Chapter 270: Chapter 247: A Giant Demon in an Elf’s Skin
"Incredible..."
Alvin watched the figure weaving through the horde of Giant Dragons, a complex and inscrutable light flashing in his eyes.
As the most outstanding member of the Jade Royal Court’s younger generation, he had once been certain that no one in the entire Elf Race on the continent could compare to him, save for Alicia.
Even when Anton’s fame skyrocketed as the Fallen Dragon Sword Saint, this conviction had never wavered.
But now, witnessing Anton’s battle with his own eyes, he was struck by the sudden realization that his previous beliefs were completely and utterly wrong.
This Elf, who came from a remote Clan, was clearly a cut above him in strength.
As this realization dawned on him, Alvin’s feelings grew even more complicated.
He was a Sun Elf, with the most elite bloodline of the Jade Royal Court flowing through his veins.
Losing to Alicia was one thing; she was, after all, a once-in-a-millennium genius from a branch of the royal family, and the blood of the royal court’s Elves flowed in her veins as well.
But Anton?
He was just an ordinary Elf with no bloodline enhancement. How could he possibly be this outstanding?
Alvin couldn’t fathom it, no matter how hard he thought.
Ignatius was just as amazed.
"How in the world does this fellow cultivate?" Ignatius stroked his beard, his eyes filled with astonishment.
He had seen many geniuses, but never one like Anton.
He had only ascended to the Legend realm a little over a decade ago, yet his strength already far surpassed that of many veteran Legends.
’At this rate, isn’t he on track to challenge for the rank of Saint in the future?’
In a corner of the battlefield, Byron’s face shifted between shades of red and white, his expression fluctuating wildly.
He never would have imagined that Anton’s true strength was this terrifying.
’Thinking back on what I said before entering the spatial node, it feels like I was just slapping my own face.’
Meanwhile, seeing its Legendary Combat Power dwindling rapidly, the Azure Abyss Dragon could no longer remain calm. It let out a deafening roar.
"Kill him!"
At this point, the Dragon Race’s Legendary Combat Power only outnumbered the allied forces’ by three.
As the Azure Abyss Dragon’s voice fell, three high-ranking Giant Dragons abandoned their opponents without hesitation and charged toward Anton to kill him.
The allied powerhouses fighting them tried to stop them, but they were quickly tied down by new replacement Giant Dragons, unable to break free.
In the blink of an eye, Anton was once again surrounded, and this time, his enemies were even stronger than before.
A full three high-ranking Giant Dragons at the veteran Legend level.
This scene made many onlookers think that things were looking bad.
Yet even in the face of such a perilous situation, Anton’s expression remained calm and composed, without a hint of panic.
’Do they really think the Sword Pill is my only trump card?’
With a single thought, a Profound Yellow Seal flew from his sleeve. It grew with the wind, instantly transforming into a massive seal the size of a small mountain, which came crashing down on the Frost Vein Dragon at the forefront!
The Frost Vein Dragon’s pupils contracted. It instinctively sensed a fatal threat and flapped its wings furiously, trying to dodge.
But the Heaven-Overturning Seal was far faster than it had anticipated.
Before the seal even arrived, a heavy pressure descended, as if the very heavens were collapsing.
The Frost Vein Dragon felt as if its wings were being held down by a pair of massive, invisible hands. Every flap was an immense struggle, and its movements became sluggish.
BOOM!
The massive seal slammed solidly onto the Frost Vein Dragon’s back, smashing its enormous body from midair straight into the ground.
Flesh and bone fragments splattered everywhere. The ground trembled violently as spiderweb-like cracks spread out frantically from the point of impact.
The Frost Vein Dragon was pinned beneath the seal, its scales shattered and blood gushing from its wounds. It struggled to rise but was utterly immobile, as if crushed by a great mountain.
At the same time, the earth buckled and rose, pressing it down even more firmly.
The two remaining Giant Dragons were horrified by the sight, but they both seized the opening while Anton was distracted controlling the Heaven-Overturning Seal, launching fierce attacks from both sides.
On the left, the Radiant Ash Dragon opened its mouth and spewed scorching Dragon Breath, a torrent of grayish-white fire surging toward Anton on a wave of blistering heat.
On the right, the Gleaming Light Dragon erupted with electrical light. Countless lightning threads, as fine as hairs, shot out from between its scales, weaving into a dense, inescapable net of lightning that descended upon Anton.
Anton paid them no mind, simply pushing his Primordial True Gang to its limit. The golden Gang Qi on his body blazed like a burning, solid flame.
Meanwhile, his hands never stopped moving.
Under the control of his Divine Sense, two hundred fifty-six streaks of sword light shot toward the Frost Vein Dragon’s head like a bolt of profound gold silk stretching across the sky.
A wisp of six-colored flame shot from his fingertip, growing with the wind into a monstrous wave of fire that swept out from another direction.
The sword light and the Six Ding Divine Fire struck the Frost Vein Dragon at almost the exact same time.
The Frost Vein Dragon instantly let out a blood-curdling shriek.
Its massive body convulsed violently in the flames as the sword light pierced it again and again.
The excruciating pain made it struggle frantically, but it could not escape the suppression of the Heaven-Overturning Seal.
In almost the same instant, the Dragon Breath and the net of lightning struck Anton.
A violent explosion erupted in the void. The scorching heatwave and the ferocious lightning intertwined into a destructive curtain of light, completely engulfing Anton.
Just as the Frost Vein Dragon’s agonizing shrieks came to an abrupt end and it was shredded and consumed by the sword light, the Dragon Breath and the lightning net finally tore through the dual defenses of the Primordial True Gang and the Seven-Star Sun-Binding Robe, striking Anton’s body.
When the Dragon Breath and lightning net dissipated, Anton’s body was covered in countless wounds and scorch marks.
"Anton!"
Romance’s expression changed slightly as she cried out in alarm.
The three elders and Cedric also paled, their hearts tightening.
The faces of everyone on the allied side also shifted.
Anton was the allied forces’ main pillar. If he fell, the situation they had just managed to turn around would become precarious once more.
Although the two Giant Dragons besieging Anton were horrified by their companion’s death, their eyes lit up with wild joy when they saw that Anton was finally injured.
"He’s injured!"
"Now’s our chance! Kill him!"
The Radiant Ash Dragon and the Gleaming Light Dragon attacked again without hesitation, intending to finish Anton off while he was wounded.
But in the next moment, the Profound Gold Sword Light blocked their path, forcing them to divert their attention to defend themselves.
In that brief moment of delay, a gentle, jade-green light emerged from Anton’s body. It was like the first tender sprouts of spring, brimming with vigorous life force.
Within the space of a single breath, Anton was perfectly healed. Not a single wound could be found on his body, as if his severe injuries from moments ago had been nothing but an illusion.
On the battlefield, everyone’s movements subconsciously slowed for a beat.
Friend and foe alike stared at this scene, dumbfounded and filled with disbelief.
"What is that?"
"A restorative Power of Law? But that healing speed is just too fast!"
"Such a powerful regenerative ability..."
Even the Elves of the Silver Moon Squad stared with wide eyes, their faces etched with shock.
They had never seen Anton use such a technique before.
Seeing him recover from his injuries in an instant, they felt a wave of relief wash over them, followed by an indescribable sense of shock.
Anton looked up at the two remaining Giant Dragons, the corners of his mouth turning up slightly.
Both Giant Dragons shuddered. The ecstasy in their vertical pupils vanished, replaced by intense fear.
’What in the world is this guy?’
’How can he recover from such heavy injuries in the blink of an eye?’
’Is he a Giant Demon in an Elf’s skin?’
Before they could figure it out, the Profound Gold Sword Light shot out once more, tearing through the air toward them.
BOOM!
The Heaven-Overturning Seal descended from the sky, ruthlessly pinning the Gleaming Light Dragon to the ground.
Anton repeated his tactic, tanking the Radiant Ash Dragon’s attacks while planning to focus his fire on one dragon before turning to deal with the other.
Although his Seven-Star Sun-Binding Robe had been completely destroyed in the previous attack, leaving him with one less layer of defense, the number of Giant Dragons attacking him had also been reduced from two to one.
Relying on his Primordial True Gang, he safely withstood the Radiant Ash Dragon’s assault. After killing the Gleaming Light Dragon, he quickly used the Void One Yuan Life Qi to heal his injuries.
The remaining Radiant Ash Dragon was unable to hold out alone and was no match for Anton. It soon followed in its companion’s footsteps.
Directing his Sword Pill to devour the essence of the last Giant Dragon, Anton let out a long sigh of relief in his heart.
His opponents were, after all, three high-ranking Giant Dragons at the veteran Legend level. Though he appeared unscathed in the end, he had actually used almost every trick up his sleeve.
The Heaven-Overturning Seal, after all, wasn’t like his Sword Pill, which was perfectly bonded with him. Using it consumed a great deal of Magical Power.
Not to mention the Void One Yuan Life Qi, a massive drain on his Magical Power. Each use required a huge amount of it to stimulate his life force.
After that one battle, his Magical Power reserves were mostly depleted.
’Right now, my limit is probably fighting four veteran Legends at once,’
Anton thought to himself as he took out a Pill and consumed it.
While he felt somewhat unsatisfied, the surrounding spectators were left completely stunned by the outcome of the battle.
He had fought one against three—three high-ranking, veteran Legend-level Giant Dragons at that—and had ended the fight with a complete victory.
Even if there was still a gap between his strength and that of a peak Legend, it couldn’t be a large one.
The legendary Fallen Dragon Sword Saint was truly this powerful...
The Pill’s medicinal power dissolved in Anton’s stomach, rapidly replenishing his spent Magical Power.
He rested for a brief moment before his sword light shot out once more, heading for the Giant Dragons still fighting the allied forces.
He specifically targeted the opponents of the allied Legendary Powerhouses who were on the losing end.
Although their "kills were stolen," these allied Legendary Powerhouses showed no dissatisfaction. Instead, they all breathed a sigh of relief.
Some even shot Anton grateful glances.
On a battlefield of life and death like this, having someone to help share the pressure was more than they could ask for.
With the battle having developed to this point, the outcome was no longer in doubt.
The scales of victory had tipped completely in the allied forces’ favor.
On the battlefield, the allied elites fought with increasing valor, their morale soaring.
The Dragon Race, in contrast, was in a state of constant retreat, their morale shattered.
The Giant Dragons, once so menacing, now looked terrified, their vertical pupils filled with fear and panic.
If the spatial entrance hadn’t yet opened, some Giant Dragons would have probably already tried to flee this wasteland of flesh and blood.
A little over half an hour later, as the last Giant Dragon fell, not a single dragon was left standing in the spatial node aside from the Azure Abyss Dragon Irad.
As for the Pure-blooded Dragon Race, they had long since been wiped out by the allied powerhouses who had freed up their hands.
Gazing at the scene before them, many of the allied powerhouses looked dazed.
Before the battle began, they had thought this would be a difficult fight, perhaps even a fight to the death.
Who could have imagined that their side would achieve victory so easily?
Compared to the nearly annihilated Dragon Race, their own casualties were practically negligible.
And everyone understood that this was all thanks to the Fallen Dragon Sword Saint.
Everyone turned to look at Anton’s figure, their eyes filled with awe and admiration.
If not for Anton, the outcome of this battle would have likely been very different.
Anton paid no mind to the surrounding gazes.
As soon as the fighting concluded, his gaze immediately shifted to the very center of the battlefield.
There, the battle between Valin and the Azure Abyss Dragon was still ongoing.
