joints, powered by Crystal Energy, whirred to life with a powerful clang. The lights in the Mechanical Bodies’ eyes lit up one after another, shifting from a faint blue to a cautionary yellow!

Then, with heavy yet precise steps, they marched out of the Workshop in formation, assembling in the courtyard.

These war machines, forged from steel and Runes, gleamed with an inorganic, cold light. They had no hot blood, no fear—only absolute obedience to commands.

Illuminated by the dim daylight and the distant fires, this silent array exuded a heart-stopping, oppressive presence.

Yet at this moment, this cold, steel torrent brought an unprecedented sense of security to every terrified soul within the manor!

For this was the Power of the Giant God Workshop!

Mounted on Big Mimi’s back, Jon surveyed the crowd one last time. Then, his ice-blue eyes turned toward the chaotic, fire-lit town beyond the manor, and he swept his hand downward.

"Move out!"
